I met with Cory via Zoom (As I recall). It was just after the pandemic when therapists were short and need was high. Cory's strength is at problem solving--identifying it and offering good common sense suggestions. He's friendly, even jovial. :). He let me bring my husband in on a couple of sessions.
I prefer an approach that gets more information from me than I might initially provide. I like a trust-building process during which I can determine if the counsellor is addressing the individuality of my problems or giving one-size-fits-most help. I need to know the counsellor has a grasp of who I am in order to give advice that works. (For example, history of counselling, education, work, interests, life time disadvantages/losses/traumas, etc.).
