We have been coming to this Costco for over ten years. I've always admired this location for their friendliness and professionalism. As we were exiting the store yesterday afternoon, my five year old politely asked the lady checking our receipt for a smiley face. She responded with "we don't do those anymore". She was very rude. This completely goes against any experience we have ever had at this store. A simple gesture would have taken her half a second. I'm appalled with this employee. I hope this isn't a new thing Costco. I experienced the worst customer service ever at the TMobile Kiosk in Costco (La Quinta) Eric (manager) of the kiosk was great during the sales pitch but after I purchased 2 iPhone 8 series and returned to Costco the following week to have him transfer the data from the old phones to the new phones it became a whole different story. He was upset that we came in on a Sunday (supposedly busiest day?) and instructed us to go home and transfer the phones on our computers ??? I just received my 2 pair of glasses one clear and the other is a sun glasses and both have Transitional lenses. I couldn't be happier.Ther prescription was filled perfectly and was measured correctly for the transitional lenses I highly recommend Costco for glasses. Yay, Costco! They even have their own street named after them: "costco drive". This Costco kinda hides in back behind Mimi's Cafe/BevMo and Souplantation, off of Hwy 111. But you'll notice the parking space here is unbelievably ample for the amount of guests who come here. I always find myself buying more than I really need..especially because everything is in bulk. One time I walked out with a 28 oz bag of spinach.. And it doesn't really help if you come here hungry. The samples will get to you! The biggest plus here is the gas station. The attendants are so friendly, especially to those who need help. You just tap your horn, and they're there for your assistance. Not to mention, the prices are so competitive. On a Sunday night, Costco's premium gas was $3.49 per gallon. USA down the street had $3.55 for premium, and Chevron was $3.93. read more

I loved this location, I hadn't been to a Costco in years and when I went with my grandma all of the staff was friendly. They have such a large selection you could get lost in there. My grandma and I had actually found a misprint on one of their breads, we told them about it and they laughed and we had a nice small conversation. They fixed it, and it was nice to have that personable contact - that's rare in customer service. Everything we needed was stocked, everyone was super helpful as we asked questions. I purchased my hearing aids at Costco, because I was going to be able to speak with someone and get in if I needed help. That did not turn out to be the case. You call and go to voicemail that nobody answers until after 4 o'clock and if you're not lucky enough to pick it up at 4 o'clock you have to wait until 4 o'clock the next day and if you miss that day then it just goes on and on. So very disappointing from the standpoint of service and very frustrating. No one ever answers the phone. If I had to do over again, I would pick someplace else. read more

His name is Alex R. 1) We weren't aware that we couldn't hand our card to the cashier (covid protocol) and he gave an attitude about it instead of educating us. 2) He was calling us unkind names in Spanish assuming we wouldn't understand. 3) He didn't verify the ID for us for the alcohol, not sure if they aren't required to but it's to be noted. In the desert we used to have to drive to the Rancho Mirage location unit they built the La Quinta one. Gas lines are shorter here, the lines in general are much shorter, faster and the place is less crowded. I love that there are so many employees that have been there forever. It's comforting to go into the eyeglass , tire or even meat area and see the same face. I must say the customer service for me has always been warm, friendly, and genuine. I get the feeling that the employees are having fun. They are quick to smile and help and I have been impressed by how often they anticipate your needs even without asking. Customer service, primarily check out, is horrible. Just left there and will be a long time before we think about going back. Prices and products aren't so special that customer service doesn't matter. Costco used to be an adventure, always something new with pleasant employees that seemed happy to be there. Don't know if it's the people they hire or the push to move fast, but no "hello", smile or even acknowledgment I was standing with money in hand to support their business. Rather, I felt an attitude of bother & disinterest. I have been told Palm Desert store is friendlier and nicer to shop at. May try there or just go to WalMart, at least there I can just drive up, pick up, and feel appreciated. read more

When my family travels, our firat search is for a Costco Warehouse. Really glad to find out that there's a Costco in Indio, with a gasoline station. Last time we were in town we drove all the way to Palm Springs. My family and I went to the food court for hotdogs, chicken bake and a whole box of pizza. And so while the line was quite long, I decided to order the pizza by calling 1 (760) 775-0375. The lady who answered took my order and told me it'll take 10 minutes. 10 minutes?, wow, that's impressive I thought. Ok then! 2 minutes later, husband and I are at the register ordered our hotdog and chicken bake, and paid for all including our box of pizza. Lady tells me, it'll be about 10 minutes. So the family and I sit down and I set my timer for 10 minutes. As 10 minutes go by, my daughter goes up to pick up our pizza, however 5 minutes after she has not returned yet. As I go there, she informs me the pizza is not ready. More people come by and pick up their pizzas. At the 20 minite mark, I inquire a oit our pizza and the guy takes our receipt, to later on return and say there are a lot more people ahead of my number "437". And so I ask a lady mext to me what her # was as she was waiting as well. #357!!! As I ask the pizza guy how long is the wait, he aswers me "We're backed up, there are more people in front of you. You just have to be patient!!" In which I answered , "you don't tell people 10 minutes my pizza will be ready then!!! HOW.LONG?!?!" And as he begrudgingly packs a pepperoni pizza (and almost drops it) he says, "Ok-ok here!!!" You see, you never tell someone their food will be ready in 10, and make them wait 20, and at that time not have an answer when their food will be ready and tell them to be PATIENT!!! If your pizza will take 30-45 minutes to bake, tell the customer before they order and pay! This is a major communication failure between Costco Food Court Staff. Worst Costco experience ever. read more

We asked if we could purchase the display model and were told no since they would be available at another store. He said he was doing what he could do to help to help his team and that is a perfect example of a great manager! He was helping customers even load up their cars with their groceries. Costco Tire Center, La Quinta, CA I ordered and paid for the tire online, had to wait over two weeks for delivery as it wasn't in stock at nearby locations in La Quinta or Palm Desert. Went in on appointment day and waited 10 minutes at the counter before someone appeared. I had a printed appointment notice but still took the attendant another 10 minutes before he found the info in his computer. He then left for over 5 minutes only to return and say they hadn't received the tire yet. Then he said couldn't help with rescheduling, I had to call customer service. Very frustrating to say the least. Wish I'd gone to any other tire store. The online appointment website is not run by Costco and there's an obvious disconnect with the tire center and its logistics/distribution network. read more

My friends and I had a very unpleasant and racist experience at this location. We were on vacation and wanted to purchase 3 items. Tampons, fruit, and liquor. After the "white" lady rung up our items, scanned my valid member card, and my id. She continued to want to see everyone's face and then ask for my is again. Then refused to sell us fruit and tampons, but said the manger will allow us to buy liquor. What type of sense does that make? All because the card holder has my mother names on it. The issue is we watched other cashier and even ours, did not ask any other customer to see their ID to match with their membership card. Other customer, just had their card scanned and transactions completed. We were the only black people at time. We felt discriminated against and do not recommend you support this location. I stopped at Costco right around 8 pm, which I believe is closing time, hoping to use their air pump to fill a low tire. Now this is embarrassing, but somehow during this process, I released air from my tire ‍.... Then appeared my superhero, Matt. He was kind enough and offered to assist me, by this point, my tire was so low he requested I move the vehicle closer to the auto shop. Matt introduced me to Jordan, they went above and beyond to help me out, filled my low tire and checked the other three tires to ensure they were all safe & even showed me where to check where my tires should be at. Although I was quite embarrassed by this point, Matt and Jordan were patient, kind and extremely informative. I was humbled by my experience & highly recommend utilizing Costcos tire/ auto center.
