Corewell health has ZERO sense of urgency. The Dr's give a scary diagnosis, then want tests ordered then you have to wait weeks for an appointment for the tests to be scheduled, it's absolutely ridiculous. Don't diagnose cancer and then have a wait for testing to affirm the diagnosis. The office puts in the orders for testing then it can take more than 24 hours to process the order before an appointment can be made. Will not stay in this system, communication is poor at best. read more

The thing that still strikes me months now after the birth of our child, is how Beaumont Troy, and just about every healthcare institution seems to fundamentally not understand why it exists. From the layout of the campus, to the design of the interior, to the service being provided by staff, none of it seems to be focused on treating patients and their families with comfort, ease, or respect. Do not get me wrong - we had experiences with several nurses and one physician that were outstanding. People who took the time to speak in detail with us, provide transparency, answer questions, and display genuine empathy to us and our newborn. My wife is in health care and so are her siblings. I know there are really quality practitioners out there that care and we should be grateful for the work they do. I also do not dismiss healthcare workers often have to see the worst in humanity and our not treated with the respect they deserve. However, those facts do not give a blanket impunity to not provide a quality service to everyone. Our baby required light therapy after birth and the first information given to us about this between the nurse and pediatrician provided conflicting direction. When my wife displayed some disappointment in four hours being added to the original length of time we were given, our nurse at the time bluntly told my wife that "four hours isn't that long." In one of my many comings and goings from the Mother Baby Unit through the locked door I made a bit of an exaggerated face opening the door which occasionally stuck a little on opening. As I passed through the staff member informed me the door was locked and she had to unlock it. I replied I was aware (considering I paused outside the door, locked eyes with her, and waiting for to hear the door unlock before I touched it I thought maybe she knew that as well) and that the particular door I used sometimes stuck a little bit. She replied "no it doesn't" and continued to explain to me how the door works. These are just two examples where I could not believe the interactions. No one is at a hospital for a fun reason. Why are we dismissing a newborn mother's distress? Arguing with a dad whose newborn is stuck in light therapy as he leaves to pick up their other child from daycare? It really shouldn't matter our situations - always show empathy to patients and you never, ever argue with a client. The campus itself has pretty obvious flaws I cannot imagine they are not aware of. The parking lot outside the birthing center has maybe 30 spots? Maybe 3 or 4 are designated 'Expectant Mother' parking. It is a mess. Cars parked illegally everywhere. I once had to park at the parking deck further away (an adventure of its own worth 5000 words) amping my frustration. Trying to get anywhere on the campus as a guest once you are parked? Also a nightmare. Stairwells that go nowhere or to different buildings. Elevators that don't work. The cafeteria featured little signage and a confusing layout. If you ordered chicken tenders they have to weigh them? All of this was a bizarre experience. I'm sure if you work at this campus day after it's all a no brainer and this seems like nothing. You know who doesn't work there though? Your patients and their guests. As it usually ends up being with me this all boils down to a customer service opportunity. Communication, transparency, empathy. Healthcare is stressful for everyone from the staff to the clients. Both sides of this equation should be intentionally keeping this on their minds. There are signs throughout the hospital reminding patients and guests to be respectful to healthcare staff - are their signs in the staff lounges reminding them to do the same for their patients? read more

I'm going to post this whenever I can...I had surgery for a broken wrist on July 28 at Troy...not my surgeons 1st choice but they could get me in a lot sooner. Based on my insurance, they weren't top tier meaning I was going to have to pay a little more. Fast forward to a week ago, I finally got the statement, $2,484. Pretty large amount as I live alone, so I opted to ask for some financial assistance. Asked me about my income, mortgage, bills etc. A week went by and they reached out...after speaking with them, they stated I make too much. Did not factor in my mortgage, bills or anything but my re-occurring medical bills which 3 MRI's a year at around $1,000 a piece, blood draws for a new medication that treats brain tumors wasn't enough. Terrible...this hospital system is awful, it's a shame they are still existing...I will be giving them a bad review whenever I can. read more

My recent visit to the ER at Troy Beaumont -Corewell with my sick child was deeply disappointing. The care provided was inadequate--after administering an enema, no follow-up X-ray was performed to confirm if it was successful. This oversight meant my son went over seven additional days without a bowel movement, leading to unnecessary trauma and further treatments elsewhere. The experience was made even worse by the hospital's lack of empathy and logistical failures. The ER parking lot was closed, forcing us to park several hundred yards away and walk with my sick child. When we finally made it inside, security stopped us because I was carrying a small flashlight and pocket knife. After walking back outside to hide them in a planter (so my son wouldn't have to walk all the way back to the car), the security guard still refused to let us in, insisting they had to be returned to the car. This lack of compassion and understanding from staff--both medical and security--made an already stressful situation unbearable. Hospitals are supposed to prioritize care and empathy, especially when dealing with sick children, but this was far from the case here. I cannot recommend Troy Beaumont -Corewell based on the subpar care, poor organization, and complete lack of sensitivity we experienced. COREWELL HEALTH DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR CARE. We had an appt with a PA named Dr. Tam in cardiology area. Dr. Tam was fine, he was not the issue. The office staff was rude and dismissive. When checking out, the receptionist told my 83 yo mother that the only way she would be able to know about an appt in 6 months was logging into her mychart. I explained that she was unable to do this and asked for the date and time to be written down. She was visibly irritated with my request. Staff needs to keep client ages in mind when speaking to them and be more respectful. VERY disappointed. I am an ER nurse in a different hospital system and this behavior would never be acceptable with our patients. read more

I have been here twice in the last month with different family members. Each time the experience was terrible and it was the nurses who made it that way. They seem to not know how to do their jobs and when they do things it is done with callousness and major attitude. They lack any amount of empathy. And if you are bringing kids here, just be ready to be transported to Royal Oak for pretty much everything. You may as well drive to Royal Oak because you will end up there anyway and you will have to pay for the ambulance as well (yeah we got a huge bill from EMS!!). My father was admitted to Troy Beaumont via the ER after a deeply suspicious brain tumor was found on an MRI. He ended up needing a brain biopsy and his stay was about a week long. In a week of deep tragedy for our family, one bright spot were the RNs, MAs, and broader Beaumont staff that supported us through it all. I wanted to take a moment to write this review in hopes that the team there supporting my father understands how crucial they were to my father's mental well-being and overall recovery. My father had a brain lesion in his frontal lobe, which caused him to be extra silly and emotional as he needed care. The team on the main hospital 4th floor and ICU were so incredibly kind, patient, helpful, and most importantly... human. Words can not express how grateful I am for their patience with him and the support they provided to me and my mom as we advocated for him. You know when you meet someone that doesn't just do their job, but goes the extra mile simply because it's who they are? We encountered that multiple times-- There was a nurse in the ICU, Lauren S., who I am convinced was an angel helping us navigate the worst week of our lives. Bella, Rachel, Marisa, Sebastian, Hass, Jackie, Mattie-- I remember these names because my dad talked about the impact they made on his stay. They not only cared for his health, they kept his spirits up. Just a genuine thank you to all of you. I would recommend Troy Beaumont to anyone looking for local care with a personalized approach. I've been to this hospital before for unrelated issues to my recent visit. The doctors this time made me feel unseen, uncared for, and dismissed MAJOR symptoms with little explanation. The reason I'm leaving this review is because of the obvious disbelief the staff had in my symptoms despite them appearing on tests. I only wish I'd remembered to make them put in my chart that they refused treatment. Now another chest related pain will go without any record of it, and I cannot defend myself. Unacceptable, and a poor way to treat a young person in todays climate, whom are led to believe doctors have my best interest in mind. I don't recommend this place unless they're the only people who take your insurance or you're actually about to die. The wait wasn't bad, it was fast. Too fast. But I didn't come for quick willy-nilly diagnosis, I came for an accurate diagnosis. I got nothing but stink eye from skeptical doctors, likely based on some bias. You know your body better than anyone else, and when something is wrong. If you are discharged and hold suspicion, remember to make them record that you did not receive treatment. Excellent, excellent care. My husband recently was transferred from Corewell Lenox ED to Troy Hospital ICU with complete heart block and a heart rate in the 30's. From the moment we entered the ED at Troy until our discharge 5 days later with a new pacemaker the care was superb. I have been a nurse for over 40 years and have had a lifetime of experience with healthcare providers and I was amazed by the staff. He was on the 6th floor -Cardiac ICU and everyone was awesome. Not one person left his room without asking "is there anything else we can get for you". They said this with true sincerity. I was seen in ER for Pneumonia at now Corewell Health Troy. The line was atrocious but when I finally was seen that when the pleasure and treasure began. The staff was timely and responsive. Tender with IV and followed up even after I had to go on a scavenger hunt to find an open Rest room. Highly recommended for empathetic and tender health care to whatever you're facing. read more

The care I received for my injury was second to none. The Emergency doctors successfully worked hard to stop the bleeding and stitch my wound. They were outstanding. I first called my Secondary Insurance Provider and was told that they had no information about the encounter. My issue that was totally substandard was with Corewell Health's Billing System! I was notified today that I have a bill. Why? I'll tell you. All of my address and health insurance information was provided on the date of service. The person who helped me today was unable to find that information and had to spend considerable time getting in touch with Corewell's Billing Department. I was assured that the information I provided a second time would be uploaded before end of business today. I certainly hope so. Who can afford an unjustified credit rating issue. read more

I have been a patient at Corewell hospital a couple times while it was Beaumont. Corewell is horrible. I was there for outpatient surgery and this my experience there was a nightmare from beginning to end. The nurses lack empathy and do not listen. They did not answer questions. They rushed me through tasks while another person had my ID and insurance card. I never got my ID or insurance card returned. And once in a bed I watched my tech and nurse stand against the counter and sip coffee. The anesthesia team left me exposed while they replaced the leads that were placed on me for another set and left me exposed while the curtain was open. I asked them to be more discreet, but my request and my dignity was denied. I was treated like a body not person . Nurses need to be empathetic and treat their patients the way they would like their loved ones treated in the same situation. I like my doctors, but I don't want to deal with Corewell hospital again. read more

Not the same since the change. No communication. Patient was admitted for "observation". Be advised that this does not mean you get a room. You get an ER bed (among very sick people) with a curtain, no private bath. You will be shunted from room to room, with a different staff each time and you'll have to give your history each time. 3 "rooms" in three days. The staff is great, but the doctors are absent. 3 different doctors of the same specialty in 3 days. Only one issue was addressed and we ended up back the next day. We went home and, after 5 days, are still recovering. No surgical procedures were performed. Just the unaddressed issue (the hospital was made aware multiple times), which his primary is taking care of. Advocate for your loved one because there is a lot of "out of my control" response to concerns. When I asked for a proper chair, I was told I could go home and he would be okay because they were taking care of him. Nursing staff was attentive and friendly. 5 stars for the nursing staff. read more

I was admitted in February via the ER and it was found that I had 3 cancerous brain lesions. I was in the hospital for one week where I had wonderful care in the ICU and 4th floor. My nurses, aides and the doctors I was assigned to were phenomenal. I could not have asked for more personal one on one care. They took excellent care of me and I barely had to ask for anything. They were right there bringing me heated blankets, water and whatever else I needed. Thank you all for the wonderful care and concern you showed me during my stay, and also for being supportive to my family members who I know were beside themselves with worry. December 30, 2025 we went to the Troy Corwell Health imaging center to get a scan for my son. I did read the reviews in advance of choosing to go to this location. I was hoping our experience would be better. The person checking us in was snarky, if she would have had a name tag on I could add it here but she wasn't wearing one. I was frustrated because I have mobility problems and both electric scooters which were parked near the entrance were plugged in at the batteries were completely dead at them. I did not want to get in a wheelchair and have my son who was the patient have to push his mother. The woman at the check-in did go and try both scooters. Then said the batteries must be dead, ok captain obvious, I just told you than. She didn't apologize or provide any customer service unfortunately. We waited for someone to come out from the back to the imaging room. The attendant was kind & empathetic He offered to push me in a wheelchair if I NEEDED one. My son has social anxiety & that is why I am over protective. We got the imaging completed but they were not able to make a CD for the ENT which was requested on the order. They provided us with a document on how we go about getting the CD. We would have to come back the next day or after a day or two and go to the medical records department in order to get the CD. This was our second visit in the last month to this location. The previous visit was to their emergency room. During the visit to the emergency room, we interacted with eight different people only two people in my opinion were kind, empathetic and compassionate. The numbers are no lie nor are the reviews. I do not recommend this location. We already pay a fortune to have x-rays done, but I am absolutely positive I will be able to find somewhere else that is more professional. They really need to provide more training to people and the people working in hospital environments need to understand that you are often seeing people on the worst days of their lives and a little bit of kindness goes! read more

Visitation: Not allowed to visit a patient in the ER today. I'm an elderly senior man (78). Parking was distant and downhill from the entrance. Not good for any senior. I have been experiencing short term memory issues. I was focused on visiting someone that I had just found out was there. 10 miles or just under a half hour away. I had forgotten I had my everyday carry pocket knife (Small/Tiny Swiss army knife) and a small pepper spray attached to my key chain. Security claimed I would have to dispose of them or take them to my car. I didn't think I could make the walk up that hill again, so just left. Back to praying for her. Nothing else to do. Late afternoon a week ago, I had a CT scan at Beaumont Hospital in Troy. As the nurse was getting ready to put the iv for contrast dye, I alerted her that my veins were difficult to find so please get someone who is experienced. Her rude reply was "Only the best people work here." Even after the suggestion, she did not put a hot towel on my arm that normally helps in getting the vein, and said "I have to finish this job on time." She unsuccessfully poked my right arm at two places which also resulted in some bleeding. She then only called another nurse who put a warm towel on my left hand and was able to find my vein in two attempts that show minimal scarring now. The first nurse's failed attempts on my right hand had some swelling and about 2 inch diameter dark blue/reddish spots at both points of needle insertion that evening. After a week the swelling has subsided, but the dark blue spots are same size and turned black! Not a pleasant sight. What hurt me most was that the first nurse, instead of saying sorry or some comforting words, said "I was a problem child," that too to a senior citizen. Usha S. read more

She will aggressively incorrectly poke extra holes in your loved ones & not say sorry at all. I had a traumatic brain injury 3 bleeds on the brain from a car accident the hospital staff was amazing and took great care of me but 1 nurse in particular his name is Jacob deserves a special shout out I don't do hospitals last time I was in boumont was 30 yrs ago I have been blessed with good health. Imaging Staff needs additional training. As a patient advocate, I've experienced both fine needle biopsy technicians and x-ray technicians give false information and directly go against a specialists orders on different occasions over the last year. There's no discussion and a certain level of arrogance when giving reasons why not to follow protocol. When confronted afterwards by physician, they claimed confusion (after we heard them say "they were not doing all that"). This delayed cancer marker testing. We've encountered the same response with x-ray imaging. This is not the Beaumont of 20 years ago. read more

If I could give zero stars I absolutely would. I arrived at the emergency room barely able to walk because I recently fell while hiking and hurt my right leg, hand, and my lower back. While waiting to be seen, I was forced to sit in an incredibly overcrowded waiting room for over an hour and a half to be taken into a small corner of a hallway and put on a stretcher. I had a nurse put an IV into my arm, and I stayed on that stretcher for close to five hours in incredibly bad pain. I was taken to XRAY where something happened with the new room/table they were trying to use, and I laid there in a terrible position so they could try to get the imaging done for roughly ten minutes before i was informed that they needed to take me to a different room and machine. So I had to get up, get back on the stretcher, moved rooms and then back onto a second table in the same position. I was in tears and struggling to not move so they could get imaging done. They gave me some norco, a muscle relaxer and a steroid, that did nothing for my pain and began to make me feel incredibly awful. I hit my button three times to try and speak with someone about feeling dizzy, nauseous and like the room was spinning. What I presumed to be a nurses assistant came, checked my vitals, made a rude comment that my oxygen and pulse were both normal, and then no one ever showed up to see what was going on. No doctor or nurse ever came to discuss with me the imaging, the fact that I was not having a good reaction to the medications they gave me, and was told my prescriptions were being sent to my "local pharmacy". When being brought back to the stretcher in the corner in the first place, the only information asked was my name, my DOB, and my address. No one verified with me the pharmacy, my emergency contact - nothing. For some unknown reason, they sent these prescriptions to the Royal Oak Corewell Hospital pharmacy which has NEVER been my pharmacy and is far away from my home; I live less than five minutes from the Troy location. By this time, I had eaten nothing all day, had nothing to drink but the partial cup of water to take the pills they shoved at me, and was having an incredibly hard time trying to lay in an incredibly inclined position which was agony for my back, was not given a pillow, and was using my blanket as cushion so I could hold my head up with the railing while leaning on my side. Upon discharge, I was told my imaging was negative and to follow up with my PCP, and to go to my local pharmacy for the medications. She removed my IV and took off after I signed about abusing opioids and never returned. I had to attempt to go to the triage station to try and see who I could speak with about what was going on, and the fact that I still felt wrong from the medication, and the lady sitting at triage was incredibly rude and dismissive. I never asked her to solve my issue, but asked WHO I could speak with about it. She was more concerned that I didn't bring these issues up with whomever I spoke with at discharge, and when I attempted to explain that I was never told any actual information about my imaging, my medications, or how I was reacting to the medications, the lady got incredibly snotty and short with me and raised her voice while I was clearly in pain, clearly not ok, and crying. Sitting there and being rude while I am asking for help may not be her job, but as she works in a hospital and in patient care, she is more than bad at her job, and snapping at me "I am trying to help you" and not actually listening to the words I am saying is NOT helping. If you need emergency care, do not ever come to Corewell. They do not care. They do not help. They do not listen. Having someone page a nurse three times to say they are having a bad reaction to medication and no one shows up after an hour and a half, is incredibly messed up. After an hour and a half and paging three times, the only person who came by was the one who discharged me. In that interim, I could have died from an allergic reaction to medicine and not one single person checked on me or gave a crap. read more

I found this hospital to be awful. DO NOT go to this Emergency room. Do yourself a favor and drive to the next hospital. The ED is terribly disorganized, and the triage team chats among themselves and laugh through the triage for patients. We were directed to this ED per a physician and that was ignored when I told team that. I brought an elderly patient who could not even walk, was short of breathe and fatigued, and shivering just to begin with. It took 1.5 hours to get back into ED to a room for evaluation. As we were going back to a room in the ED I saw numerous patients lying on beds in hallways, and one even threw up on my shoes as we walked by. OMG where am I? not only does patient have incredibly good private insurance but Medicare as well. I will be filing a complaint no doubt. I heard numerous private conversations of other patients - totally NOT HIPPA compliant. it's was horrible. In the end, we were sent home with nothing but a diagnosis of fatigue. interesting the patients urine was dark brown, and they never took the sample, as well as blew out on IV and never came back. so how do I know the results were from this person??! Hmmm problem much? That was one of many mistakes. As we were leaving even the entrance transport and security team said "omg you are already discharged?" Even a lay person could see this patient was in trouble. Should we end up back in ED within certain time period, Medicare won't pay for anything- but hey think they care? NOPE not the healthcare one should expect or deserve. This place is awful and should be ashamed to think this was any type of care given. RUN as fast as you can!! read more

While I understand that medical situations can be complex, the level of care and treatment I received left much to be desired. Firstly, I believe I was misdiagnosed during my time at the hospital, which naturally led to a lack of appropriate treatment. This has caused me considerable distress, and I have been misdiagnosed not once but twice. Back the third time, only for the Charge Nurse McKenna, and her incompetent Nurse's Sam and Damond who abuse their powers and treat patients like prisoners. The Doctor only found the issue because I pleaded for an X-ray, after they decided to run all other tests that missed the diagnosis. Moreover, the treatment I received made me feel like a prisoner rather than a patient seeking assistance. The lack of communication and empathy from the hospital staff added to the overall negative experience. I was in the process of being discharged but my blood pressure was really high. Sam the nurse says she thinks the machine is broke. As I waited to get a re-check, Damond the RN who was not the actual RN assigned to me starts yelling at me as says it's time to go. He literally pulls the IV out of my arm, IT WAS PAINFUL!!!! All this and I was surrounded by 6 security's! I was kicked out of the hospital before my discharge. To my astonishment, I was prematurely discharged from the hospital before the completion of my treatment, which has raised serious concerns about the continuity and effectiveness of my care. I have attempted to address these issues with the hospital's patient relations department, but my concerns were not adequately addressed. As a result, I feel compelled to share my experience to encourage transparency and accountability. I urge others to carefully consider their options and thoroughly research their healthcare providers before choosing Troy Beaumont Hospital. It is my hope that my feedback contributes to improvements in patient care and overall hospital practices. This was the most traumatic event I have ever experienced as a patient. I will never trust this hospital again. My rights were violated as a patient, and the security guards need to be trained but also investigated. read more

It's difficult to even know where to begin. The patient has been here multiple times and every time he's been here there's one screw up after another. The staff is generally okay but the response time to the call button is abismally slow. The staff does not listen when you speak to them and disregard everything. The absolute worst part about this crappy hospital is the size of the rooms. We have been on the 5tn and 3rd floors and there's no way these should be shared rooms. I think my college dorm room was bigger. The attitude of some of the staff is horrible. Every experience here has been worse than the last. If you are able to go to different hospital, do it. For the sick person's sake and the relatives sake. The upkeep is not good either in my visit today, 2 elevators are broken and the patient light (above the bed) is making a strobe effect. No one noticed this? One last thing, I understand there are many different nationalities of people in this area - no problem but when at work, please speak English. read more

As ordered by my Dr. He said if my symptoms worsen go to the ER. I went today with excruciating pain in arms and hands due to cervical spine issues I am having. I choose this location because I have been to this ER and received excellent care . Today not so much. After thinking about it, I arrived checked in not long of a wait, great . Someone called me and another patient back to some small room. A PA came in and I explained what I have been dealing with and said well there's nothing we can really do. Like really? I brought a copy of my MRI and she said oh we would have to have a radiologist read that we cant .again.. like really?This is an Emergency room I was there for excruciating pain and was told by my DR to go to Emergency if it worsen. I was treated exactly the same way as though I went to urgent care.. no tests, no visit from dr. , no examination NOTHING! Except a shot and script for pain pills. Then quickly released but not before they collected my 600 $ co pay! I could have went to urgent care for the same treatment and payed 75? So pissed! Stay clear!! read more

When we first moved to Troy over 20 years ago, Troy Beaumont had such a great reputation. Now, this hospital is trash! My wife had surgery here and the recovery time was multiple days at the hospital. The ENTIRE staff was rude and incompetent except for her surgeon. It was truly unbelieveable. Do NOT choose this hospital for any sort of recovery or emergency. I wrote and called them directly about all the issues we had during my wife's stay. Nothing was returned. This hospital is so rediculous, they diabled the ability to leave reviews through google. If they did, they would be at less than 2.7 stars. Btw, 2.7 stars is horrendous! read more
