This is a comment on a product display sales person at the Orillia location. Roxanne was giving Cliff Energy Bar samples today around noon. Even though she'd cut up over 50 pieces, she kept telling me to come back. My husband was buying an Apple TV nearby so after several attempts I finally returned as she handed a gentleman 2 samples. Again she refused to give me one stating she was not ready. I said you just gave that man 2 samples. I told her I was going to complain. I found the person overseeing display stations named Hamish and he apologized getting me 2 energy bars. On my way to checkout I noticed Roxanne had moved her station. I confronted her to tell her I lodged a complaint asking her why she gave a sample to the man. I told her I had run into that customer and he said he too found it strange because she gave him samples without hassle. She said he asked about thickness of the bars and was going to purchase it. But how could she know I wouldn't. I told her she had no business being in customer service. She said "too bad, there's nothing you can do about it". I went back to my cart to retrieve the free bars and returned them to her. To my surprise the manager Hamish was consoling her and when I told him what she'd said he said to ME "See now you've upset her". I was livid!! I got home, called Costco admin and he merely relayed my concern to this same manager, said he apologized and if I needed to escalate in writing, I should. So here's the thing, I cannot support a company who employs insensitive arrogant people. I intend to close my Costco account where we spend 8-10k annually. Costco shrugs because she is not their employee. I returned home with an elevated blood pressure, 2 days out from my recent medical procedure at 67 yo. I don't need to be shamed and upset for a 2 inch piece of energy bar. If you shop at this store don't ask Roxanne for a sample. I hope she gets fired!!! read more
