I went to Cordes to have a programming issue with my '13 GS Vette and no hot starting. Joe, Bryan and Nick all looked and evaluated the tune. They found a cylinder missing every other sequence, poor fuel delivery and advised me to change my injectors so they got me the best.(ID) I had it dyno tuned which I was just hoping for reliability and efficiency since the build was good, the prior tuner... not so much. Well these guy did their job so well the car now once again scares me. Any day you can mash the throttle at 100 mph and the tires brake loose while pulling like a branded mule through 165 mph that's insane. Thank you Cordes for the outstanding work and surprising a sceptic aircraft mechanic. So I now have too much power (damn, a smoking blown Vette) and the reliability I was looking for. I finally saved enough money to get my supercharger for my car I talked to Fu Performance Shop cordos by far seem to have the best knowledge and where the nicest and they're the only shop that didn't talk s*** about other shops what's goes a long ways cuz they don't need to add friends to say they're too expensive and all kinds of crap they are the same price as anyone else and Joe friendly guy take the time to talk to you and help to make the right decision and not just that what you want okay your money he'll tell you if it's a bad decision or not he'll do it if you still want to but he put my supercharger on I thought was a fair price I was done with supposed to be then and it's been running great every sense send some more money get some more things done 500hp it's not too bad I want a little more read more

This place is a complete scam. Joe Cordes stole my 2005 Dodge Viper after I paid him over 20,000 in upgrades the car blew up in first 100 miles. Took it back and paid another 3,000 to fix it and then the car overheated and blew up in the first 25 miles. Joe came and picked it up with his tow truck back in June 2014 telling me he will make it right and I have a year and a half of texts saying he will but has not given he car back still to this day. I have had to hire 2 attorneys paying over 5,000 in attorney fees and even though joe has promised 2 separate attorneys my car back I still don't have it. I'm so upset that someone can just steal my car and nothing is done about it. Joe should be arrested and his shop closed down. I've also filed with the BBB and he has ignored them as well. Cordes Performance has their knowledge and expertise in the LS platform. Sometimes customers come from out of state to have their Corvette, CTS, or Camaro to be worked on. Cordes' is well known in the Valley, and has build's that have won some awards (Street Car takeover, etc.) However, this knowledge doesn't translate to other platforms. I always get the impression that performance shops each think that their crap doesn't stink and will try to tune everything. AFR is AFR, spark advance is spark advance, but if it was that simple then anyone can take their car anywhere for the same performance gains and quality. The unfortunate reality, is that CPR simply doesn't have deep knowledge of the Coyote for the S197 or S550 platforms. When you hear things like "Cylinder #8 issue" or "550 RWHP is the most you can get out of these things" that doesn't instill confidence. Keep in mind, a 550 RWHP build from CPR on the S197 platform is roughly $11,500. This is a Magnum supercharger, intercooler, long tube headers, fuel injectors, and a methanol injection kit. Meanwhile, other performance shops like JPC, VMP, Revan Racing, Griggs Racing, Lund, et. all, will hit 650 RWHP with an average of $8500 invested. On top of that, CPR doesn't tune the Coyote; tuning is farmed out to AZ Dyno Chip, or more recently, UMS Tuning. If you are looking for a company to do half the job, poor cost/performance ratio, then I guess that's ok? I honestly do not get it. Stick to what you know; the LS platform. There is absolutely no shame in that, but don't pretend you're an expert on every car. Shoot up to Modern Performance and Tuning (formerly Fox Body Performance), Arizona Elite Motorsports, or PBK Motorsports if you are looking for knowledgable people and companies for the Coyote. Else, have your car shipped to VMP or JPC. read more

Joe and his crew are super helpful and friendly. I took them a B&B exhaust to be installed on my C5 Vette. During the install there were some issues with the fitment and Joe was able to work with B&B to get the situation resolved quickly. Having had both awesome (building a second gen myself) and miserable (having a different shop build a fourth gen) experiences with Camaro projects, when I bought my fifth gen I was unsure of whether I should do the work myself or trust a shop. I did a ton of research (check out Cordes's reviews on the various forums) before deciding to trust this shop with my car. At the end of the day, the selling point was my interaction with Joe. He is clearly the expert when it comes to these motors and shot me perfectly straight.
