I was extremely pleased with my experience with Claire Costantino and the law firm of Cordell & Cordell. I have read some of the other reviews on this site and was a little taken back. I experienced the opposite, thankfully. Prior to retaining services at Cordell & Cordell, I had consulted with two other law firms. The other law firms did not match the same resources at their disposal compared to Cordell & Cordell, as well as, the experience of their attorneys. Furthermore, during my consultations with the other firms, the outcomes they discussed seemed extremely grim and felt one sided favoring the mother. In other words, I felt as if they didn't take the time to listen and explore options to approach my divorce. Regarding my attorney, Clarie Costantino, she tenaciously fought on my behalf throughout the duration of my divorce. Claire was realistic and provided different scenarios, as well as, its potential outcomes dependent on what direction I wanted to go with in the case. In addition, Claire and I on a regular basis discussed the status of the case and our game plan to gain custody. To say the least, my case was unfortunately uncommon and delt with a difficult opposing party, but Claire did not waiver and reassured me throughout the process that we were going to win in the end. Thankfully, after following the direction of my attorney, the opposing party final conceded. Listen.. divorce is absolutely horrible, and they do not have a magical wand to make it go away. However, I felt confident that I would come out ok and that i wouldn't lose my kids. Thankfully, I did gain shared custody of my children. This Law Firm was no help at all. A paid Attorney Chelsea A. Kadish, was working with the opposing team. Would not speak up for her client. Allowed the opposing team to place all their request and not put my request on the table. Visitation, which was never adhered to from the first temporary agreement. read more

Don't hire these people, do your due diligence and hire a attorney once you have your ducks in a row and a court date. So if you have to disclose your financial assets / income etc for your case, I feel that you are shooting yourself in the foot by doing so. So they know how much money you have and your income so I feel like this causes for milking. For example, I did my own groundwork and contacted my process server about some information. Called my attorney to update her about said information just so that they could have the paralegal email the server asking for information that I already knew and wasn't really essential and I'm billed for it? I'm already aware anytime I communicate with my lawyer it cost me money, no problem but, Whattttt!!??? Was told that I wouldn't need to have a motion to consolidate filed unless I was served which I wasn't but my lawyer did one any way, $$$$$, whatttt??!! Emailed a few additional photos of evidence to lawyer and that cost a few Benjamins, whatt!!!??? Long story short, I will go broke dealing with this firm at this rate and I still don't have anything to show for my money besides "it should be 6-8 months" in addition to the uncooperative and hostile nature of the person I would be battling in court that has made it abundantly clear that they will fight tooth and nail based on pure ignorance. With that being said, I have no doubt Cordell & Cordell would win my case, hell based on my case I could probably win it without counsel which I wouldn't dare attempt nor recommend. I don't recommend these guys if you need a family lawyer because you would need 5 times as much cash as you think you need and only if your ex, etc is somewhat of a reasonable person to cooperate with or even open a peaceful dialogue. In my case, my ex is determined to fight every step of the way based on pure ignorance and irrational behavior with slander and defamation of my character as her only defense. No court of law or lawyer could cool off the boiling volcano of anger and brick wall of ignorance that my ex emits. As the saying goes, don't sleep with an African American from Baltimore. The ignorance , lack of education and common sense is very real , deadly, costly and toxic. With that said, I've given up in order to avoid a fight that will only get worse and cost more. *Update* Dropped a star because it cost money to even fire these people. What a sad world we live in. *Update* Still being billed because I have to pay them to fire themselves apparently. So if they email each other about it, I have to pay for that. Nice. Although the total cost for their representation was very expensive, Ashley Ward explained things to me in a way that I could easily understand, being this was my first time going through the judicial system. With her assistance we were able to come to a fair custody agreement that would be in the best interest of my daughter. Ashley Ward was very realistic and to the point of what was possible for my situation and how we could approach the case in the best possible way. I would never recommend cordell and cordell, my lawyer took 4 times to file the marital settlement agreement it was kicked back everytime, my ex wife got a free attorney from the state she filed it once and off to court we go! I asked for the firm to review my attorney and they said he did no wrong.. course they'll say that his performance was terrible and was totally incompetent, theybdid say that he would work on it again at no cost...that was a lie he handed it to his paralegal and yep I was charged!! I requested arbitration, nope I didn't get that either, however I did get sent to a collection agency for the remainder of the fees... why pay for incompetence they are crooks....I am currently seeking damages from cordell and cordell. I would never suggest cordell and cordell to represent anybody. My lawyer lacked compassion, was extremely rude and difficult to deal with. I paid thousands of dollars for a retainer and services, only to receive one court appearance and be told that my retainer was burned through, a balance due, and a FULL retainer just to continue working my case. I had talked to my lawyer and the account care team about making payments. I was able to make one payment before they "set a deadline" for full balance due, retracted themselves from everything and left me with another couple thousand dollar bill, and just a few days before I have to respond to more legal paperwork. read more

Kristine Rea has done an amazing job helping our family with child custody issues. I found Kristine through another lawyer who actually worked for the opposing party in a case. She was really impressed with how Kristine worked to bring the two parties together. She is not the cheapest nor the most expensive lawyer and the firm charges $100 for an initial consultation fee. We've done a consultation twice for two different issues a couple years apart. She gave lots of great legal advice in that short amount of time, hoping to help us NOT have to go to court. I've never been through a divorce, but going through child custody issues could give a person a cardiac from the stress and worry over your child's well-being. There are also a lot of family law lawyers that take advantage of this and stir up more issues which end up costing more and more. I have been so impressed with how Kristine cuts to the chase and tries to bring about a solution. I sleep MUCH better at night knowing that she's representing us and she has helped bring about some major miracles in our little family. She is a person with great integrity. read more

Do not use this firm. They only bill you and do not perform the work. Court papers are not sent out and the courts expect 30 days notice and when that is not done, well the court's have an easy decision and reject the filling. Witnesses are not served for court. Do NOT use this firm. I was told one thing and they did not live up to their word. The lawyer I was given was totally out matched in court. She didn't do her due diligence and I lost on all counts. I had to hire another lawyer and appeal my case. I wasted $5000 on this firm. I was lied to on numerous occasions. I highly recommend going to your local courthouse and asking for free legal advice. They will advise you on who to hire. I don't want to see anyone else get bamboozled like I was. Go get free legal advice from your counties circuit court and they will tell you who to hire. DO NOT give this firm your hard earned money. They will send in some rookie attorney that will get eaten for breakfast, lunch & dinner and you will lose the things that are most important to you! It is an absolute disgrace this firm claims to know divorce law. I have been paying $1500/month in child support. At my last visit to Social Services I learned that I am paying above what is allowed by Md Law. My lawyer didn't even know the laws. You are only required to pay your actual child support mine is $817 plus 25% towards your arrears. I should be paying $817+25% which is 204 which equals $1021 per month but because Cordell & Cordell provided me with a lawyer that did know the basic laws I've been over paying by $480 per month for the last 6 months. The girl who handled my case should be disbarred. A complete injustice and this place had the nerve to charge me $5000. I should be able to sue them for not knowing the basic laws of divorce. If you use this firm you will lose and you can't afford to lose when it comes to divorce. Go to your county courthouse get the free advice and they will refer you to the best lawyer for your specific case.
