That's how it went for me. I chose this store because I thought they cared about people and did good due to their having a homeless outreach using space in their building. I came in around 2:45, 3pm one weekday afternoon in December 2025. I needed to get a work uniform for my new job. I wasn't in a hurry, and it was not close to closing time, so I looked around and took my time shopping. One lady worker was talking to another behind me as I was trying on used shoes (that were probably donated and costed the store nothing). She said she was going to have to go do her walk-through, then came and hung out where I was. The worst offender was a very old red-headed lady who was the cashier that day. I had found a couple of things I was going to buy and browsed some more. Meanwhile, said cashier and some ladies who were shopping had this back-and-forth going on...it was supposed to be about a Christmas sale that was going on, but why would they say "You would think people would take the hint." What? Hint to what, buy the clothes on the Christmas rack? No. That's not what it was. The employee(s) were making stupid remarks to make me uncomfortable and to try and hurry me out of their fine, fine second-hand store. I spent $15 cash and got a used dress shirt for $9 and a pair of black flat "dress" shoes that fell apart as soon as I tried to wear them. I was very regretful to have spent a dime on sub-par thrift store merchandise of any kind at Riley's Treasures, but especially the shoes as it was embarrassing to have had to wear them to work that first night. The only treasure was when I got outside the building and didn't have to hear the whiny, nagging voices of those biddy hens any longer. Truth, from yours trulyxoLBR.

Prices have increased to nearly three times and are outrageous for used, dirty, broken and old items. For example they priced an old, moldy 4" clay flower pot at $5.00. I promptly went to Walmart and bought a new one for .99 cents! LOL I have donated literally hundreds of items to this facility over the last few years. Many times I dropped off the items when the store was closed but came back the next day to get my donation receipt for taxes. I went into the drop off facility this week and asked the attendant for a receipt for items that I had dropped off earlier this week. He was very rude and said if he doesn't SEE the drop off, he doesn't give receipts! Really? Where is it posted that the donner should beware of dropping items off when there is not an attendant present? I asked to speak to the manager, which was promply brought over. She was more rude than him! I explained that I have always been able to get a receipt if an attendant wasn't present and she blurted out that SHE was the manager now and she doesn't allow that. I told her I'd never donate another item to her flea (bag) market and she quipped she didn't care. Lots of luck, manager, raising money for this charity if your donation drop off! But like you made very clear, you don't care!

Some items, however, must've been priced by an overzealous volunteer who obviously worked for Sotheby's London before retiring to "posh" Branson, MO. I really love their sister store in Nixa & pop in weekly for "treasures" to boost my chef-worthy kitchen pantry without paying the Pampered Chef or Sur Le Tablé pricing!
