The business is quite small, and so, too, is the range of product. The gal working on the day we visited was a bit too informal with us, and wasn't able to communicate about the selection of fish in a meaningful way. My partner felt like either she didn't really know the product, or she wasn't keen on talking about it with us. I fancied picking up something as it was Good Friday, so we purchased a kippered fish for four quid and went on our merry way.
Spoiled by our local fishmonger here in Greenwich, we doubt that we'd traipse on up to Blackheath to purchase from Coquillage again anytime soon. However, I would say that for those folk living in or near Blackheath village, then this could be a decent, little, one-off fish shop to patronise. read more
