My beloved Abyssina Ethiopian restaurant across the street has been sold to a new owner. I knew…read moreabout Kind Bean Cafe by visiting one time before and thought it was pretty good. They have now become my go to place for Ethiopian when I am in the Sacramento area. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and placed our order at the counter. They also serve breakfast, speciality coffees and a variety of drinks. We ordered the veggie platter, gored gored and chicken tibs. Absolutely delicious!!! The shiro was the best I have had in a long time. Everything was hot and fresh. The dressing on the salad really stood out and the leaves were nice and crispy. The restaurant is small but welcoming. You sit where you would like. After placing your order and paying at the counter, and they will bring the food out to you. Kind Bean Cafe is located in a small strip mall. I highly recommend. We will be back.

And don't be shy, use your hands, tear off a small piece of the bread, wrap up some stew, and enjoy! If there are two or more of you, the staff may ask if you want to have everything on one plate. Say yes unless you really don't want to. This is how food is traditionally served, diners gathering around a large platter to share various stews and salads, sometime offering a morsel to an honored guest or loved one. A beautiful tradition of sharing, caring and bonding. The place is not fancy, but it's very bright and clean. A shame though there's no fancy setup for making coffee the traditional way... the coffee comes in a paper cup like anywhere else.

Of course I'd known about Ettore's for some time now like most sacramentoans but I just started…read moregoing to it in the past 6 months and I've been to it many many times since then. This is your go-to place for desserts. The pastries are off the chart. They got everything you could possibly want. Bear claws, pecan rolls, cookies, danishes, chocolate croissant, croissants, tiramisu, chocolate cake, cheesecake, and on and on and on. I've had most of the things that just listed and they really appealed to my inner fat man. Whenever I walk in there and I see the pastries just waiting for me behind the glass It's like an edible amusement park. Now I've also had breakfast there. You can order pancakes and we often order the blueberry pancakes with eggs and bacon and their bacon is perfect, and the eggs are fluffy. It's a solid breakfast. Plus you know I'm not eating that without a pastry on the side. This service is incredible. Everyone is so helpful and even if there's a long line it moves fast. The waiters waitresses and bust people are on it. Dishes don't pile up on tables. Even though the parking lot is packed and you go in there and the restaurant may be packed You're still going to find a table. I like sitting out on the patio because it's not as noisy as being inside. Now my girlfriend and I have been regular customers of elite bakery on Fair oaks boulevard and that place is also five stars. But Ettore's edges them out because of a larger menu, daily specials and a larger selection of pastries. Plus it's a little cheaper. This is a bad place to go if you're on a diet. But other than that go there and get your grub on. I'm there all the time. You'll probably see me there. This place gets the coveted four pigs.

The pastries are good, but their service was not acceptable. When we almost decided to leave the cafe, an employee came and helped (not asked to come by the manager), just came after us standing there. Other staff were polite. Being an Ettore's customer for almost 10+ years, we found the service subpar.

Austin, the manager, is such a friendly & hospitable person to chat with. He is passionate about the flavor creations he tinkers with, & all the syrups are made in-house. He's happy to explain the menu to new customers. We enjoyed the seasonal pumpk.n spice as a foam.top iced latte last time, & found it just as tasty as a hot latte this time around. It is really flavorful, & I wanna say it has a delightful floral note. We also tried the seasonal mint.d mocha as a hot latte & liked it. It was subtly flavored, but enjoyable. I think the syrup settles to the bottom, so swirl as you sip. Neither drink is too sweet, & both were at a warm vs hot temperature. We ordered the cafe.bar.wich with a side of green chile lime sauce. It was packed with flavor & rich from ingredients like buttery bread, mayo, & bacon. The lime sauce is a must--a delicious bright note that cuts through all the richness. We previously tried the cruz (very interesting combo of strong coffee and chai with a distinct lavender floral note) & a club.nini (another tasty, but super rich sandwich), which were great. This is part of the Sacramento Youth Center, so a very worthwhile organization to support. The menu offers many memorable & unique flavor combinations. They offer a drinks rewards card--buy 6 & you get your 7th free!

*Celebrating Woman- owned Bella Bru!*…read more This is a review shouting out about the BEST pastries and coffee drinks which I enjoy whenever I am anywhere near the Carmichael, Bella Bru location! And today was no exception. This is a long-time casual and comfortable cafe which has loyally been serving the neighborhood well. Breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. The Community people count their lucky stars to have Bella Bru (and it's Luna Lounge) providing whatever it is you might want in terms of coffees, bakery items, main food items, wine... all served in a beautiful, modern and clean atmosphere. Dog friendly patio, bike parking and plenty of free public parking too! Wish I lived closer. I would be having my coffee and breakfast weekly in the lovely outdoors! Or my HH wine/cocktails. Service is wonderful! I have always received 5-star Yelp customer service from Bella Bru employees. Definitely service with a smile. I could not resist stopping by today and grabbing an oatmeal and a peanut butter homemade cookie to take home for dessert. They are soooo good! Treat yourself and become a regular too so you can enjoy all the delicious goodies/food Bella Bru has to offer. Yum!

Love coming to this place. Great location, super clean, very prompt staff and lovely setting…read more I went and had the Bacon Avocado Omelette which came with sour dough bread with Jam (which was the best Jam I've ever had) and herbed potatoes. I was really disappointed with the service at Cafe Bernardo at the Pavilion. Since my last visit,…read morethey've changed the ordering process and now everyone has to stand in line at the counter. It used to be possible to order through a QR code, which worked much better. Now with only two people taking orders and making drinks during the lunch rush, the line and wait times are much longer. We ordered pizza and fries and I could see them sitting by the kitchen for about 10 minutes before they were brought to us, so they arrived barely warm. I also ordered two sides of their house-made ranch (which cost extra) but only received one. When I asked a server about the second ranch I had already paid for, she brushed me off with attitude. I had to ask multiple times and wait another 10+ minutes just to get something we were already charged for. Overall the service felt disorganized and slow. Unfortunately I won't be returning to this location anytime soon.
