Bruised and bloody fingers.... Overall vibe upon entering was not good. Not friendly. Dirty and empty ( never a good sign!) Male technician took a 15 min smoke break despite our past appointment time. Lisa was very rough. So much so that 4 of my nail beds were bleeding and my index finger is bruised. Uneven filing and overall sloppy. She used dirty towels and the tools were grimy and dirty. I should have walked out. When I told her my nails were bleeding, she copped an attitude and said it was MY fault. Blamed it on dry nails and dismissed it. I repeatedly told her to stop. She roughly pushed my nails down to soak and angrily removed the dip causing more damage to my nail beds. Left with my nails looking like this. Awful! I have to wait for the nails to heal before going elsewhere and just praying I don't get a nasty infection. Go elsewhere! read more

WORST NAIL EXPERIENCE EVER! if i could give them zero stars i would. First of all, they made me pay in the middle of my service, not once they finished. Their nail polish was old and she kept trying to thin it out with acetone instead of getting a new bottle. She also messed up my nail while trying to fan them dry and refused to fix it! The worst nail experience I have ever had. Would never recommend anyone. First, we had 2 appointments for 3pm. I was seen at 3:20 ... my friend waited until my 45 minute nail session was done and was never seen. Second, I got acrylic and gel - these nails are SO thick. They did not file down at all! The ends of my nails are missing color and a look chipped. They also really hurt so I am looking to get removed ASAP. Cosmos could not get me in a reasonable time. I called to try and remedy the issue and after a lot of talk about trying to "squeeze me in" I asked if I could just send her a photo of my nails or a refund and she turned very nasty and ended up hanging up on me. I was not planning to write a negative review until that. I would avoid this company and go somewhere else with more experience and professionalism. Please do not go here. You will be treated like your a criminal. I went here yesterday and it was the worst experience at a nail salon. We showed pics of what we wanted and I was told $55 for my toe nails plus $60 for the royal pedicure, $10 for rhinestones, 5 for French tip. Over $120 for just TOE NAILS?? No design? Just a few rhinestones on each big toe. I said no thanks and got the royal pedi with regular polish. I was told it was $5 extra for polish and I said no it says on the description it's included. They tired to overcharge any chance they got. I did not get a 20 min massage, I did not get a neck warmer, no paraffin wax. My nails were not filed even, cuticles looked horrible, polish was bubbly, thick, uneven in spots, I still had calluses, still had dead skin, the $60 pedi did NOTHING!! They got mad my sister didn't get the $60 pedi and the guy who's the horrible manager threw his hands up in the air like he was pissed off at her. My sister got gel polish with the pedicure gold which was the same as the $60 pedi. They just act like it's luxurious but it's not. The paraffin wax is supposed to make like a shell of your foot but hers did not, they asked if her if it's hot she said yes extremely hot they did nothing, it was in a bag and they just mushed the wax around her foot, the wax never got hard like it was supposed too. We were planning to get the dip nails but decided not too because of the issues already and they really got mad at us. We were there for over 2 hours and 1 other customer was in the salon the whole time which I thought was odd that there wasn't many customers. 2 hours for horrible toe nails not even nails. They asked if we'd come back for the nails we said no. It got even worse they used unsanitary tools, no new files, no new cuticle cutters, they also used the actual cheese greater on her feet and on mine they used razor to take dead skin off. Which is unhygienic and illegal in Missouri. I'm shocked how this place is in business still. We looked at the reviews after and there are PLENTY of bad reviews on their Yelp and Google Reviews. We told them to take it off our nails. They did. They said we can fix it perfect well why didn't you? We said no. They said ok how are you going to pay, I said pay for what! He said the nails, I said I have nothing on my nails and I got it all on video. He said hurry go lock the door to the lady and call the police. We didn't even move towards the door. My sister was still in her chair. The door was in the front we were in the back in the pedi chairs. I could not believe the situation escalated insanely fast for them to act like that mind you I have everything on video. We didn't walk towards the door we didn't act disrespectful towards them or anything. For them to treat us like criminals is absolutely ridiculous and insane. The cops came. We explained the situation, we showed pics and said we had video and they seen neither of us had anything on our nails or toes. They went back inside to talk to them. They were very nice and told us we didn't have to pay. We told them like we didn't try to run out or anything. To be treated like that is really crazy too me they really locked the door and we didn't even move yet. I would recommend to never come here!! Look at photos! read more

If there was an option to not give any stars I would but unfortunately I have to give them this one. Me and my SIL had an appointment at 11 the other day came there in time sat down picked out colors and told them what we were wanting. The first issue was the prices which should of been pretty understandable because it was all online right well wrong! They told us 3 different prices for the same thing we asked them all those times. Whole time played us stupid trying to have us get the most expensive pedi and mani and I wasn't having it so I went over the prices a few times just to make things clear so there wouldn't be a misunderstanding in the end. As soon as we got done settling on the prices and what we wanted their attitudes completely changed and the "manager" switched with another employee and made me wait forever while they were clearly talking about us the whole time! Ignorant and rude I'd say. Then we didn't even get half the things that came along the list in the pedis and when we confronted them at the end it was an issue. First off they used illegal tools on our feet unsanitary cuticle cutter, used files, and graters which also look like the ones you would use in food and not feet which was extremely concerning. The lady told me not to worry and it hasn't been used when it was clearly sitting in the basket with other unsanitary tools. The lady that worked on my pedi was horrible she had no clue what she was doing and I've gotten my feet done for years and never got any type of service like that. Both of our nail lady's claimed they had 29 years experiences and we were shocked because it was terrible work. I had my feet soaking for over 20 mins because she would switch out with the manager and they would leave me there just waiting for no reason and there wasn't anyone there! She put my feet in the bag of wax which was extremely hot and didn't ask me until afterwards while my feet were burning. She scrapped my big toe so much my skin still hurts and is irritated and also red they both filled my nails down so much that they are super thin and fragile and I'm terrified to go get them done again.. as to all that happening we told them we didn't want to continue with the service as for the mani we also wanted they started getting frustrated and offering to do more which made no sense as to why they couldn't do everything right in the first place. It was frustrating because I had to tell them their mistakes and I was aggravated at that point so they started being nice and forcing me to let them redo my nails which I didn't want the experience was horrible enough I had to leave they already told up more than 2 hours of my time. The manager is rude and ignorant as hell and he had the nerves to point and yell in our faces and threatening us to call the cops which he did (not like we ran out the store or anything) we explained to the cops everything and they let us go. We really wish we had read the reviews and there was only one person the whole time we were there which was odd and also they did our pedis for 2 hours and 30 minutes ridiculous! This place is horrible and need to be inspected by the health department which I also reached out to! read more

I am new to the area, and requested the same service I've been getting for five years at my previous salon: dip mani, coffin shaped, with tips on top of my natural nail tips since I type for work and tend to crack my nails. This place cuts corners at every stop. Instead of letting my nails soak long enough to fully remove the dip powder, they let them soak for a few minutes, then sanded most of the remaining color, then started gluing tips right on top of the old powder. I did mention multiple times that I preferred to have my nails fully clean, and was met with a hateful attitude by the man working. Not surprised that this place had openings while ever other salon was booked. read more

HORRIBLE!!!!! this was the worst nail experience i have EVER had. first off, we were not greeted upon walking in. only one other lady was getting her nails done in the whole salon and not a single other person came in throughout our experience... my mom and i were sat down to start soaking off our previous dip and the lady doing it immediately caught an attitude with us. she then abruptly asked us to move to different tables while in foils. she continued working on my moms nails while i sat for over 30 minutes soaking and waiting for someone to start on me. the guy who supposed to be doing them went out and took a 15 minute smoke break and then came in and proceeded to just stand and play on his phone for another 15 minutes while i remained sitting there. finally, my mom had to ask when someone will start working on my nails and the lady laughed and asked him to start, he did but seemed annoyed doing so. he asked if i wanted to cut down my nails and i said yes. he continued on filing and shaping them and i reminded him that i did want them cut down and he said i never said that. he then proceeded to cut down ALL OF MY NAILS to little nubs, i have been growing my nails out for years so i am extremely disappointed and upset. he then roughly filed and manhandled my hands in an aggressive manner. he didn't shape them at all how they were when i came in. i asked for the french tip line to be thin and it's rigged and sloppy looking, the line is uneven. the lady doing my moms nails ended up bruising and cutting four of her nails, leaving her in quite a bit of pain, and then arguing that it was her fault afterwards. the guy doing my nails kept getting up to go try and fix her nails after she repeatedly asked for them to just be removed. my nails look incredibly sloppy and the top coat is even smudged in some places. the salon was very dirty and they used dirty equipment and dirty rags that had nail filing and chunks left on them from previous customers, i won't be surprised if we end up with an infection later. i was then charged over $50 for the ugliest set of nails i have ever received and worst experience. the woman's name was lisa and im not sure of the man's but moral of the story, DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Came in for pink and white ombré coffin shaped nails. The entire time the tech was doing my nails he was talking up himself and his work. With in days my hair as I'd wash it would get stuck underneath my nails.. the side closest to the cuticle. All of them started do it. The nails were not grinding down enough, I had huge humps in my nails as soon as they started growing. He said "see you in three weeks" when I had left getting them done. I had to get the redone asap and with a nail tech that actually knows what they're doing. read more

I don't like leaving negative reviews, but this was the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. I made an appointment for a Friday morning for a regular mani and pedi in preparation for my wedding that weekend. I made an appointment with Lisa based on the good reviews, but when I got there I was told that Lisa wasn't there that day so I'll be with a different tech. I was a little hesitant but went along with it since my wedding was the next day. I didn't get the name of this nail tech, but she was terrible and so rude. She first tried to upsell me on the services despite me telling her no several times, it made me kind of uncomfortable. I had a hard time picking the color for my nails. The customer sitting next to me was nice enough to try to help me, and asked the nail tech if she could bring over a couple of options. The tech scoffed and rolled her eyes and said things in Vietnamese, clearly talking about us. She then repeatedly made comments to me about how the woman should pay for my nails, how she was acting like my mom, over and over again. Both of us were very uncomfortable. On top of all of this, she did a horrible job on my nails as evident from the photo I took right afterwards. It was thick, uneven, and looked worse than when I do my nails my self. She also put alcohol over my cuticles instead of oil or moisturizer so they were left extremely dry. I should have said something, but I was so upset and confused that I just wanted to go home. I had to remove the polish and paint them myself afterwards. I would give 0 stars if I could. What a terrible way to start my wedding weekend. read more

I'm giving a 2 star rating only because I'm incorporating past experiences prior to mine tonight--consider this a MEDIAN score because if I were basing this review off of tonight, it would be NEGATIVE 5. I frequented this business before and after they reopened amongst a pandemic. I was there masked and willing when barely anyone was venturing out for the luxury of having your nails done...just needed some sense of normalcy at the time. I'm easy going and tip 30-40% every time because as a service worker, I know how much those tips help. Anyway, I've been away from Cosmo Nails for a couple of months now because the owners act as though my business is an inconvenience. "Nails are too short for gel," "you need dip because your nails are weak," etc. Maybe I'm a nuisance: I've had a few dip and gel manicures throughout the past year or so that have chipped within a few days, so I came back for "repairs," offering compensation almost every time. It occurred to me tonight, gel and dip manicures shouldn't chip from typing if done correctly. Other than that, I can't think of any other reason why I was treated so poorly tonight. I usually don't review local businesses online because I want the best for local business owners and think it's shady to trash talk from behind a screen, but in this instance, I felt the need to give a head's up. I started with a new salon a couple of months ago and had a great experience, but tonight was looking for a quick mani, and headed back to Cosmo for another chance. I walked in and Lisa took me ASAP (after I asked if they were too busy for a walk in). She proceeded to ask what shape I wanted (square or round) and I said I would keep the square shape like my previous manicure. She then filed my nails to oblivion, every single one uneven and tended to other customers that obviously had previously scheduled appointments. AGAIN, I initially asked if they were too busy and she told me to take a seat. After I stated that the nails were uneven she called her husband over to file my nails. He told me multiple times that my nails are too short, to which I replied, "that doesn't change the fact they're all uneven." Why would she ask me what shape I'd like if I they were going to critique the length of my nails and claim that was the reason she did such a terrible job shaping them? Finally, after Paul (Lisa's husband) "shaped" my nails, he left the table and Lisa sent a THIRD person to take care of the manicure. At this point, I asked what I owed for my time there and the services rendered (was told that it was "okay" if i didn't have time wait) and left. I'm insulted by the owners of this business--when paying for a service, one should not be rushed when expecting to have a relaxing experience, or at the very least, should receive a decent product as a result of these technician's expertise. I've never been treated so rudely in my life. Im done with this place. As my grandpa would say, they got "too big for their britches." read more

This salon is bright, clean, and, important to me, welcoming and non-judgmental. I was even asked if I wanted color and was presented with various neutral options. One other important distinction between Cosmo and other salons I have been to was when there was a conversation in their first language, it was then translated; the convo wasn't directed to or about me, but I appreciated the courtesy of not being excluded. My wife was impressed to hear about that, as well. The technician took her time and did an excellent job; she was friendly and offered suggestions and encouragement. This is my second time coming here and they once again did not disappoint! Paul the nail tech has done my nails both times and did an amazing job both times. But the entire staff is so awesome. The pedicure itself was nice, but the lady kept trying to sell me products the whole time while I was trying to relax. I get that is her job but it was just too much and she pointed out the the products were "all natural" and had "no chemicals" but they contained so many alcohols it would just dry my skin out which is the opposite of what they're supposed to do. Also, I think this might be because of my sensitive skin, but after she had massaged my legs she put a hot towel on them and it BURNED. Like it hurt so bad. Again, more than likely not her fault, but I think you should probably not use their deluxe pedicures if you have sensitive skin. My wife went to Cosmo Nails & Spa yesterday to get a manicure after a very difficult week. She had to place her dad in a memory care facility nearby. She went in for a pick me up and came out with so much more. Lisa and all of the staff were friendly and welcoming. She tried the dipping powder manicure. This is the first time she ever got a manicure that was exactly what she asked for and was finished flawlessly. No blemishes, bubbles, or little nicks in the nails. And her nails stood up to the test of scrubbing pet stains out of carpet! She was so impressed I had to write a review. My wife thought surely her nails would be trashed by the clean up. They look just like they did when she walked out of the salon. She will definitely be going back. And I have a new place to get her gift cards! read more
