This is the closest hotel to the airport, so if you want convenience, this your place. This review is mainly for the restaurant area - I have not stayed in any of the rooms. The front desk staff is friendly and all smiles when you walk in and will direct you to the bar and restaurant if that's where your destination is. The Discovery Lounge is a small room with some couches and a TV that has closed doors to the restaurant. You can rent this space out for a group, but it really can't comfortably hold more than 10 people, however, that's pushing it as some people won't be able to see the TV very well. The menu features wings, cheesburgers, fish and chips, soups and all normal fair you'd find in a casual Christchurch restaurant. The food will fill you up, but won't leave you begging for more. I had the cheeseburger and chicken wings. The wings include the whole appendage which is different, but not unwelcome. They had good seasoning but were not spicy considering the jalapeno glaze. The burger was a small patty on a big bun, but was cooked well. They had a nice selection of beers on draught as well as a full bar. The servers are attentive and friendly. If you're staying here, it would be a very nice and convenient place to grab dinner and drinks. The free WiFi is a nice commodity as well. read more
