Although we walk by this store a lot, we had never set foot in it. Tonight they had a table set up…read morefor a book signing as we've seen large crowds in there before. The books are nicely arranged in narrow aisles to make the most of the space.
In the far back is a cafe but it's really a full restaurant. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. The daily specials are quite reasonably priced. (R$40 for an appetizer, main meal, and dessert).
We just stopped by for drinks and a snack. I ordered a lichii and coconut drink which was quite tasty. They even serve it with a spoon so you can fish out the lichii fruit and eat them. The blackberry and maracuja (passion fruit) was actually quite tart so ask for sugar even if you like your fruit drinks to be naturally sweet. The hummus was delicious (I like it better than yalla, which specializes in Mediterranean food) and the pita chips were nicely toasted.
Service was friendly and prices reasonable. They had a good variety of coffees and dessert too if you're only look for a short break.
