Fantastic authentic Mexican cafe right across the street from our hotel. They didn't have any specifically vegan options, but they did have fajitas and they just gave extra veggies instead of meat. I believe they even charged less since there was no meat. The tortillas were homemade and the veggies were ACTUALLY FAJITA VEGGIES (onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and tomatoes). I can't tell you how many times I've had a "veggie" something at a non-authentic Mexican restaurant and it's like they add a steamed bag of broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots to the other veggies. BUT - this place was excellent! The veggies were cooked and seasoned and the combination of the yellow rice and refried beans was amazing! They were also accommodating in removing the cheese and sour cream. My boyfriend had some steak enchiladas. He was expecting the steak to be INSIDE the enchilada, but instead there was a giant steak on top. It was a little difficult to cut up at the hotel, but he said it was delicious. He devoured them and he said the red/orange sauce was amazing. If you are going here while driving through, I would suggest you ask the restaurant to cut up the steak for you. Okay so I seriously stopped eating for a second to write this review. This place is literally gold. There's not much of a sign on the restaurant to display how amazing it is, and I think people miss it because of that, but when you walk inside its all NEW and REMODELED, and CLEAN!!! . The staff is very friendly and gives a great welcoming energy and the food is great. EAT HERE. Now that we know about this we vowed to stop here every time we pass through highway 80. The Philly cheesesteak is the best I've ever had. It doesn't even compare to California. The fajitas are also bomb. They have a generous portions and really great salsa. I really wish that I would have taken a picture of my food to post. I was just so hungry that I had to dig in. This place is so good that we came back two days in a row. I got the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. You have to ask for it. It's not on the regular menu. The menudo and the posole were delicious. The kids menu was so good and the prices are fantastic. The tortillas were so good that we bought some to go for the car ride home for the kids. The looks from the outside is not the best. But I promise you will not be disappointed. The inside was very very clean. The bathrooms were clean. The wait staff was very attentive and everyone seemed to be happy and the cook was consistent with his awesome down home cooking skills. We are originally from San Diego. We have been living in Boise for 2 years and no place came close to this place. We would like to come back just to come eat here. Lastly if you are lucky enough to get Isabelle as your waitress then consider yourself well taken care of. She is very pleasant and anticipated our needs. The server was friendly and the bill was cheap, but the food was awful. My pork chops were sliced thin, over-cooked, and tough, the gravy tasted terrible, and the side of vegetables looked and tasted awful. The highlight of the meal was the warm dinner roll. read more

You don't expect to get great food in a tiny town in the middle of nowhere when there isn't any competition to speak of. Yet the food here was really, really good (not knock-your-socks-off-there-should-be-an-article-in-a-magazine kind of good, but if there was a diner-food competition, this place would win). The building looks like a former fast-food place, but it was incredibly clean (even the restroooms, which is how I judge the kitchen); the staff was attentive and did I mention the food was really, really good? We had a Saturday special of steak and two enchiladas served with a side of lettuce, tomato, guacamole. The steak was large-ish and very tasty, although a bit tough (what do you want for an incredibly reasonable $9.99?), the enchiladas were mild but good and the lettuce, tomatoes and guac were all very fresh. Gotta wonder how they get such good produce in the middle of the desert. This is probably the best place for a hundred miles in any direction and I'll definitely go there again when I get the chance. One point - if you have a low vehicle, park on the street or catch the driveway at an angle - it's a steep hump. read more

Remember those little diners from the 50s? Off the main road but the place the locals went to? A place that is just not a link in a chain of cafes across the nation? This is it. Forget the cafes in the casinos in West Windover, "cross the border" over into Utah to eat here. Excellent service, great food at a good price. The kind staff and edible food beats everything else in town from what I can tell, which is the only reason this is even 2 stars. My sister and I stopped in after being on the road for two days, with the 4.5 average we really expected a good dinner. We both got the special (two cheese enchiladas & a taco). She ordered with flour tortillas & I ordered with corn. We both got corn. I did expect a little better than canned sauce being poured over the lukewarm food, all of which would have been fine, but the cheese wasn't even melted inside. I mean really another minute in the microwave would have "fixed" it. This all could have been more forgivable if we hadn't waited 30 minutes for our food. read more

During our trip home from celebrating the holidays up north, we stopped by this cafe after passing the neon sign casinos and had the best dinner! Janette was so pleasant and checked in on us to make sure our dining experience was the best. Great food! Great atmosphere! Great location! The menu had a variety of choices which made it hard to choose. Make sure to check the specials and the soup of the day started our meal off right! It's hard to find but I would go here over some-so called restaurants around Wendover. Imagine a small improvement to Denny's and this is "Copper Kettle". The tables and seats are really old and uncomfortable to sit on. read more

Dropped by late after arriving at the Best Western a block or two away. BLT came with a nice side salad and with great bacon on the BLT. I had the "special"...Chile Verde Burrito with great beans with cheese and rice and small salad with guacamole..Burrito had no "fillers" such as rice and beans...more like a large enchilada...lots of really tasty tender pork. With beverage and under $20 for both...all excellent with great friendly service. Another member of our party had the chicken quesadilla (on appetizer menu)...large and also excellent. read more

I was very disappointed in yelp reviews for this restaurant. Never been led wrong til now. I got chicken fajitas and you could tell the chicken and peppers and onions came from a package. Chanced Copper Kettle based on Yelp reviews... it was worth it. My husband ordered the fajitas and was disappointed we wouldn't be back for lunch the next day.
