My bf took me on a mini road trip to Tisdale and said the pub was a must-try so we came here for…read morelunch!
I was a bit unsure at first when I gazed at the front of the building. On the outside, it gave a 'am I sure a city-girl like me should be walking into here?' type of vibe haha (of which I now find to be part of allure and charm of this place). But don't be wary of those nondescript black doors, because once I got in and saw the place I was thoroughly surprised and impressed! Inside it is very spacious and alive with bright and decorative sports memorabilia and a variety of fun activities to do such as, pool, karaoke, VLT and darts
For food, it had all the staple pub foods such as burgers, wraps, fries, wings, etc. Mr C ordered the J's Pub Burger which comes with two fried onion rings, two patties, bacon , lettuce, tomato, pickles and a side of fries . He enjoyed his burger while I, of course, stole some of his fries and looooved them. I wanted to eat it all but my food was calling for me so I only ate a few pieces
I ordered the $13.95 special which comes with 4 pcs of chicken strips, Caesar salad and two slices of garlic toast. For the strips, I got Baja Chipotle dipping sauce and I was surprised how much I liked it! I mainly got it cause it's a cool name but it ended up being a great dip for the already delish chicken strips the salad was also perfect cause it wasn't over or under-sauced. I didn't care for the garlic toast as much but it was a nice addition.
Overall, it was a great experience and definitely something of a hidden gem only locals would know of... but not anymore! really glad I got the chance to experience it.
P.S. the ice in the urinals was definitely a nice throwback (and in case you're wondering, no, I did not got in there ... Mr. C was my scout on this one. But it's all part of a day in the life a traveling foodie ;).
