It's so great to be able to zip over the French border and buy French groceries. This place is like a Mini Super Walmart. Only with classy people and products. We go here for the groceries. Although I love the German grocery stores, some things are just better in France, especially the dairy products and fish. The butter from Brittany actually smalls like a cow! And their Quark (fromage blanc) can be had whipped with creme fraiche. The fish selection is amazing. And I like to get steak tartare vacuum packed that comes with a delicious sauce. My wife and I love taking the roadtrip to this Cora. It has lots of fresh fish and seafood options compared to the Globus chain in Germany. We love the French youghurts, pastries, canned tunas and sardines, cured meats, breads, beers (I actually enjoy French beers on the same level as the weisens in Germany). They have a large selection of wines, ciders, and beer (yes Globus carries more beers). They operate a wine sale tent (case sale) in the October-November timeframe. We love eating at their cafe/restaurant. It offers a pizza /beer combo and an "American Sandwich" - really a double oval cheeseburger on a baguette with a huge mountain of crispy tasty French fries. The later feeds two people with leftovers - seriously. Cora is definitely worth the trip from Germany to explore culinary options. read more

Throughout my trip to Cora, on the advice of a European friend, I found myself comparing it to other large shoppng/grocery stores in my experience, aka Walmart, Target, Costco......and it compares very favorably but without the entertaining shoppers who make trips to Mallwart so fun. read more
