It just like all the other cook outs, I always get a tray got burger, Cajun fries, and a quesadilla with a Diet Coke. And I paid for another tray and the total was like $16. Went to pee and food was ready by time I got out of bathroom. Inside in done in auburn

large coke filled completely with huge ice no coke

this was my large coke from cookout the whole thing is just filled with one huge chunk of ice and i wasn't even given a straw either, like they knew there was nothing to drink! and even when i asked for a straw after being given it i was rudely told "there is one in the bag" then slammed the window shut, which there was NOT one in the bag. idk how you can simply mess up a coke of all things, but i'm definitely disappointed to wait in line for 20 minutes for this...

Blueberry milkshake (bottom) and peanut butter fudge milkshake (top), each $2.99

MILKSHAKE REVIEW ONLY! While Cook Out's grub has me wary and I have yet to brave it, I figured milkshakes would be a summer-appropriate and safe way of testing out this NC-based chain's abilities. Many of the ~40 options sounded appetizing. I ended up ordering a blueberry milkshake; all flavors are $2.99 each, one size. It wasn't too long before our numbers were called. These milkshakes pass the straw test, being too thick to slurp up, excellent. You'll want to grab a spoon to eat these treats. And maybe a cup of water, though I didn't consider the milkshake extremely saccharine. I appreciated how the shake wasn't a ghastly fake blue hue and how there were real blueberries mixed in. Probably frozen but legit fruit at least. I'll have to inquire next time. I also got to try some of a peanut butter fudge milkshake. Made with real dollops of peanut butter and chocolate syrup, you just cannot resist. Yum. And it's not fudge as though there are pieces of fudge from a candy shop at the beach, just fudge as in hot fudge sundae. There's a big hand-washing station located right by the drink machines. I approve. In addition to booths and tables inside, there were some picnic tables on a patio out front. Not the most scenic view of busy Opelika and University however. The price is certainly right at Cook Out. I predict I'll be back to try more milkshakes like the delightful-sounding Oreo mint.

My son took us by here late at night, letting us know it was an Auburn student favorite. Wow! Now I know why. You can get a ton of food for next to nothing. Shakes were great and my son got a tray full of food for $5. Awesome.

$6.52 for my order of cheddar style burger with a side of chili and chicken quesadilla plus an unsweetened iced tea. The charbroil on the burger was delicious and the bacon was yummy even though it wasn't crispy. I had lots of cheese and onions in my burger (which I liked) and it was ooey and gooey and exactly what I hoped it would taste! The side of chili was thick and smoky. It comes in a small container but it's quite dense! As for the chicken quesadilla, I probably will not order that again. It was kind of gross and I can't even assure you that what I ate was chicken (see my photo). The chicken wasn't so much shredded, as much as it was tiny, chewy leftover pieces of who-knows-what. So, I won't order chicken here again. A great bargain for how much you get and the hand-washing station at the front of the restaurant is pretty cool, too!

Large Cheese Burger, Onion Rings, chili

Amazing! The food was great and while the chili seemed small and there weren't a lot of rings together with the burger it was the perfect amount. I got this and a soda for $7. Cheaper and better than a McDonalds meal!

Very fast service considering they are extremely busy right now. It's a new spot in Auburn you know everyone is coming out in droves to try out the newest thing. The menu has a good number of options from burgers, to chicken, barbecue, hot dogs, and quesadillas. They also have a huge number of milkshake options (40 or more) so if your feeling one of those I am sure they will have something you will love. I had the Crispy Chicken Cajun wrap and I loved it and if you are into spicy food I would encourage you to try it. I will say that if you are even remotely trying to watch what you are eating this is just not the place for you to go to. There are no salad options and no options for a lettuce wrap instead of a bun on anything. But if that doesn't bother you, and for most people it doesn't, I would definitely encourage you to try this place out.

    Teeny tiny patty.

Let me start by saying the building is beautiful and the atmosphere feels like a nice restaurant. Also, the cocktail menu was definitely curated by someone who knows what they are doing. The appetizer Barrotta cheese was the best part of the evening. With that being said, the entrees were lackluster and small. Our food came out lukewarm at best and honestly seemed like not a lot of thought went into them. I know that this restaurant is supposed to be upscale, but I don't think I should pay 55$ per persons meal and still leave hungry. Also, the staff needs training. The whole time it felt like they were concerned with fast turn over and nothing else. Part of upscale dining is that the price of food and quality of service is more important than turn over time. Generally speaking I will not be back to eat here again.

We came Valentine's Day weekend from Columbus, GA after attending mass. He really wanted to take me here and I'm so glad he did. We had the bread and butter which was to die for! I think they gave us too much butter over bread ratio, but l'm not complaining haha. So warm, soft, fluffy and delish the bread was. I don't think we talked much when we had our wagyu steak main course cause it was so good, we couldn't say a word to each other. The pepper sauce with the perfectly cooked medium rare steak (which came cut in two pieces, which is a really genius move to serve steak by the way), with white asparagus, caramelized onion, rose petals, and just pure deliciousness. Literally chef's kiss. We also couldn't make up our mind about desserts cause they had a Valentine's dessert menu and the couple sitting next to us also recommended the cookies and milk. Yeah- I'm really lucky and very spoiled. Definitely hit a sugar high, but absolutely worth it. Servers and greeters were also all so kind and attentive. Definitely recommend :) I think this is the nicest dinner anyone has ever treated me to. Thanks for my amazing boyfriend- I'm so grateful.

Garrett suggested Amsterdam for lunch. Located near the Auburn campus, Amsterdam is one of more well known eateries off campus. Students may not have eaten at Amsterdam, but most can point you in the right direction. I've been tricked by appearances before but Amsterdam is in a category of its own. There's a front and a back part of the building. But I didn't know that until we were led to our table in the back. The front part is a typical "smallish" restaurant with tight booths and tables. The decorations of impressionist painters adorn the walls giving the front dining room a warm inviting feel. When we were led to our table, I thought I was being led to the restrooms. We actually went past the restrooms down a small flight of stairs and into another large room. This beautiful back room was oozing the "hidden wine cellar" vibe throughout. There were tables and chairs in the center with smaller tables and chairs lining one wall and booths on another. Then there's a large full service bar lining the 3rd wall and a workstation on the 4th wall. The ceiling with hanging panels of wood moved the light beautifully and impressed me. There was also a large floor to ceiling wine rack next to our 4 top. Gary tried their Omelet. Three eggs served with conecuh sausage, bacon, onions, peppers, cheddar cheese, and potatoes. With the sourdough toast, the plating was immaculate. I didn't get to taste it, but Gary didn't have any deiicions/ Garrett opted for their Brunch special: Apple & Pecan Freeman toast. When it arrived to our table, we immediately noticed the large slices of French toast. As promised, the French toast was topped with slices of peaches and apples and butter brown sugar with white powder sugar as well. Again I didn't get to taste, but I savored it with my eye. Paul and I tried the Amsterdam Burger. He got some fries as his side, but I upgraded my side to a beautifully plated side salad. With the added fried egg, my patty was grilled to a perfect medium with just a hint of pink. Stacked with it was some lettuce, caramelized onions, applewood bacon, spicy pickles, tomato and their traditional burger sauce all squeezed together between 2 bun halves, it has to be stabbed with a long food pick to hold it together. It was juicy, tasty and just Yom Yom Yom Yom. Our server was attentive and checked on us frequently. Other notable menu items include fried brussels, lobster egg rolls, rum salmon, breakfast croissant, snickerdoodle pancakes, steak & eggs, egg white omelet and shrimp & grits. I was told their Crab Cake & Avocado is to die for. Meal prices are on the high end but Amsterdam understands how to elevate Southern comfort food.
