I was referred to Cooke, Lavender, Massey & Company, P.C. when looking for a good accountant. I worked most closely with Evan and Jeff. Both accountants were extremely professional, exceptionally knowledgeable, and very helpful. Jeff especially had a lightning-fast response time to answer any/all questions and offered his insight for a complex situation. I know very little about tax preparation but this firm made it easy. I would would recommend them without reservation. read more

This Accounting Firm has been preparing tax returns for us for 20 plus years. They are personable, reliable, up to date on tax requirements, time conscious and accurate. We have had zero issues with the IRS. Our taxes are a little complex as we have personal and small business returns. Highly recommend this Accounting Firm. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! I CANNOT EMPHASIZE THAT ENOUGH. They have 100 phone numbers none of…read morewhich work. They say "this is the reservation desk," "This is not (your company)," You need to contact your company." The list goes on. They tell you you have the wrong phone number but it's the one on their website and they refuse to give you another number. They refuse to allow you to speak with a supervisor, which probably wouldn't do any good anyway. People are RUDE, cannot speak English, and hang up on you when you cannot understand. I purchased an airline ticket through them. When I called to get a receipt, I was told that I had purchased a ticket for "standby," which I absolutely did not. Last year, I had the same problem. They say you purchase a "standby" and then want to charge you extra to get a confirmation that your flight is actually booked. I cannot say enough bad stuff about this company. Their employees are beyond hateful and totally unwilling to help you. Next time you want to book a flight, do it directly through the airline. The price is the same and the headache is not nearly as bad. THESE PEOPLE ARE AWFUL AND I WISH THERE WAS SOME WAY TO GET THEM OUT OF THE LOOP ON EVERYTHING, AS IN DO AWAY WITH THAT COMPANY FOR GOOD. THEY ARE HORRIBLE. Wish I could give them a 0 rating or even a -10. HORRIBLE. This has been my experience and I will never use them again for ANYTHING. You shouldn't either. Save your sanity.

Granted, I kept really good records during the years, but Brian guided me through the process, pointed out where my pain points will be, and helped me catch up and get straight with IRS and state. There was no judgment on his part, and the whole process made me wish I knew about Brian's services sooner, I would have saved buku in late filing penalties. I would recommend Blue Ridge Bookkeeping for sure - much better experience than "one size fits all" type tax prep services.
