Had a wonderful time and great meals. Started with the tuna sushi and for my entree had the scallops with crab risotto which was outstanding. We love to spend time in Cashiers and the Cornucopia is my favorite lunch spot. This is a no-brainer place to take guests since there are lots of options and everything is delicious, right down to the best Bloody Mary's around. Love the outside mountain atmosphere and fresh ingredients. Plan to wait a bit since it's popular. Remember there's a full bar available, try the Bloody Mary's! read more

Cute restaurant with outdoor seating, perfect for a great view of the mountains. My bf got a turkey sandwich with alfalfa sprouts,etc and I had the bbq pork sandwich with fries. The menu is a little limited but they offer something to make most people happy. The food was good, nothing amazing. It took about 15 minutes for a server to greet us but we were on vacation and not in any rush. Overall this place is ok, good food, ok service, great view. read more

This place wasn't great. It seems like there's been a lot of false buzz produced about this place on Tripadvisor and Yelp. The food is just a baby step up from a greasy spoon fish camp with fine dining prices. Both of our steaks were burnt to a crisp despite ordering them medium and medium rare. The kid actually came out and said "Medium well ribeyes" and we replied that we had ordered medium rare and medium and he said "Oh yeah that's what they are." Our waitress was really nice and the service was very good. If you visit their website or look at their menu it is a bit misleading about the food. It is very overdescribed versions of pretty plain fare. Stuff you wouldn't spend $25 on if you knew what it actually was. I would have rather gone to the barbecue restaurant or somewhere more upscale. read more

Cornucopia is a wonderful restaurant in Cashiers. If there is one place you eat while in Cashiers, make it Cornucopia. Atmosphere with the open air seating and very high ceilings can't be beat. I didn't enjoy their 3 cheese penne pasta but it just wasn't for my taste (i'm sure many people would enjoy it). I love their burgers and get them to go every once in awhile. read more

This restaurant has been our favorite place to go to for the past 4 years, but it was not as great an experience this year as it has been in the past. A bar has been added and some of the outdoor seating has been removed, so it doesn't quite have the same open-air feeling as it had. While the Cobb Salad I had was very good, I can't say that the higher price ($13) than last year made me happy. My wife had the Portobello mushroom sandwich and wasn't overly happy either, as it was quite messy and also seemed overpriced at $13. Our competent waitress was attentive, but not nearly as personable as those in the past. They now serve wine, but the prices seem a bit steep. All I can say is that we used to go here 3-4 times in a week in the past, but we just went the one time this trip. read more

We were vacationing in Cashiers and went to this restaurant for dinner . We loved the atmosphere,, as i read it was a old barn converted into an open style restaurant. The food was excellent , husband said his steak was "fantastic" and my entree was very good too. The bread was different than what we're used to as it was crunchy and had a little spice to it but we really liked it! The entrees were high priced we thought, but we decided to splurge anyway. We had the brownie dessert and it was sooooo good and really rounded out the meal. If we're in the area again, we'll probably go for lunch and try their specialty sandwiches which we heard are wonderful. It was a beautiful restaurant and very enjoyable. read more

Don't eat lunch here unless your afternoon is free. Waited 45 minutes for a sandwich...a cold sandwich. Was told this was a normal wait time when they got busy. Table beside us ordered salads and got them in 10 minutes. None of the staff seemed real concerned when I told them this was unacceptable. Great Culinary, Great Atmosphere, and Great Service .... If you go for lunch anytime in July or on any Holiday Weekend, get there before 11:30 or expect a wait. We go out of our way to eat at this quaint, local Cashiers restaurant. Had two delicious salads. Mine was the Fried Chicken Salad that had crispy strips of freshly fried chicken, pecans, cranberries, and romaine lettuce. It was very good. My wife had a salad with fresh Salmon on it. A little pricey but excellent. Had fresh raspberries and other fruit and cheese. But, I always go there for the cobbler. It has been the best in the past. This peach cobbler was freshly made, but they cut the portion down significantly than the last time I was there. The vanilla ice cream on top seemed more than the small bowl of cobbler. It was delicious, but when sharing, it doesn't go as far as it used to go. Will still come back because it is always a great experience there. read more

This place had great food and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Just like sitting on the porch. The black bean burger was awesome...almost forgot I was eating a veggie burger. You can substitute another side for the chips for $2.00...our waitress didn't tell us this...and it would have been nice, but that's okay. It really was worth it. The portions are very nice and I ended up taking half my sandwich with me. Very pretty bar area as well. Restaurant was very pretty and clean and there's also a little food shop next door. read more

Have eaten here many times with almost always the same experience. The food is good and sometimes really good but the service is lackluster to just plain pitiful- but not this time! Had lunch here on a suggestion by woman working at thrift shop in town. We were on our way to Highlands, where there are more choices, but where you'll also pay more. Great recommendation! Eat lunch here if you're in the area. The huge outdoor covered porch is a real treat. I can't imagine a more "comfortable" feel to a place. There is a lot of history to the place and you can read about it on the walls. It was busy, and I get the feeling, it always is at lunch time. A good place to go if you're in a hurry, but this place is so relaxing, it makes you want to slow down. I've got to go back and try this place for dinner. read more

Party of 6. Took 38 minutes to be seated, that's okay. Took almost 20 minutes to get a drink and order. Not all drinks came. Food took more than 1 hour to be served and some did not get their meal for another 12 minutes. Wait staff was good. 2 hour and 21 minutes for salads and sandwiches. My phone keeps a timer on the service. Won't go back and will pass the word as we are locals. Not pleased. read more

7/31/2012 Had company and really looked forward to eating at the Cornucopia Restaurant. Reservations made for 6...last shift before they closed. Noticed on the menu that the automatically add 20% for parties over 6 which is fine...Unfortunately the wait staff seemed more interested in finishing out the evening, than waiting on us. We bought a bottle of wine in their store before dinner, since they don't sell wine in the restaurant. They brought us wine glasses (wine charge is $2 per person) but forgot to open the wine. Brought us huge brown plastic water "glasses"...when someone at our table needed more water, it was hard to get anyone's attention to refill their glass. Salads were brought out by a bus boy on a jelly sheet, who proceeded to call out the dressings and then deal the salads to each person, like someone dealing a deck of cards. All of the salad plates were hot, must have just come out of the dishwasher. Some of the dishes were scrumptious, my medium rare steak came crispy on the outside, raw on the inside and it took 10 minutes before the waitress came back to check on things. I asked her to take it back. She said she would have them reheat it, I told her I didn't want it any more. She brought it back to me in a to-go box. I told her I didn't want it and she said the chef/owner said he wouldn't take it off the check. I explained to her that I didn't ask her to take it off the check. She told me to take it home to my dog. I expect more, especially when they require a 20% tip on parties over 6. To the waitress' credit, she wrote a note on the check, saying "Please No Tip." But I still tipped her the 20%, just because I use to work in the food industry. We won't go back. read more

We had our after wedding dinner here and everybody commented how this was the BEST wedding food they've ever had. The venue is beautiful. We were able to push together enough tables for our party of 30. The owner put together a custom menu just for us. And even accommodated for some picky eaters (children). The portions were large, and we were all stuffed by the end. There wasn't anything we would change about the whole meal. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely worth the money! I'm amazed people consider this an inexpensive lunch. For $30 we had 2 small sandwiches with chips and water. The sandwiches were only okay. The waitress was unpersonable. The atmosphere felt cold. I used to LOVE this place in the past but now it feels like they are just making money off rich people and resting on their past reputation. I'm sure in summer when it is crowded and open air it has a better atmosphere but be prepared to have an EXPENSIVE lunch with small portions.
