My beloved Abyssina Ethiopian restaurant across the street has been sold to a new owner. I knew…read moreabout Kind Bean Cafe by visiting one time before and thought it was pretty good. They have now become my go to place for Ethiopian when I am in the Sacramento area. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and placed our order at the counter. They also serve breakfast, speciality coffees and a variety of drinks. We ordered the veggie platter, gored gored and chicken tibs. Absolutely delicious!!! The shiro was the best I have had in a long time. Everything was hot and fresh. The dressing on the salad really stood out and the leaves were nice and crispy. The restaurant is small but welcoming. You sit where you would like. After placing your order and paying at the counter, and they will bring the food out to you. Kind Bean Cafe is located in a small strip mall. I highly recommend. We will be back.

Unfortunately I bookmarked this place because ratings were high but it was lacking in almost all areas: customer service, ambience and food. Tried the vegetarian combo plate but Holy spicy Batman, 3 out of 5 were way too spicy like at a 3 Alarm level. This cook doesn't like vegetables because they feel they need to add shit load of chili to cover up real vegetable flavors. Too bad, the cabbage was the only vegetable dish that was good and like typical Ethiopian food is supposed to be. I've never seen or tasted other dishs prepared the same way elsewhere as they do here. Spinach is spicy here, not elsewhere, lentils are half cooked here. As for the other brown mush, it's extremely spicy and inedible. While asking for add on, ala carte, this woman wasn't willing to accommodate. No one is asking for free but not willing to accept an extra order off menu isn't the smartest business decision. Lastly their overhead menu prices aren't up to date and I wasn't told so. I asked after I was charged why the price discrepancy and she simply said the overhead menu isn't up to date. Well yes it costs money to update so invest in a monitor where you can adjust the price easily, but this needs to be done because it's dishonest to your customers! Not greeted with the usual warmth of the culture, so I'm only left with the impression of the Unkind Bean experience.

This is your go-to place for desserts. The pastries are off the chart. They got everything you could possibly want. Bear claws, pecan rolls, cookies, danishes, chocolate croissant, croissants, tiramisu, chocolate cake, cheesecake, and on and on and on. I've had most of the things that just listed and they really appealed to my inner fat man. Whenever I walk in there and I see the pastries just waiting for me behind the glass It's like an edible amusement park. Now I've also had breakfast there. You can order pancakes and we often order the blueberry pancakes with eggs and bacon and their bacon is perfect, and the eggs are fluffy. It's a solid breakfast. Plus you know I'm not eating that without a pastry on the side. This service is incredible. Everyone is so helpful and even if there's a long line it moves fast. The waiters waitresses and bust people are on it. Dishes don't pile up on tables. Even though the parking lot is packed and you go in there and the restaurant may be packed You're still going to find a table. I like sitting out on the patio because it's not as noisy as being inside. Now my girlfriend and I have been regular customers of elite bakery on Fair oaks boulevard and that place is also five stars. But Ettore's edges them out because of a larger menu, daily specials and a larger selection of pastries. Plus it's a little cheaper. This is a bad place to go if you're on a diet. But other than that go there and get your grub on. I'm there all the time. You'll probably see me there. This place gets the coveted four pigs.

The service has changed A LOT, it's so much better and everyone is so nice. They have done their fair share of improvement, I even got complimented???? I don't like being hard on waiters and servers since I know their jobs are hard, so I will always give credit when credit is due! The food is also somehow better, and I would recommend their potatoes.. PS: I feel like everytime I go, I get scouted by Christians that give me brochures to about Christ and Jesus?? Love my Christian brothers but it definitely gets uncomfortable at times!

Austin, the manager, is such a friendly & hospitable person to chat with. He is passionate about the flavor creations he tinkers with, & all the syrups are made in-house. He's happy to explain the menu to new customers. We enjoyed the seasonal pumpk.n spice as a foam.top iced latte last time, & found it just as tasty as a hot latte this time around. It is really flavorful, & I wanna say it has a delightful floral note. We also tried the seasonal mint.d mocha as a hot latte & liked it. It was subtly flavored, but enjoyable. I think the syrup settles to the bottom, so swirl as you sip. Neither drink is too sweet, & both were at a warm vs hot temperature. We ordered the cafe.bar.wich with a side of green chile lime sauce. It was packed with flavor & rich from ingredients like buttery bread, mayo, & bacon. The lime sauce is a must--a delicious bright note that cuts through all the richness. We previously tried the cruz (very interesting combo of strong coffee and chai with a distinct lavender floral note) & a club.nini (another tasty, but super rich sandwich), which were great. This is part of the Sacramento Youth Center, so a very worthwhile organization to support. The menu offers many memorable & unique flavor combinations. They offer a drinks rewards card--buy 6 & you get your 7th free!

And today was no exception. This is a long-time casual and comfortable cafe which has loyally been serving the neighborhood well. Breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. The Community people count their lucky stars to have Bella Bru (and it's Luna Lounge) providing whatever it is you might want in terms of coffees, bakery items, main food items, wine... all served in a beautiful, modern and clean atmosphere. Dog friendly patio, bike parking and plenty of free public parking too! Wish I lived closer. I would be having my coffee and breakfast weekly in the lovely outdoors! Or my HH wine/cocktails. Service is wonderful! I have always received 5-star Yelp customer service from Bella Bru employees. Definitely service with a smile. I could not resist stopping by today and grabbing an oatmeal and a peanut butter homemade cookie to take home for dessert. They are soooo good! I ordered the cab off the happy hour menu. It hit the spot. My friend and I shared the fire roasted artichoke which was cooked perfectly, with a little char just how we like it. The aioli dipping sauce was very flavorful and the perfect compliment. The bread and butter were nice too. Great place to meet up with a friend or a mellow date night. If you're around when they have their quiche make sure you order it as it's to die for!

Now with only two people taking orders and making drinks during the lunch rush, the line and wait times are much longer. We ordered pizza and fries and I could see them sitting by the kitchen for about 10 minutes before they were brought to us, so they arrived barely warm. I also ordered two sides of their house-made ranch (which cost extra) but only received one. When I asked a server about the second ranch I had already paid for, she brushed me off with attitude. I had to ask multiple times and wait another 10+ minutes just to get something we were already charged for. Overall the service felt disorganized and slow. Unfortunately I won't be returning to this location anytime soon.
