He was having trouble urinating &it was found that his bladder was very full & needed a urinary catheter to help drain it. was told he may have a small bladder stone or sediment that was possibly causing the obstruction &that they could perform this procedure to push the small blockage back in to his bladder. They told me they would give him a light sedation to make him more comfortable. I was not aware this would be anesthesia as they offered none of the pre anesthesia blood work, extra monitoring or signed consent that is a standard in veterinary care. No risks whatsoever were explained. This was performed around 1230 on the 1st. At aprx 1:15 I received a call from Dr Current that the procedure was done and it was successful and obstruction was pushed back into his bladder. He stated they would call me when Chase was ready to be picked up in a couple hours. After no call, I placed a call to the office at 4:10 & was told Chase wasn't ready to be picked up because he was having a hard time waking up. This upset me because we had a trip planned for our daughters 16th birthday which was the same day to Chicago. It was already decided that my husband would stay back &look after Chase since our hotel was non refundable. My daughter &I headed out for Chicago & my husband went to pick Chase up at 530. No vet tech or Dr came to speak to my husband just the receptionist which we later found out was Dr Current's daughter. She handed our dog to him & said you might want to go home &lay him down. No other post care instructions were given. Over the next 24 hours my dog was very lethargic and could only stand on his front two legs but my husband thought this was just due to the medication. On Friday night when he started squealing in pain he rushed him to MedVet. It was the vets opinion there that he was over medicated. She needed to know what he was given which was not on our receipt. We made several attempts to call the office but they have no after hour answering service. In desperation I reached out on Facebook messenger with no response. Then I posted in their comments begging to please call us or medvet. The comments were deleted and we did receive a response from their "finance guy" we were told by the name of Lynk. He forwarded the record on Saturday which did not indicate what medicine or how much Chase was given. I continued to plea with them to have Dr Current call MedVet to let them know what he had. Lynk called MedVet & told them he was "just the finance guy."He told us $ &them he had no way of reaching Dr Current. Our dog continued to go down hill and had to be put down on Sunday due to multiple seizures, probable strokes and lack of oxygen to the brain. he was like a vegetable. The hardest and most heartbreaking decision we ever made. I would have fought to the end for my baby if there was any hope. We requested no records be sent from MedVet to Community as we wanted to talk to them ourselves. When we showed up at opening time Monday morning at the Sidney office we requested to speak with Dr Current. First thing he said when he walked in the room was I heard you guys had a rough weekend. Now how would he have known unless he talked to Lynk. When I asked who Lynk was he said just a guy who does the books. We asked him to do the right thing and credit us the 700 we paid him and help with our 2000 bill at MedVet. He said he did nothing wrong and he would look at everything and get back with us. We have heard nothing so far. He also stated that my dog was up walking and peeing before they sent him home. I do not believe him. In the hour 15 min from the time I spoke to them and my husband picked him up I don't see how that is possible. He could not stand when my husband got there. Also we later found out Lynk "the finance guy" is his son. I am quite sure he had a way to get in touch with his father. We requested he print Chase's medical records and give us a copy. These are the exact same records sent to MedVet with one exception. This one had a medication listed under it. This information could have possibly helped save our sweet boy I don't know about anyone else but this does not seem like the way he is described on their website " a Christian man, he has a deep commitment to the local church and his faith spills over in his professional life with the highest level of care, compassion and integrity" I have spoke to several others who have had their pets die after anesthesia here. My dog was a happy healthy boy who never had any neurological issues before. He had undergone two other surgeries before with no incident. Please if you love your pets do not go here or let them continue to care for your pets .We are now out almost 3000$ and we do not have our sweet boy anymore. He was the kindest most gentle soul and did not deserve this.
