On October 5, 2026, I personally visited the office and met with insurance broker Janine to cancel my auto insurance policy. I completed and signed the required cancellation paperwork that day. Despite this, I continued receiving notices threatening cancellation for nonpayment. I later discovered that my cancellation paperwork was not submitted until October 13, 2026, eight days after I signed it. When I contacted the agency for an explanation, I did not receive a satisfactory answer. I was also informed that cancellation could take approximately 6-8 weeks, which was never explained to me when I originally requested cancellation.This is not a minor inconvenience. Auto insurance cancellations can affect New York State DMV records and potentially result in insurance-lapse penalties. Customers should be able to trust that their insurance broker will handle time-sensitive paperwork promptly and communicate important information clearly. What disappointed me most was the way my concerns were handled. I felt dismissed when I was simply trying to understand why my paperwork had not been submitted promptly.I have since filed formal complaints with the New York State Department of Financial Services, the New York State Attorney General's Office, and the Better Business Bureau and also made a police report with the 6th present in Selden NY. I will take full legal action if i need to. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this agency especially Janine. Customers deserve better communication, accountability, and professionalism when dealing with something as important as auto insurance.
