Went to Copas Terraço Bar as a part of the cocktail nights event on the occasion of World Gin Day, 2016. I did not know the place but then World Gin Day & Cocktail Nights along with a group of yelper friends, no thinking required, I was there.
To get to the place by public transport after dark is kinda dicey as the streets are dark, I recommend that you Uber it or come with friends. The place is quite cool - lots of bean bags, sofas in a ample space upstairs. They do have space downstairs along with a barber shop but I did not get to explore this area. On a chilly day, it tends to get cold here so they place small blankets all around which is a great detail. The overall ambience is quite cool.
As it was World Gin Day, I had a Gin & Tonic of the house - they used Bulldog Gin and with a tea infusion and a dash of Campari - quite an interesting mix. Once I had the drink, I saw that their bar menu was, strangely, quite limited. On reading other yelp reviews saying the same thing, I saw comments from the business that states that they over 30 options of G&T - I am yet to see this menu because the menu I saw had like a handful of options, so much so that I repeated the same drink. As for food options, I saw that there was a small kiosk of mercian food - nachos were at R$ 30 which I think were too expensive for what they served.
The place has a cool vibe but the service is ordinary and cocktail menu is seriously limited. Also I was told that we had a reservation for our group but when we got there, they had hardly separated sufficient space for us. Maybe we got there a bit too early, maybe this place becomes more interesting later on, maybe they will find the menu with 30 G&T's - I don't really plan on returning to Copas. read more
