I know Americans think Europeans are paid well, and by comparison to servers in North America hourly wise yes. But it's not good wages and these people deserve tips, especially if the service is good!!!!! I spoke to a wonderful server at a place in Lindau Germany where there is still a huge misconception that they make good money and it's just simply not true. Sadly this restaurant is not a shining example of good food, Swiss German food, or traditional Swiss German food. There are many things on the menu they do not have, or won't make. I think they do the business they do because they have the space and can accommodate very large groups and ITS THE ONLY ONE THERE that's consistently open. Personally the sandwiches from the COOP were 1000% better than the food I had at the restaurant. (Which I highly recommend) Also please be advised you are paying quite handsomely for just ok food, think 70 USD for a happy meal.
