Less than three years after installation--and actually starting a little over two years in--our fence began separating. Upon closer inspection, it's clear that staples were used instead of screws in areas, which is not what was promised. This has led to premature failure and a fence that simply hasn't held up the way it should, especially considering the amount we invested. To be fair, we were initially satisfied with the overall look of the fence, even though the project took longer than originally communicated. We also followed all maintenance instructions provided. However, the structural issues have completely overshadowed that early satisfaction. What's been most frustrating is the lack of follow-through. When we initially reached out, the owner, Mike, said he would come take a look after returning from an international trip--but that was nearly six months ago. Since then, there has been no response to calls or texts from either me or my husband. Mike was very kind and personable, which makes this situation even more disappointing. While the customer service felt genuine at first, the lack of follow-up hasn't been fair to us as customers. For a company that charges premium prices and promotes quality craftsmanship, this level of durability and customer service is unacceptable. We expected better communication and accountability, especially for a product that hasn't even lasted three years. I would not recommend this company based on our experience. Ended up having two hugely opposing experiences with this place…read more I had a small spot weld for a piece of brewing equipment that would have taken 2 minutes to weld. Rather than throw it away, I figured I'd support a local business and keep the part out of the landfill. After calling around to other welding companies, the representative at fields seemed very willing to help. He told me they charge $99 per hour for aluminum welding and I made it clear that I was looking for a weld on an item worth $20.00 to replace but would only take 2-5 minutes max. He assured me they would work with me and that I should bring the item by (a 35 minute drive from where I live). I then drove up north and arrived hopeful. As I walked into the welding shop there are 6 guys sitting around eating pizza and I proceed to say "I called about 40 minutes ago and spoke to a gentleman about fixing this piece of brewing equipment." No reply..... just stares. I then look around waiting for anyone to respond. Finally after that moment of WTF silence some woman in the back replied that the guys were all busy and that she could take down my information. "OK" I proceeded to re-explain what I had discussed on the phone to her in front of the 6 mutes. One guy finally gets up and says: "We charge $99 an hour" Me: "This isn't an expensive or difficult part to repair, so that wouldn't make sense to fix" Me: "Is there any way you guys could take it and pop the one tiny spot weld when someone has a chance" Mute 1: "Not much you can do for $19.95, best I can do is $50" Me: "it's worth $19.95, that just wouldn't make any sense" Mute 1: "sorry" Me: "Glad you guys had me drive 35 minutes up here to tell me useless information, have a great day" Obviously didn't speak to anyone who owns this property. Lesson learned, get the name and information of the person who offers useful information to you before walking into a lack luster business such as Fields.
