We went to a small church in Groveland and it didn't have that feeling we were looking for. We went to a big one in Clermont, it was too big, it felt more like a concert type of venue, lights, camera, action! We both felt the same way, we needed a church like the one back home, with a good message and a home feel with the presence of God. We were recommended to visit these churches as well as South Lake Church. When we went to South Lake Church and sat down we were thinking, "okay, this feels right", when we heard Pastor Brian preach we knew we had found our church, he is funny enough, down to earth, a very relatable Pastor that teaches the word with knowledge of the word of God. We found our home church and couldn't be happier, thank God.

What a great church…read more They are reformed in their faith, very involved in the community (missional), heavily involved in missions (in support and sending out). You feel welcomed when you arrive. The Blue Shirts are members of the church who are are specialists at making people feel welcomed. They have Chapter 1 (monthly) for people who are more serious about becoming part of the church. They have many worship services on Sunday. They have 3 campuses. There is also a Thursday night service. It is currently located in Oakland adjacent to a nature preserve. They have outgrown their space and are moving to a much large location (around July 2017). This will lead to less frequent services (as they will have much more capacity). Their worship services for kids are great and my children love going. Older children serve and make the children feel at home. They also have services available for special needs children. The earlier services are usually packed and regulars are encouraged to come later (like the 5pm service) to make room for newcomers. The praise music is more contemporary and higher in volume but use hymns regularly. There is not a bible class for adults but their emphasis is on missional groups and growth together in these community groups. I am very motivated to get involved and serve since attending this church. I would definitely come to worship if you are looking for a solid church in the Winter Garden area. I drive weekly from Dr. Phillips.

All preaching, and never an example as far as an act of kindness goes. My family and I were super loyal to this church, always gave with every service... There came a period in time where my mom had a change of faith. Instead of being respectful, the way they've preached, I was ridiculed and scrutinized every chance they got. That was when I knew I had to stop going! It was all fun while it lasted. The youth retreats, singing for the Lord, the Lock-in sleepovers we'd have were amazing until I started realizing the church is within ME and not this place.

I've been to a lot of churches, and I found that it's not uncommon to be continually welcomed as a first timer even on your fifth visit. But that's not this place. It's a smaller congregation, probably 70-90 adults on a Sunday. Worship service starts with one worship song, then welcome, back into worship for like three songs, and then they do their teaching message, ending with announcements. The message does go longer than a typical church service message, but it also includes a gospel presentation and invitation to prayer at the end every week.
