Not a biblical church. If you don't have money, they don't have time for you. The staff and…read morecongregation all gossip. There is a lack of true Christian compassion. I had a close friend who was dying, and the pastor who came to visit about the funeral arrangements was very insensitive and insulting to my dying friend, and the senior pastor never even contacted his widow after his passing. They try to control people and behave in a cult-like way to achieve their goal. I am absolutely appalled at the lack of true Christian ethics and morals that I have witnessed at Coram Deo, and I will never set foot in that "church" again.

Not to compare churches, because I didn't try any in the Quad Cities that I didn't like…read more BUT... The pastor got me hooked from my first visit with a great message that was part of a series. He preaches sermons that you NEED to hear, not just what you want to hear. I appreciate a good old fashioned (but loving) chastisement. My favorite sermons by far were the ones on marriage. Lots of biblical references to back up guidance that the world would probably take issue with. I also like how he occasionally puts in video clips to change up the tempo. Worship is very contemporary. Worship leader writes some of the songs, which is cool, but some of my popular favorites are in the rotation too. All of the musicians are gifted, and it's almost like you never get the same band twice. Baptisms are always exciting, and I love that there are baptism services often. Kind of tells you how effective the ministries are, no? Kids programs are great as well. My kids love going to church just as much as I do. There's age appropriate lessons for them while I go to grown up church.

I was attending this church for three months, when out of nowhere the associate pastor invited me…read moreto breakfast. I've been saved, and born again for twenty plus years, and he said I wasn't. Funny how one can judge a person they have never had a conversation with. How could he look for the fruit of the spirit, when he has never talked to me. Well, I went home crushed. Dejected. Thinking maybe I'm not saved. He spent an hour telling me I wasnt. Sweet Jesus swooped down and confirmed, that I was his kid. Shame on this church for trying to destroy an honest relationship with the Lord!

I faithfully attended this church in high school with my family, I was a good kid for the most part…read moreand even went to school here. I knew some good family's there such as the Gilbert's, Gerards, and Richmonds. When I graduated, I went straight into boot camp. However I suffered a heart attack in boot camp and was discharged back home. That's when it went all downhill. I was no longer allowed in teen meetings (even though the pastors own son went to then when he was 19), there was also only a handful of people who would talk to me after I got back like I was a big disappointment. I joined a different church and would occasionally visit crossroads but I always felt like I wasn't allowed, even most of my good friends there weren't able talk to me for some reason. Keep in mind, I helped usher there, I also helped with their vacation bible school. Eventually I hit a rough patch and commuted a theft against a felon named Jeremy Dawson who went there and then another theft from someone outside of the church. When I stole from Jeremy, I called his family after the crime when I turned myself in and apologized. They said they had no forgiveness for me (pretty Christian of him right?) I wrote them a letter 2 years later after I was in a work release/rehab facility for my second crime where I had realized I needed help and turned myself in. I completed my sentence and got off early with good behavior. Yet they told people I never sent them a letter. Now here's a church I faithfully attended, busted my back helping them, even helped a couple of the members move furniture. I have a good friend who I call a brother and his wife who go there and we hang out all the time. Yet the Pastor has told his own son I'd be escorted out right away if I ever decided to go to a service there again and I've had a few people tell me that several of the family's there say if I went, they would follow me with their guns to make sure I stay in line. That's straight up abuse and the pastor does nothing to stop it. From the looks of it, he encourages that behavior towards me. A man who made a mistake but also a man who helped out that church, went to school there, who asked for forgiveness, who even helped teach some of their classes there. I'm sorry but I can't recommend anyone who's ever made a misrake in their life to go there because at this point, they might as well shoot you on sight.
