I had a close friend who was dying, and the pastor who came to visit about the funeral arrangements was very insensitive and insulting to my dying friend, and the senior pastor never even contacted his widow after his passing. They try to control people and behave in a cult-like way to achieve their goal. I am absolutely appalled at the lack of true Christian ethics and morals that I have witnessed at Coram Deo, and I will never set foot in that "church" again.

He preaches sermons that you NEED to hear, not just what you want to hear. I appreciate a good old fashioned (but loving) chastisement. My favorite sermons by far were the ones on marriage. Lots of biblical references to back up guidance that the world would probably take issue with. I also like how he occasionally puts in video clips to change up the tempo. Worship is very contemporary. Worship leader writes some of the songs, which is cool, but some of my popular favorites are in the rotation too. All of the musicians are gifted, and it's almost like you never get the same band twice. Baptisms are always exciting, and I love that there are baptism services often. Kind of tells you how effective the ministries are, no? Kids programs are great as well. My kids love going to church just as much as I do. There's age appropriate lessons for them while I go to grown up church.

That alone speaks volumes! It is a casual church where the dynamic minister Pastor Doug talks to YOU and not preaches AT you. I have never been a big church goer before. That has changed once I started attending. You are treated as a friend and family here. It is very casual and the focus is on God and Jesus, not about how fancy our building is and look at our church organ. I call it grass roots and I hope I am not offending them when I refer to it that way. No need to dress up here. Put on your jeans, come in, grab a cup of coffee or water and listen to the band and listen to a pastor who relates everyday living to the word of God. This church is not just for the young or old. There is a cross section of ALL age groups. It is well worth a visit! NOTE...The new address is 1700 E. Blackhawk Trail Rd

We are a small church. Visitors are noticed, and we welcome them, and try to become acquainted with them. How could we have missed this person? We don't know what he and the associate pastor talked about, but you don't have to ''look for fruit" to determine what a person's beliefs are, you just have to talk with them. If this person's beliefs were unscriptural, the pastor would have pointed this out to him, and that may be why this man thinks he was being ''judged''. Christians are supposed to be "of one mind", and those who know the Bible and the Lord's doctrine can discern the difference. This site has questionable practices, according to complaints we've read. Yelp is supposed to be for reviews of businesses. Crossroads Independent Baptist Church is NOT a business, it is a Church, and a very warm, welcoming one where people come to worship their Creator and serve the risen Lord who saved them from their sins because we love Him. If you're looking for a Church that honors God's Word and doesn't water it down, but gives the whole counsel of God, I highly recommend Crossroads Independent Baptist Church.

Funny how one can judge a person they have never had a conversation with. How could he look for the fruit of the spirit, when he has never talked to me. Well, I went home crushed. Dejected. Thinking maybe I'm not saved. He spent an hour telling me I wasnt. Sweet Jesus swooped down and confirmed, that I was his kid. Shame on this church for trying to destroy an honest relationship with the Lord!
