From the outskirts, Grosseto is not a visually very attractive town. But it's well worth a visit, because the historic Center is very charming and still quite little known and underrated.
There's plenty of parking lots around the northern gate. The heart would be the Piazza Dante and the Corso Carducci is the main drag leading there. It's a charming walking street with little to no traffic (closed for public traffic). It's lined with a good number of shops and stores as well as a handful cafes and restaurants. It's a really nice stroll and on a sunday afternoon (in spring) you almost have the town to yourself. read more
