(I purchased a session for my family and another for a soon-to-be mom as a gift). After repeated attempts to reach her, Rose stopped responding. What's interesting is, when you book a shoot with her, she immediately sends you an invoice for full payment -- like within minutes! Sadly, she does not have that same sense of urgency with regard to customer service and follow through. Simply put, she takes nice photos but for the price, there are much better, more professional photographers out there. Use at your own risk.

FRAUDULENT**…read more When our planned photographer canceled at the last minute, my husband and I found Rose Alene Photography on Craigslist, and hired her to shoot our son's 5th birthday party. Everything seemed perfect - Rose was available at the last minute and able (for an additional $50.00) to make the trip from Naperville to Glenview (where the party was). She arrived, seemed friendly enough, and took pictures. After the party she informed me that she would have the photos unloaded within two days (wow - super fast, I thought) and a disc with the images would follow shortly via the mail. After two weeks, I had yet to hear anything from Rose or receive the pictures. I called her and send her an email - just checking in (my husband and I didn't mind waiting for the pictures, but had been hoping to use an image as our thank you notes). I did not hear back. I called and emailed her again, and this time I received a short email back saying she had not gotten my messages, but the disc was in the mail. The disc never arrived. My husband and I have contacted Rose numerous times (via email and phone), filed a complaint with The Better Business Bureau, and contacted a lawyer (as a last resort). We have no pictures of our son's fifth birthday and are out $250.00 - and yet Rose Alene continues to post Craigslist ads and update her website.

Erika got down on the ground at one point in order to get the best angle with the best light just to make sure our photo was perfect. Now that we have the all that out of the way, here's our review: They are awesome! They each have their strengths and it works in great harmony. For us, we enjoyed the idea of having some artistic photographs taken of our day as well as the traditional photos; family groups, friend groups, couples, tables, wedding isle, ceremony, etc. We did not have them do a booth or canvas setting. We asked them to naturally photo as the event happened and asked that they direct a few special scenes, trusting in their years of experience. We got all that and more. Jose is great with the business and tactical aspect of the details and he has a creative side to himself that you just can't resist letting him explore. He has a calm, reassuring nature that just works well for this, considering how un-nerving wedding planning can be. Sonia has a wonderful, natural way of getting you exited for the big day over and over each time you meet her. On the day itself, she has you smiling and excited. It comes out in the photos and that is exactly what you want when you finally review all the photos from the whole day. Their technical savvy with the equipment is seamless, and when there's a special shot or scene they want to prepare for, be a little patient and they will create an amazing result!! We promise. We got a few that awed several of our friends and family. There isn't any aspect or experience with Sonia and Jose that we would change. After that, we also used Fond Memories for various decorations for our wedding, including the seating chart, table number artwork, menus and programs. I procrastinated and was nearing the end of the recommended time frame for newborn pics. Brit got back to me quickly and was able to squeeze me in at 17 days old. She made the long drive on a very snowy day to my home. She was completely professional, friendly, and she was sooo patient with my little one who kept waking up constantly! The session took about 4 hours and I thoroughly enjoyed working with her. My CD was delivered within the time frame that she stated, just under 3 weeks and I'm more than pleased. Will definitely be hiring her again.
