One must go all the way to the back of the store to the meat counter and ask the butcher for the house made queso fresco or queso crema. It's a plus if you speak Spanish, or befriend a fellow customer who may be able to help you. The queso crema tastes homemade. It has that fresh cheese smell. It's great with chips, on enchiladas, tacos, nachos, on a spoon (not kidding), it's great on everything. The queso fresco has a wet salty bite, but not too salty and its the perfect accompaniment to whatever Mexican inspired meal your cooking up in the kitchen. From now on, I'll be measuring all future queso to the standard set here. The bar is high. Come to this store for the queso. They also have a nice small store selection of other common items.
