The building housing the Antique Mall in "downtown" Union City (Columbia Street) is known as the "old Kirshbaum building." For those who crave a dose of nostalgia, it's like stepping in to a time capsule with the tin ceilings, old glass cases and beautiful wide, carpeted stairway. I most often turn to the Mall when I'm looking for something in particular, for instance, my white 1950s wooden dining room table or skeleton keys I once used to make earrings. However, if I just want to have a good hour of moseying fun, my legs will take me in. The sad thing, in my opinion, is that my neighbors and fellow Union City-ans don't realize how lucky we are to have this beautiful business in our town. I more often hear of people turning to Target and WalMart for their furniture than buying something that not only has character, but is equally as cheap (not to mention the reduce, reuse, recycle aspect;). Grateful to have this charming and beautiful business in my hometown - I highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area.

For the staff, it's a family-run business and they're all incredibly nice and personable. It's easy to talk to all of them and they're more than willing to help with special requests and orders. They also offer a 10% in-store credit reward system which is simple and quite generous too! In terms of location, while it's a bit off the beaten path, it's close enough to one of the main streets in tow (and another hobby shop) to not be an issue. Parking can be cramped on busy days, but that's to be expected. As far as product goes, there's a lot! Miniatures in particular are well-represented. All Games Workshop IPs are here (some more than others, but also including some boxsets that aren't available anymore) and they're always getting new product in for pre-orders. While they do sell them at GW retail price, their rewards program has let me get away (more than a few times) with getting a few boxes for free or for more than 50% discount. Dungeons and Dragons + Pathfinder minis are also available, as are Star Wars: Legion, BattleTech, and HeroClix, as well as more niche stuff, like Blood and Plunder. A fair selection for various card games, but also a generous and wide selection of board games as well! Lastly, there is also a selection of paints, primers, brushes, magnets, basing material, and other hobby tools that are readily available. As far as gaming space, the backroom has space to accommodate plenty of people and for different games. Plenty of tables to set up at, and a wide selection of terrain to make use of for wargaming. While I unfortunately cannot comment on the music section of the store, as I have not made use of its services, I can say that the gentleman who runs it is very respectful and helpful. Overall, a very worthwhile visit for hobbyists who want a wide selection of goods to peruse at an honest price from honest staff. I stopped in here for the second time for a $20 bag sale they were having. They dumped all of the…read moreclothes that they wanted to clear out into a pile on the floor. This was fun crawling around on the floor and digging through the clothes. I ended up finding two bags worth. I got there about fifteen minutes after they opened. I had been in prior to this sale. I remember they had a lot of smaller sizes and I could not really wear them at that point. The price point is not bad and although it says it is a vintage shop some of the items are newer and not really vintage. I am sure I will stop in again to check them out.

Every item you'll find is in great condition and the shop itself is a remodeled old home. You'll notice that the ladies that work there are incredibly sweet and I've personally known one of them most of my life. Great lady. During Christmastime, Deanna and her husband cut out and paint wooden ornaments. Since about 2006, my siblings and myself have gotten an ornament from her every Christmas. Our tree is literally covered with them -- which makes for great memories. Even after I've moved out, I go back with my family each year to pick out another ornament. The store also smells wonderful -- bringing forth a sense of comfort. I hope this shop remains as it is for a long while. If you're passing through Winchester, which never takes long, consider stopping at Cashmere Cat. It can be difficult finding worthwhile things to do in a small town - so consider this a helpful tip.

The shop is in an old bank. It's 111 years old!!!! It still has the vault! It's so pretty inside. They did a great job on it. Behind the store a lady plants sunflowers every year. Thousands of sunflowers bloom! She said people will stop and just aww at them because it's so many. They sell candles, soaps, clothing, decor and ice cream! They have a nice little area where you can buy scoops of ice cream. They even make fresh banana splits! This truly is a small business that has a story just by using that bank to give it new life. For every open store there are 3-4 closed ones. So sad that malls are dying. The anchor store is a Books A Million. There are a couple shoe stores. A bath and bodywork. Some stores I have never heard of. If you are a mall walker which a high percentage of people were in there this is your place! No obstacles in your way. It is a good place to spend an hour or so. If you are hungry you have a MCL or Auntie Anne's pretzel. There are several security guards there and this mall is clean!

During my April visit there were more security guards walking the mall than customers. The guards were not nice either. When snapping a pic they said it was prohibited. However no signs. The only nice popular stores have departed. No longer a theater is attached. So many mistakes have occurred with management. The Muncie Mall has a long way to go to recover and I'm not optimistic they will. I grew up going to the mall and it's distressing to see its demise. The mall was once the place to shop and be seen as a teen. Now the selection of items is all but gone. I see no reason to return. 1.5 rounding down.
