The largest county in Texas!
This county is three times larger than Delaware. Larger than Connecticut. Bigger than Delaware and Rhode Island combined. This place is big. Texas is known for vast, wide open spaces, and this is the home of the vastest, widest open spaces in the land. Home to Big Bend National Park- go there and you'll understand.
The county is named after the Republic of Texas' Secretary of War, Colonel Henry Percy Brewster, this place has a fightin' past. Pancho Villa came through here, as did skermishes in old West kinda senses. This place seems like it's in the middle of nowhere. But, there are some towns- Alpine is the biggest town, and the county seat. It's worth checking out. There used to be a lot of mining around here- mercury. But not much any longer.
This county is also home to the Terlingua International Chili Cookoff- the most prestigious in the land! read more
