We were with Cornerstone hospice before my dad passed away not even a year ago so I went with them now that my mother's in hospice and what a drastic difference as of today she has no nurse no Social Worker the Team Leader Jamie is absolutely horrific to deal with she talks over people takes no accountability for her employees and is downright rude. Do not believe the five star ratings that you have seen here they are a complete utter and outright lie. They aren't keeping track of her prescriptions. We see them once a week. We haven't seen an aid for two weeks and we cannot even get medicine filled. It's like they really just want the people to die. My father was only in their hospice care for about 45 days before I kept him home up to five days before he died in Cornerstone the grief counselor would not give me counseling because she didn't like the way that I looked wrap your mind around that didn't like the way that I looked. They never found us grief counseling. I'm coming up on losing both of my parents within one year. They don't care they don't offer any services except a volunteer to sit and speak with my mother and she doesn't even want that. They've never given us any community resources to help me out in doing errands or small things around the house and I am burnt out they know it. They know that my actual life was in jeopardy. I had a stroke. My mental health is failing and I'm not able to be there for my mother the way I was with my dad. This is a direct result of the care that we are not receiving from this organization. We don't even know her new team the nurse or the aid or the social worker. Let me just tell you, Leslie the first Social Worker was horrible. It's hard to believe that she even has a license. I'm a social worker so I know I worked in family court for 20 years. The quality of people that they provide is just not good. We tipped them all $50 at Christmas the team separately never heard of thank you and this is the kind of car you get. I just spoke with Jamie today and she literally would not let me get a word in edgewise so I just hung up please if you have a loved one and you want compassion do not under any circumstances use Cornerstone trust me when I say they honestly do not care about a dying person or a patient that needs help and they definitely don't care about the caregiver. After speaking with Our Medicare, we are not receiving the services. We are entitled to, and they've never sent us supplies for personal use no pull-ups no nothing but yet they've build Medicare proving once again. Anything in this area is fraudulent charging to Medicare stay tuned. read more

Our family's experience with this hospice during my mother's final days was deeply disappointing and distressing. During a time when we were told she was deemed "imminent," there were significant gaps in support and communication. A scheduled comfort team visit did not occur, and a nurse declined to go upstairs, leaving us without in-person medical support when we needed it most. After my mother's passing, I received condolence calls from leadership, but I did not receive timely written acknowledgment of my grievance or contact from the grievance team, despite repeated attempts to follow up. Communication was inconsistent, and I was left feeling unheard and unsupported during one of the most vulnerable moments of my life. Hospice care is meant to provide comfort, guidance, and presence--not confusion or fear. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I hope the company reflects on how their processes impact families in crisis and makes improvements so others do not go through what we did. read more

Management does not appear to care for their employees, who often express fear and disappointment at management's lack of support and proper training. Read the reviews from other sites and get a more complete picture of this provider real qualifications. I will not recommend their services. We are trying to change them as soon as possible. Most of their "acceptable to good" reviews are in the past. It was acquired by another company and things are very different now. I can't recommend them enough. my mother is in advanced Alzheimer's and this was the best decision we've made. A nurse comes every week to check her. they shower her 3 times a week. They order and pay for all medications and supplies. anything you need they get it. They provide 5 day respite once a month for my dad to recharge. very happy to have help in this journey read more

All I can and will tell you is, don't believe that the 5 ***** reviews of yesteryear and think they reflect in any way this so-called palliative organization of today, as sadly in no way, shape or form does it. They'd be better off changing their so-called Palliative Care description to Complete Incompetent Careless Chaos instead, as they're very obviously way understaffed yet more importantly, they disgracefully have inexperienced clowns as so-called medical clinicians and use a DME (Durable Medical Equipment) company, which if JCAHO (The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations)(Medical Police) was made aware of the absolutely disgraceful equipment they shamefully are putting in the very much needy homes, they would immediately close them down ASAP. I am just so truly sorry that I stupidly went with Cornerstone Hospice for my beautiful terrific mother, as what should have been a pain-free, dignity focused and peaceful exit out has sadly & disgracefully been anything but, and their time at my mother's residence has been nothing short of an absolute out of control total train wreck, with it all starting from the very onset of a disgraceful visit from their clearly $een one track minded mi$$ion regi$tration $ocial worker. Now as my mother nears her end I have since reported this disgraceful medical carnage to the so-called superiors, who in fact protect one another and all stick together, and which I certainly wouldn't expect anything positive from as well, and I have discontinued as many of their useless offered services as I possibly could also, as my family can, does and will continue to do a whole lot better job for my mother until she's no longer. For insight and information, I have been in every capacity of the DME operations from physically setting up everything (Medical equipment) to bringing new companies through JCAHO Accreditations along with having had ample time in the clinical medical field also, and after seeing what I have seen and am now sadly seeing, the only way this organization is leading the other same organizations in dying patients and so-called care is, through pure BS and the ever ongoing practice of the padded hand$ from their marketing per$onnel in exchange for their referral$, if you hopefully follow me. My father was terminally ill at The Villages Hospital and needed to be transferred to hospice care. Unfortunately, the staff at The Villages hospital were non responsive, rude and apathetic. But Melody from Cornerstone Hospice guided me through the process. Melody was patient, sensitive and gave me all the information I needed about my father's sudden illness before I made the decision to approve the transfer to their care. She made herself available at all times, listened to all my concerns and answered all my questions. Melody made recommendations that truly showed her level of care and empathy, which seems to be overrated these days. Finding out that someone you love is terminally ill is hard to swallow, is a time of pain and confusion, desperation and uncertainty. The way Melody handled my situation made it easier for me to know what steps to take and when. Even after my father passed away, I got numerous calls from the staff at Cornerstone to check up on me, see how I was doing, and offered emotional support if needed. I can't thank them enough for the way they cared for my father and the exceptional service they provided me with. I HIGHLY recommend Cornerstone Hospice! read more

I don't have good remarks about Cornerstone that others might have. My mother and absolute best friend, Carol Diane Collins, died on August 16th, 2019. Now over a year and a half later, I feel I finally need to write a review. In her dying weeks, I was summoned to the hospital; the medical staff said that it was time for a Hospice consultation, and they recommended Cornerstone. I was met with Suzanne Pasco, who didn't seem to want to be there, and seemed like this was almost of a annoyance to her to have to meet with me about putting Mom into a Hospice House for the remainder of her life, which turned out to just be a couple of weeks. She said that she didn't think my dying mother was ready for a Hospice House, despite the doctors saying she was. She then stated that patients are only put into Hospice just 48 hours before they die, which I later learned to be a complete lie. Pasco put on a phony smile and left. I then had to scramble frantically to try to put my mother in a nursing home, as I am an only child with no family and no support of any kind, who works full-time and would not be able to give my precious mother the help she needed in her final days. Using her Social Security money that she just started getting, I was able to put Mom into Cypress Care in Wildwood. Within a few days, they called, saying I needed a Hospice consult. I was met with another representative from Cornerstone, saying that it was now too late to put Mom in a Hospice House and that she had no idea why this wasn't done in the first place; she said Mom should have been placed there days before. So my wonderful, sweet momma had to endure the final week of her life in a busy nursing home, surrounded by three other patients in a small room, one of them blaring Maury Povich and Jerry Springer filth all day, every day. No privacy, no peace and quiet, no dignity, that I and my soulmate deserved. Nobody from Cornerstone offered counseling, no help, I was on my own the entire time. I have no idea why I was overlooked. But those final weeks left me pained and scarred emotionally, and even 18 months later, things are still hurtful. read more

I have lost all faith in Cornerstone Hospice in Clermont, Fl. Despite numerous call from friends & family they have once again threatened the patient with throwing her out of their care to telling the 21 yr old daughter she could have charges pressed on her if she did not step up and care for her mother. Really caring bunch of people huh?? They have been told what is going on in that house and chosen to do absolutely nothing. Shame on them. My mother has severe dementia and has been receiving Cornerstone Hospice care at home. Everyone from Cornerstone has been fantastic. Her primary nurse, Sue has been wonderful.....very caring and compassionate and is a great problem solver. Dementia causes so many behavioral changes that it can be extremely difficult for caregivers to cope with these vicissitudes. Sue and Dr. Sutkowi have been completely understanding and have bent over backwards to help lessen this burden. We have also taken advantage of respite care at the Lane Purcell Hospice House and couldn't have been more pleased. If you are looking for hospice care for a loved one, look no further. I cannot imagine any group of people who could be any more loving and kind than the folks at Cornerstone. read more

Cornerstone Hospice Palliative Care has unconditionally loved my family members time and again. I have had multiple family members spend their final days with Cornerstone -both at home or at the Hospice house itself and we couldn't have asked for better care. Most recently, my cousin who is in her mid thirties and unfortunately at the end of life, was able to spend a weekend there to give her caregivers a break and she was treated like a queen. The staff loved her, came in on days off to spend time with her, and made her sad to leave. I cannot recommend Cornerstone Hospice & Palliative Care enough when your family is facing tough roads ahead. read more
