Had the buffet for dinner; very limited choice and not that good. Salmon and pork very dry and tasteless. Staff very friendly.

We were up at JW Rosseau for a superb overnight deal we found on Jaunt.ca which included $100…read moredining credit on site. After a rather disappointing dinner at Teca the night before, we were looking forward to a nice, hearty breakfast. The breakfast buffet was the usual spread of freshly bakeds goods, breakfast meats, assorted yogurts, omelet station and etc. Most of the items were still fresh when we got there around 9 a.m. (no stringy, sinewy bacon!) and the baked goods were decent as well. They could have used better coffee as there is nothing I dislike more than (well, arguably) breakfast with bad coffee. All in all, the breakfast buffet was a good experience. We'll be sure to swing by the next time we're up in the area.

The salad was wilted from being left out from a previous seating.Very poor food handling practices ,bare exposed hands on the seafood ,the staff were all new immigrants with little or no English ,requests were either ignored or not understood very much under trained nor prepared for food service. The desserts were pitiful more kid appeal than substance no forethought lacking flavor and imagination the chef must have been the bottom of his class .Poor to no vegetarian options but what do you expect for $150+ for dinner for 2 . The Resort has a captive audience with bad weather a Statutory Holiday and nothing else open for 40 miles .If I knew then what I know now I would have stayed home ! Fasting would have been a healthier and cheaper option the Marriot should be ashamed and I intend to report the health violations witnessed. I whole heatedly recommend you think twice before attending this 2 star offering at a less than 5 star resort! All of this was brought to Managements attention with absolutely " NO " compensation given.

We liked this place so much we returned the following day…read more The first visit I had a quite good iced chocolate chai. (I'm always excited to find chocolate chai.) The berry scone was amazing as well. I wished the tea place we went to the day before in Gravenhurst (Blue Willow Tea Shop) made their scones as good as this. Farmer's Daughter's scones were sweet and didn't need jam. The chocolate chip cookies were fantastic as well. I liked the husband's edamame avocado bean salad. The son got a pasta combo for $18.99. I really liked his mac and cheese; the pasta salad was fine. I wasn't a fan of his peanut butter chocolate chip cookie (too much pb, not enough choc) The daughter really liked her potatoes dauphinois. Her side of roasted cauliflower, mushrooms, and broccoli were fine, but the pierogies were exceptional. This place drains your wallet little by little. I suggested it because I thought it would make sense to have a cheaper lunch but I'm not sure it was. Especially by the time we got dessert. (But it was worth it!) The next day the husband and I had the lentil wrap - he ordered it the first day and was a fan. It was kind of like Amy's brand of samosas but better and fresh. It definitely grows on you. The daughter was not as into her chicken with cornflake breading. The son got the lasagna but thought the previous day's mac n cheese was better.

If they stayed open a little later they could get a lot more service. I walked in 5 minutes before closing and they locked the door behind me. My husband said 6 or 7 people walked up and were turned away in the 10 minutes I was in. Sandwiches looked good, I wish I could spend more time. Lovely baskets and plants as well.
