If you live 1 minute, 1 hour, or 1 state away, you need to eat here. This is by far the best breakfast I have ever had. Not only is their breakfast the best, their lunch and dinner are amazing too. Everything was spot on except they deep fry their sausage links and when I mentioned it to the waitress she became defensive saying everybody liked them, well if they do they've never had good sausage. I'm a 25 year meat cutter so I have some experience. read more

This is a great restaurant with good service most of the time. The food is tasty and portions are adequate. The restaurant does get busy and sometimes service and food will not be to their normal standard. Why 5 star? The vast majority of time they are excellent. I changed my rating as the quality has declined over the last year or so and prices have increased. Portions are smaller as well. Bacon and hashbrown are often overdone. read more

Been here several times and always receive great service. The food is generally pretty good and any criticism I would have would be more about personal preference; I love omelets and wish they would cook the veggies in them. My husband and I stopped by today after choosing them from the reviews on Yelp. Such a gem! Friendly ladies working. Small town atmosphere, everyone who came in seemed to be smiling. Lovely, welcoming decor, and delicious food! We had the Club sandwich, which was huge, and stuffed full of turkey, ham, bacon, and 2 kinds of cheese on homemade toasted bread! So yummy! We decided to drive down to Ranier one night to have dinner and watch the river go by, the Mexican restaurant was jammed and we were hungry so we tried this place which was across the street. No view of the river but we had a great meal. You never know what to expect in a small town family restaurant but we were quite happy. The place is cute and clean and the staff are friendly and competent. They have a large menu with several interesting choices. My wife had the turkey dinner which she loved and I had teriyaki chicken breast which I enjoyed. We have since made the trip several times for breakfast, lunch and dinner and so far have not had a bad experience yet. It is very reasonably priced and they serve good food on a consistent basis. We always look forward to our trips thought Ranier now. UPDATE Went again last night and for the first time it was not too good. It was very busy so that might have contributed, also we ordered hamburgers which we have never had here before. The bun was not a regular hamburger bun more like a roll or brioche and it was dry and hard but the worst part was the meat it was way overcooked and more like a meat frisbee. This won't keep us away but we probably won't order burgers again. read more

A regular stop on Sunday's during the grandkid swap. From root beer floats to gin and tonic, a drink can be found for even the pickiest. Today I had the powerball burger, yes it comes with a lottery ticket. The burger has bacon, cheese, homemade Dijon mustard and thinly sliced Granny Smith apples on a pub bun-a tasty combination that will drip down your hands and face. It is a winner, regardless of the status of my ticket...grandkids split the regular deep fried shrimp, since the kid menu is "boring" their words, not mine. At 1:00 our group of 6 snagged the last table and a group of 8 was turned away.. We were told to make reservations to insure we get a table. Great service for a full establishment. We were checked on a couple times. Yes, the food is that good. diner food, most from scratch and reasonable prices. I can understand why today it seemed like the whole town of Rainier was there for lunch. read more

4 stars instead of 5, because it isn't a 5 star restaurant. It is a very good café/coffee shop. The pancakes are large and fluffy, the burgers are good, their Dave Dave omelet is excellent, their chef salad is probably the best I've had at a café and their chili omelet is definitely the best I've had. Their milk shakes look delicious, served in the metal cups and their coffee is pretty good. So far only the calamari would get one star. The servers a polite, fun and attentive to me. I've seen some ignoring when it gets busy. I live walking distance from another café, but drive 19 miles one way to go here. read more

Had lunch on our way from Seattle to Seaside. Terrific home cooking. I had open faced turkey and mashed potatoes with gravy. My husband has the patty melt. Food was hot and delicious. Service was excellent (our server was Phoenix). So good we are going back on our way home. read more

The breakfast is always wonderful. Love the survive. Your coffee cup never goes empty and you never leave hungry.

The atmosphere is very nice, clean and bright. The handmade potato chips were AMAZING! I've never enjoyed chips more. We had a Bacon Bleu Burger and Patty Melt. Both were great. Their pies look delicious; but we were to full to indulge in them.... maybe next time :) read more

No air conditioning!! Only two high chairs and it's called CornerSTONE because they all look/act like it! Food is nothing special-taste is dry and not a lot of flavor. Everything was from there freezer- not one thing was fresh. YUCK! read more

Since Rainier doesn't exactly have a lot of places to dine at, this little cafe is awesome! Service was outstanding, waitstaff very cheerful and helpful, really feels like a warm atmosphere when you walk in the front door.. Decor is a bit dated, but the food is very good. Had the fish n chips.. very good! No long wait to be served and very generous portions in fact, I could not finish the fish n chips I ordered. I work at a great company and my boss wanted to do something nice for her employees - so she decided to order lunch for her administrative staff - there was probably no more than 6 orders. I picked the Cornerstone Chicken Salad. At first the restaurant sent a tiny side salad (1st mistake) so she went back to the restaurant and they tried to give her a fried crispy salad - at which point she reminded them that it is supposed to be grilled chicken (2nd mistake). When the salad was brought to me it was not at all what it was supposed to be - still. Here is what the menu says is in the salad: mixed greens, sliced egg, cheddar cheese, real bacon, onion, cucumber, broccoli, carrot, tomato, and grilled chicken breast. Here is the salad they gave me: just plain iceberg lettuce - kind of shredded cut up like you would put on a cheeseburger, egg, super hot diced chicken that even melted the cheese! No MIxed Greens, No bacon - real or otherwise, no onion, no cucumber, no broccoli, no carrots, and no tomato. Oh...and on top of it it barely covered the bottom of the container. You could get a better salad at the gas station in Rainier - and it costs about half what you would pay for this salad. Like I said this was maybe an order for 6 people - called in ahead of time - I can't imagine them catering a large group. Here's a pic. I feel horrible saying something bad about a meal that was given as a gift - but this was just so ridiculous - I would hate for someone else to get a salad like this when they are expecting the salad off the menu. read more

so my husband and i are from longview and we went to rainier days on sat. and were starving for good lunch.we always see many people there so we thought hey must have some good food. mind you we are both in the food industry. they weren't very busy, took at least 5 min to get our menus then another 25 min. for the waitress to take our order, and 35 min. to get our food. i ordered the captains platter i love seafood but this was horrible, the clams were so rubbery you couldn't even bite them in half the shrimp was well over cooked and the halibut was dry, my husband got a mushroom burger there was probably 15 mushrooms on there and he said it was gross. i say if you charge 13.50 for something please make it edible, i was very disappointed i had better things to do on my birthday. i did want to add something there was a party of 7 waiting to sit but all tables were dirty and the gentleman actually went and got a bus tub from the bussing station and bussed his own table. read more
