We knew we'd be driving through the area so we planned to visit Dodge City but while looking on the net we found this gem instead. We ended up skipping Dodge City altogether and staying in Garden City to see the bison, and damn glad we did. Now, if you're looking for a foo foo tour similar to a zoo then this ain't it. But if you want an up close experience with bison in their natural environment (3K+ acre reserve) then THIS IS FOR YOU! The office is 1/4mi South from the Zoo, which can be hard to find in the dark but you'll be glad you made it. Once there our guide Tom, the Wildlife & Parks officer, loaded us into the suburban and away we went. The drive is less than 10min to the entrance to the reserve and bison only 5-15min of searching for the heard. Tom was knowledgeable, professional and friendly! Making it the highlight of our cross country drive.

Enjoyed the ride with John the driver who was a real hoot. A vat of information, comical and very…read morefriendly. Was a brand new trolley and very nice, a bit frosty - for me but I survived. I only gave 4 stars, because we could of have seen more if it was not for the still construction going on. Have every intention of going again, if John is driving!
