Not from Memphis so I'll keep the review short. Was having lunch across the street, and was looking up the menu of coppers. The business had a single 1 star review with no images so figured I would go in to refute said review. The space is large, and inviting with plenty of booths, TV's and a modern-rustic Vibe. I helped myself to the bar where the bartender was super friendly. To make it even better it was bustling with live music. The bar menu has a decent selection of cocktails and wonderful selection of beers on tap. Don't judge the business on that single review because the live music, alone, is worth the visit.

    Sad, gray, seasonless burger.

The burgers are awful! The meat was gray, and there is absolutely no seasoning. There is no salt or pepper provided on the tables. By the time I got S&P, the burger was cold. There was no amount of seasoning to save this gray, sad, tasteless disc. The wings were good! BUT, they don't offer any additional napkins unless you request. I would think if someone orders wet wings, bring them more than just one little napkin. The shrimp po'boy was mostly bun, and needs at least 2 more shrimp to qualify as a sandwich. On the positive, our server was extremely nice. The interior is clean. Great location , but work on that food.

Cajun Chicken pasta wasn't good at all.

The sauce tasted like it came from a jar, with a consistency similar to canned cream of chicken soup--thick and lacking depth. The noodles were overcooked, and the chicken was dry. To elevate the dish, consider reworking the recipe for more flavor and texture, and adding fresh ingredients like broccoli, spinach, or carrots to bring some color, nutrition, and balance to the plate.

Worst gumbo I've ever had. Watery, smelled and looked like vomit and didn't taste much better. Will never eat there again.

I haven't had the best of luck with Chinese food in Memphis so I did everything I could to suppress this unwanted craving, however, I just couldn't help myself. Little Petals pops up on Yelp as a possibility. I read the reviews and scrolled through the pictures. After looking at the location, I realized it was only an 8-minute drive from where we were. Why not, right? The restaurant is easy to miss. It sits right on the corner in an old shanty building nestled in the middle of downtown Memphis. The furniture and décor were of a standard Chinese eatery, nothing special; but the employees were warm and welcoming, greeting me with hellos and smiles. I got the black pepper chicken that came with a spring roll. I ordered an extra side of pork egg rolls because that's usually my go to. Everything was fantastic! It gives you the taste of that old school Chinese food you used to have as a kid, but better quality. The chicken was moist, flavorful and peppery. The egg rolls had the perfect amount of crispy crunch---they seemed handmade as well! Pricing is a little higher from when I was a kid, but you still won't break the bank here! As I started to think that great Chinese food was not an option for Memphis, Little Petals showed up at the right time and made me a believer!

So, Little Petals, i.e., Petals of a Peony, Jr.: no one was inside. I assume this to be per usual for 2:30pm on a Tuesday. It follows then, that the service was, um, efficient and bespoke. Ordered the pork eggrolls (very good, the sauce that came with it - oddly the perfect amount was given in a little rectangular container - made these delectable) and the General Peony's Chicken. And this was damned good. Pricey for lunch, but I could have made 2 or 3 meals off of it. A satisfying amount of heat from the szcheuan (sp?) peppers; not overly breaded so as to make it a fried dough dish, but rather to carry the sauce on the chicken; the chicken was a quality cut, nicely sized per bite. A new go-to for lunch downtown.

There is plenty of parking in a lot across the street. We went inside and found it to be pretty busy, but we got a table for 4 quickly. The place was clean and homey-feeling and I loved the fact that they used disposable plates, utensils and napkins! It is probably way easier on the crew to clean up, and it adds to the relaxed atmosphere. I had the corn nuggets to start, yum! We finished them easily, they were so good. Then the entree of my chicken tenders, beans, and Mac and cheese came out, along with my sweet tea. The sweet tea was perfect, I drank a whole one during my meal and they gave me another to go in the souvenir Gus's cup. The food was just great, chicken was juicy and perfectly crunchy on the outside. Beans and Mac and cheese, delicious! I ate all of it even though I was stuffed. I even went so far as to order a piece of pecan pie for dessert, but unfortunately our server came back out to tell us they were out of it! Guess it wasn't meant to be (this time)! Our server was really friendly during our whole meal, chatted with us a little and made sure we had a great experience! Bottom line.... Go to Gus's!

The waiter was nice and attentive. He made sure we had what we needed and wanted. Seven is his name. The food was not world famous. The chicken was spicy and bland. No seasoning. I gave it 2 stars because it was free parking in front of restaurant and the good service from seven.

She was extremely pleasant and welcoming. The portions are massive and the flavor intense. Jacob got the salad which had way more on it than explained. He loved it. I got the truffle sandwich and it was absolutely the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. It had two giant fried tenders on it which were juicy and crispy with their amazing wingman sauce. It also had a truffle aioli that was subtle but definitely delicious. The fries are season and crispy on the outside but creamy on the inside. We got the wingman platter. For the love of God this was incredible. The wings were juicy as well as nicely crispy. The flavors, now here's where they hit. There was a honey mustard, wingman, lemon pepper and a type of jerk curry. Well let's say this, I NEVER dipped. Not once. The seasoning on every one of these was magnificent. The curry was my favorite. It had a unique flavor with a kick. Best wings Ever!!! The place earns its name. We also had the rolls which were spicy and flavorful. Wouldn't pass on those either. This place deserves more than 5 stars. If you're looking for fried chicken or wings DON'T MISS this place. I am ruined now, because I will forever want this food every time I want fried chicken. When it came to which flavors to pick, I knew I had to try their award-winning flavor, Memphis Buffalo. I'm not a big wing person, so it was just ok to me. It was good, but didn't wow me. Also, I always get boneless, so I'm not sure if the flavor is different on regular wings- so take my review with a large grain of salt if you're a big wing person. The fries were really good but the flavored versions weren't that impressive so I'd rather just stick to the regular fries. The Pineapple Habanero was really good though. I really liked the flavor and the kick. It's one of the spicier things on the menu so I feel like I could handle the spiciest. I'd come back and try more flavors! The wings are smoked with the sauce added later. The wings taste good but they are pretty expensive for what they are. People should try the wings but I prefer deep fried wings that hold the sauce better.

The food is dang near trash, the service is trasher!! I've yet to understand how people apply for a job they clearly want and then are horrible at that role!! I NEED servers to understand and hear me CLEARLY, you DO NOT get paid if there are no customers. So next time, you're having a bad day, please go in the restroom and get yourself together and then come back and serve the people with a pleasant attitude AND smile on your face. As far as I'm concerned be an actress for the day if that helps. Came to Sage for a friend's birthday brunch. Sitting was fine as she had reservations. Mind you, we were close to end of closing time (they accepted the reservation) but that's NO EXCUSE for running out of food items. Who's doing inventory? Just asking, or how about send someone to Kroger to get the missing items. People need to learn to be creative and think outside the box vs "we out of erthing". As I was saying, immediately hit us with, "last call for food is at 2:30p and we're out dang near everything". WTF...fine let me order the stuff no one wants. I ordered the shrimp and grits and asked if the tails could be removed. You would have thought I asked for someone to sign the Bill of Rights. A simple, "I'll put that request in with the kitchen" would have sufficed instead of telling me "what they don't normally do". I don't normally tip when I get bad service but yet when you're in large party you have to, so go figure. The Shrimp and grits were BASIC; where's the Gouda cheese (I was told it's a "sauce", NO!! I want to TASTE my cheese). I stuck with water in fear of "we don't have XYZ". Luckily the table company was great because the service nor the food was NOT. Oh I'll add this bit, a guest at the table was told "they were out of French Toast" (mind you it's bread, can the chef cook, asking for a friend). At least two orders of French Toast came out after this notice. . Then they served us plastic ware!!! Have you know anyone to eat S&Gs with plastic ware, not to self, start traveling with my own utensils. I'm all about cleanliness but come on, some dishes deserve proper cutlery. Then two guest arrived later and ordered French Toast. Wait, we thought you were out? Waitress: "Oh the cook made a mistake and you already had paced your order." Excuse, Miss Ma'am, where do they do that? Free Lesson here: come back to the table and notify the guest there was an error and ASK if they'd like to change their order. I promise you that will take your server experience far!! So I say, if you couldn't care less about exceptional service or food, this is your place!!! Just not for me; excuse me for expecting more out of some restaurants (fill in the blank).

This entire restaurant is built on a slight slope, and they did not level the foundation when building out the restaurant, so if you're sitting at your table and the table is aligned north to south, you will see a slight lean to the flooring. Also, if you have any juices on your plate of food, the juices will flow toward Beale Street. I wanted to try their tamales but will have to do it on a subsequent visit. This visit we ordered the bowl of gumbo and the Memphis strip steak which is pre-cut for you. The gumbo is slightly salty but good. The strip steak was really good, filling and cooked to order. I chose new potatoes as my one side. Service here can be a little difficult depending how busy they are and how wild your fellow patrons in the restaurant can be. It took a long time to pay the bill here due to a large party coming in right when we were wanting to pay and our server was attending to them for about 15 mins while we were trying to flag him down. Other than that, we had no other problems. I would happily return the next time I'm in the downtown area and looking for food near Beale Street.
