Stopped by during a morning check-out at Aloft (hotel near by). The only negative thing about my experience is that I wish I had more time to eat inside, as the interior looks very inviting for a casual breakfast experience. As far as the food, I thoroughly enjoyed the egg and cheddar wrap with chicken sausage. The delicately stuffed wrap had a basil tortilla on the outside and was a great compliment for the ingredients inside. My meal came with fruit, which wasn't exceptional, but it was fresh and all I could have hoped for (it's fruit). The bakery has many assortments of caffeinated drinks and 4 styled blends for a black coffee lover's decision. Each member of my family got something different and they all really enjoyed their choices. The staff was friendly and prompt in the construction of our online order. I believe this cafe deserves more than three and a half stars and a second chance from those that deemed it so. read more

I have been dining here for nearly 2 years and the food is delicious and consistent. I love this location! No other location compares. The food, the staff, the atmosphere and location in beautiful Los Colinas. The salads all of them are delicious, sandwiches and pasta. It is a bold statement to have your ovens "running from open to close," but, it sparked my curiosity. I am from out of town and was totally bummed to walk in nearly an hour before closing time to see all of the staff working hard to put everything away and close down. We decide to grab some sweet dishes anyway and the flavor was there... But dry as the Sahara in the summer. I was pretty let down... OK, I go to this place often, very often, since it's in the neighborhood where I live and work. What's really great -- is the physical plant. Nice building, nice interior. Great comfy booths, a very pleasant place to sit awhile and read or work on a notebook PC. So what's bad? THE FOOD. And the COFFEE. And since this place is a restaurant instead of a living room that's kind of a problem. And it really, really irritates me. The coffee is atrocious. This is one of those places where they set out the coffee in those self-serve tanks. They set it out, and they forget all about it because they don't care and the manager obviously doesn't care. Hours later the coffee is room temp, bitter, foul bilge. And that's how it is 90% of the time I'm there. So what I do is get a coffee mug, sample the coffee -- just in case -- throw it out in disgust, and fill the mug with tea. And this is really pissing me off because I would prefer to drink coffee. One time I told a young gent there the coffee was cold and stale and asked for a new batch, and the incompetent piece of ---- actually argued with me. So I don't bother asking anymore. I'm complaining publicly instead. Even at the BEST of times when the coffee's fresh, it still sucks, because they don't make good coffee. I now go there less and less, and rest assured if someone opened up a competing coffee shop next door and did it half-right, Corner Bakery would never see my face again. And food. Well I happen to eat low-carb these days, and that rules out nearly all the garbage on their menu. There are some people these days who avoid grains and eat low-carb, and Corner Bakery doesn't want their money. I'm not asking them to become a paleo barbecue joint, but since they already possess deli meats, cheeses, avocados, etc would it kill them to create something without bread and sugar involved? Could they at least have blue cheese dressing for salads instead of the corn syrup they currently pour on them? Why go there at all? Because there is no other coffee shop/diner-type place within 15 minutes of here, which is incredibly unfortunate, whereas this place is walking distance from my home and my office both. There is a Starbucks not far, but that's always noisy and overcrowded, not where I want to hang out. I keep coming back to the space itself -- I dearly wish these guys would go belly up and a competent operator who can appreciate decent coffee would take over the space. read more

I stayed at the Aloft which happens to share the same parking lot, which means I came here every morning! Their service is fantastic and they have a great selection of breakfast choices. Their Power Thin Paninis are great. They offer a high protein meal for less than 300 calories! Super thin whole wheat bread with egg whites, a slice of cheese and a piece of bacon. Yum! Pair that with a coffee and you are set to conquer the day! read more

I was beginning to think Texas wasn't in to yummy sandwiches. I got a pesto chicken sandwich, it was really good, a little vinegary but I loved the generous slices of chicken. I also got a hazelnut latte, seems they don't know what syrups they have and don't have or I'm just spoiled with my flavored latte. My sandwich came with some potato chips, not that much but it was more than enough after eating my small baguette of a sandwich. This place reminds me of a Panera Bread or Bay Area's Specialty's, except there's more than just sandwiches, pretty sure I saw a small section of pastas. Lots of seating available, I can see myself coming here to study with my laptop (hopefully they have free wifi). read more

This place is consistent in getting your lunch order out quickly but what they bring is substantially less appealing than the wrap sandwich I had recently on Virgin America. If they spent a few more minutes on quality control, they may get up to that wrap sandwich. read more

I came to get one item for takeout at lunchtime today. 30 minutes later I inquired about my food. Manager looked up but wouldn't talk to me although a sweet line worker tried to help. Eventually they found my order and instead of giving to me, they attempted to add someone else's order to my bag. How do you screw up ONE item? I had to tell them it wasn't mine. No apology. No anything from manager. And surprise, surprise, my order was cold. You're welcome to the customer with the sandwich order they tried to give me. I hope your lunch tasted better than mine. I have a gluten allergy. I told both cashiers and asked for a gluten free menu. They said they don't have one but advised me of the wrap (which I knew) asked if they had any soup options and they said no, but they have humus (insert eye roll) so me and my friend both ordered a gluten free wrap, when they brought our order out they were both on regular bread. Awful service and the salad was warm and limp. When they dropped off our food he just assumed which dish went to whoever was in front of him. He also threw down our medal utensils and made a loud bang. The cashier was in a hurry and didn't give a chance to even look at the menu. So my wife didn't even get what she really wanted. I only give 5 stars to places that blow me away but 4 stars doesn't mean it's not worth going to. I actually eat at this location 2 - 3 times a month. Food is pretty consistent, service is always good and the price is comparable to other establishments of similar fare. If you work in the Las Colinas area or have opportunity to be there at hungry time, in my opinion the Corner Bakery will certainly suffice. read more

I ordered harvest salad without chicken.. But they brought salad with chicken. Before ordering I insisted no chicken but the lady got irritated I kept telling they mess up every single time. Jacqueline assured that there is no chicken. But they brought the order with chicken, once I reported this mistake. Waitress promised to make a fresh one n came with no chicken ( I thot) I ate half and there was chicken inside . (Obviously they did not make it fresh) I immediately went and reported, the lady said hold on. And frank mosely came and somehow he was mad (I thought I should be mad) was so mad at me for reporting, he showed his hand and asked me to stop. And said I can't do anything about it in angry tone. I told the least he could do was to talk nicely. He went away and Jon (another lead manager) came but Jon apologized and talked nicely. Mentioned refund will be given. And gave store coupons. I said I wouldn't be comfortable going there anymore. Jon was nice listened at least. But the problem is 1) I clearly said there should not be chicken as I am vegetarian. I insisted on this as I have had problems before, and still I was served with chicken 2) When they brought back the order, they just removed chicken pieces instead of making fresh. They should have made brand new but not. 3) Frank mosely was so rude, even after his mistake, he showed hand and said I cannot do anything about this. This is bad cutomer handling.. very bad Only Jon was nice but the damage was done already. Why cannot you be proactive instead of reactive. Do I have to waste my time and report the problem? Why cannot enjoy just basic salad for lunch? Why cannot you follow the basic instructions? I was staying at a hotel close by and thought I would walk over and try the corner bakery cafe. It looks presentable! The staff weren't overly friendly, but I can get over that. I order and wait for my potato soup in a bread bowl. I get my order and walk back to my hotel, get all settled in and sit down to eat. Not only was the bread bowl cold, my soup was thick and felt like it was freshly squirted out of refrigerated bag. I get everything ready and walk back over...hoping they would gladly fix this for me. They fixed it, but I felt like an inconvenience. There was no "I apologize, let me fix that for you" or anything. So I get back to the hotel and the soup was warmer but the bread bowl was still cold...so I decide to just use the hotel microwave and hop on Yelp. Very poor customer service. As a person who works for a very customer oriented and reputable company, to say I am not impressed is an understatement. read more
