I will be sure to book Scott for any other event I have in the area!

We know the wineries, and he set up times and booked reservations as needed. If you are not familiar, he can book an itinerary based on your group preferences. This year, we had Don as our driver, and he was great. The right balance of friendly, without being annoying. AFFORDABLE 5-STAR EXPERIENCE! When my wife and I first visited the TC wineries several years ago…read morewe were happy to drive ourselves because it was just the two of us. But we quickly noticed there was a premium tour experience available through Grand Traverse Tours. Their shiny and clean premium vehicles were always parked right at the entrance and their groups were being guided past the lines we stood in by their guide and driver. We knew then that when we returned we would want to be a part of their VIP experience, and that we would want to bring friends with us to enjoy it. INITIAL CONTACT: After reviewing their easy to navigate and well organized homepage we completed an online reservation request. We received a prompt and timely response to confirm availability and were directed to call at our convenience to make a specific reservation. I spoke with the owner Greg and he is terrific to work with. He was happy to answer all of my questions in an unhurried and no pressure manner. His guidance when creating our custom itinerary was much appreciated as he helped us to narrow down the very many choices there are to make sure we found the right tour for our group - which we most certainly did. COST: We were presently surprised to discover that the cost of their tours is very competitive to the more average experiences. In fact, with as few as 6 people we were actually ahead financially and of course enjoyed the VIP experience to boot. DRIVER / GUIDE: Todd arrived early, was professionally dressed, and most pleasant to be around. He knew the wineries as well as you would expect and was happy to share his insights with us. He called the day before to introduce himself as well as the morning of our event just to make sure all was well. He was always there when you needed him and never hard to find. His presence definitely elevated our experience. THE VEHICLE: Our group has all been in similar domestically produced vehicles by Ford and GM and such at one time or another so we were all expecting the ride to be like that of a school bus or airport shuttle - bumpy, noisy, and just adequately comfortable. We were pleasantly surprised by the ride quality and comfort of their Mercedes-Benz A-Style Limousine which rivaled that of the MB sedans - no kidding. It was like gliding on a magic carpet, members of our group made several comments in this regard, myself included. THE VIP EXPERIENCE: As we anticipated our group was dropped and picked up right at the entrance and Todd walked us in and guided us to the front of the lines at each stop. Checking in was effortless and quick. We never felt rushed and our pace was relaxing and fun. SUMMARY: We can hardly wait to return to Traverse City, and when we do we will of course be calling Grand Traverse Tours to help elevate our experience once again.

I called her again 3 days before the trip to re-confirm the details which she did. When we arrived at the airport for a ride, she said she didn't have me on her schedule. She offered to come get us, but she was an hour and a half away - leaving us stranded at the airport looking for another ride. A few days later, I reluctantly called her to confirm our ride back to Traverse City, which we had scheduled for between 10-11am. She seemed to not remember me from stranding me 3 days prior. She said she would come get me at 8am instead of our agreed upon time. When I told her that wouldn't work and that I would book with a different company she became upset. I told her I would probably have to book a back-up ride if I booked with her anyways since she was so unorganized and had already left us stranded once. I called Chariot and was immediately told by the woman on the other line to text her our details as she was on the road. I sent all of our details to chariot reserving a 845 am trip from Boyne Mountain resort to Traverse city. I also asked via text if I could get a confirmation as in my past experiences that was something provided in one form or another. I did receive a text confirmation and at that point went on to enjoy celebrating a best friends wedding. After hearing a few stories from other guests about getting stranded by their car service,I reached out to chariot asking for one more confirmation about 845 am pickup...this was the night before the ride. I received one message back stating that "I already excepted a ride with another company." I immediately tried to reach out to chariot to speak on the phone instead of text and my calls or texts no longer went through Which leads me to believe I was blocked. My fiancé and I then were tasked with calling every company we can in every nearby city (with 8 hours to spare) to see if we could still catch the only flight out that day. I was lucky enough to find an amazing company who drove us down . Long story short is NEVER rely on chariot, especially if you are not from around there. We had booked a limo about a month ago for our bachelorette party, driver shows up with an old disgusting van because the limo "broke down." The company didn't even have the decency to call us and let us know before showing up with this atrocity of a vehicle. If they had, we could have had a little time to at least look for a different limousine to rent for the bachelorette party. Instead, the driver shows up and unapologetically announces that the limo we reserved was unavailable. We tried to talk to him and see if there was any way we could get what we were supposed to be paying for. APPARENTLY this company only has ONE limousine. HOW DOES A SERVICE SUCH AS THIS HAVE ONLY ONE LIMO? Astounding. Also- icing on the cake- the driver was absolutely maniacal. He whipped the van around curves way too fast. We also did a little off roading. We thought for sure we would toss our cookies and/or meet our makers. I had to call several times to speak with Mike who is supposedly the person one must talk to in order to "make things right". I left two voicemails and continued calling. While the rest of my party was tasting wine, I was sitting in the parlor trying to get ahold of this man. I finally got through, and he continuously talked over me just making things worse. He ended up giving us somewhat of a discount, but no discount could have made up for this... experience. ALSO this was a return visit for us. The first time we had these guys, they gave us the wrong vehicle as well. Long story short, if you want an event full of sickness and uncertainty, these guys are great. Spectacular even. But for a once in a lifetime event where you want what you pay for, stay away.
