Service, selection, and value is what you would expect from a Costco location. This is the closest Costco from Faro, Portugal (a little over two hours drive) and yes some people actually travel from Lisbon, Portugal to get to this Costco. The deli menu is about the same with on exception, the chicken pizza (it was the bomb). The product is what you would expect from a Costco location, this Spanish Costco exposes the masses to what the traditional Costco shoppers experience. The biggest exception will be the traditional cultural products that is available to the are. I had to give a 1 star because this review is mainly for the online process. this is my main location to shop at and everything is great had some run ins with some over opinionated employees in past but for the most part shopping here is smooth and find most of what I need sometimes they don't have favorites but I understand shelves are limited and they want to offer new things. I don't like the pushiness of upgrading membership when I buy a certain amt done that already and I know how it works 2% rewards for higher subscription only works if I buy enough for year that the rewards goes above or least equals extra pyt for dues or not worth it. My main gripe is the difficulty in ordering anything online. It's ridiculous! I've tried several times and can't get done without several cancelled orders and having to call to sort out. I place order under my membership and apparently using my husbands credit card to pay is not allowed due to fraud? He's on the membership too and ship and billing address same so? I end up editing several times to make sure from last call to customer svc that all match and still my order gets cancelled and idk anymore. So even with the discounted price and ease of returns I am forced to order from vendor site direct they have free returns no hassle and I just can't spend so much time for a process thats suppose to be so simple everywhere else. This whole fraud thing reason needs to be addressed because it can't be this difficult! Paying alittle more is worth it to have my time back and no frustration trying to get something in a timely manner taking several weeks! I'll stick to going in store but ordering online I give up! If you have seen one Costco, you have seen them all. With that being said, Spanish Costcos look pretty much the same, but offerings are not nearly as plentiful as in the USA. They have familiar KIrkland brands of toilet paper, golf balls and so on, but many that we have been used to in America do not exist in Spain. Products include many Spanish brands and are tailored to Spanish tastes, as it should be, so when you buy a 'tortilla', you go home with a big, round omelet. I have been able to find tortillas I am more familiar with in their bakery department from time to time, They have some of the same products found in the US, thank God, like the big jars (2) of salsa I really love, but no giant jars of kimchee ... WHAT! You can eat the same hot dogs, french fries, and pizzas as you are leaving the store, but you cannot order online, in Seville anyway, and have an item delivered to your home or the store. I was able to save €500 recently on a 2022 Macbook Air (M2) over an identical laptop available in Portugal. Memberships are also much cheaper in Spain, more than half the price of a US membership. That's right...I don't review chains in the US typically, but will for those outside. I am an avid Costco fan and wanted to see what the international scene was like so we came here in the midst of our vacation. It was laid out just like a Costco in the US. Some unique items included carpacio and whole ham legs (cured ham). Otherwise, samples were abound as usual and the food court had many of the same items, including the hot dog and drink for 1.25 Euro. Oh ya, and there was underground parking for this Costco. You could use almost any credit card. Fun experience. read more
