The earlier visit was definitely less crowded, but both times were totally manageable and enjoyable. The vibes are fantastic, and it's right near a park where you can sit, relax, and enjoy whatever treats you pick up. There's a great mix of vendors and everything feels well curated. Some favorites were Chaupain and their yogurt cart, Saigon Coffee, Down to Ferment Hot Sauce, and Gold Coast Mede. Lots of great tasting experiences and super friendly vendors who are happy to chat. Parking nearby was easy too, which is always a plus. Highly recommend making this part of your Saturday routine.

It has several vendors, but they are too tightly crammed together, and the narrow gap to walk past them is way too small. People bring giant strollers that fit 2-4 kids and they take up the whole walkway. The whole thing is a giant cluster and whoever came up with the logistics needs to be reassigned. There are a mix of vendors selling items, making food (breakfast lunch), chiropractors, cookie companies, salsa companies, etc. OF course there are some farmers with their fruits and veggies and there are also people selling fresh fish. There are some good options if you can find parking, deal with the chaos and crowd, and the train bells. I know it is on Saturdays from like 8 am - 2 pm, but I am not sure if it is every weekend or just certain weekends.

If you can get over the fact that parking is a nightmare (tip: get there early and use the free parking lot at the DMV) you'll love every second of your time here. We got there around 9:30am and were lucky enough to snag a spot at the aforementioned lot - about a 5 minute walk from the start of the market. From there, we took about 2 hours to fully explore, including a quick stop at a cute and affordably-priced vintage stop right off the vendors' booths. There is a huge variety of goods, mostly consumables with a few jewelry and handmade goods worked in. The vast majority of consumables booths had samples. I tried balsamic vinegars, loads of dips, some fresh fruit and tomatoes, bread, tempeh, you name it. I wasn't even hungry for lunch after going! If you aren't keen on samples, there are lots of prepared food booths for a full meal. Prices are reasonable. I bought a delicious Mediterranean 3 layer dip for $6 and my brother got a massive focaccia loaf for $10. The vendors were very friendly and helpful. Many (most?) also had business cards with shipping info if you're like me and have a full suitcase already. I would consider this market a must-visit if you find yourself in San Diego on a Sunday. Loved it!

Located in an…read moreelementary school, you'll see a bunch of tents lined along, selling everything from flowers, fruits, jerky, meat, cheese, and more! Pros: -I love the variety of food vendors that they have here. There were also vegan options available. -there is a shaded seating area that has picnic benches but people also brought out blankets to enjoy the day -some live music was available when I stopped by Cons: -parking can be a bit difficult and since this is in a residential neighborhood, you need to be careful of where you park. Everyone had a bottle and rightfully so, super nutritious and delicous - this farmers market is at a elementary school which is great -parking can be tough but we had parked in downtown Encinitas and just walked over (about 20 minutes)

Vista Farmers market you never disappoint!…read more You can support all sorts of family run and privately owned businesses here. The fresh produce is great, food vendors are fantastic, friendly customers and sellers, crafters, live music by local artists, and much more to experience. It's a little bit different each time with some consistency as well. They are there rain or shine for the most part. This particular day they had a new year fire feature where you write down. What you are grateful for, what you want to let go of, and what you're going to bring in -- something that would brings light into your life. Then you toss it in and give it up to the fire. So cool. Love the cathartics of that! You can count on bringing something good home or enjoy while there every time.

The food all looks great, but there is no place to eat it. There is a big area near the booths that could be set up with tables, which I'm sure the vendors would appreciate and enable them to enjoy more sales. 2. It's only open until 12:00 and while I'd like to try the food, I don't eat lunch before 12:30 or later. It should be open until at least 1:00. 3. The website says that dogs are not allowed, but they are everywhere and it's a pain to avoid them and tripping over their leashes. There also health department regulations FOR GOOD REASONS, to not have animals around food.

Neil is found running the Saturday veggie/fruit stand. Ryan is busy putting together their "Farm" bags and the micro-farms, and Ann is sending out weekly recipes of what to make with this week offerings. Connelly Farms is open all year around on Saturdays 9am - 2pm. Since they are open all year around what veggies and fruit they offer changes with the season. Check their website for what they are currently offering now. As it is summer, they have beautiful heirloom tomatoes, different types of summer squash, green and yellow string beans, pimento peppers, figs, white nectarines, eggs, herbs, lettuce varieties, and many other veggies I can't remember off the top of my head. They are known for their purple artichokes in the spring. They have had green, white, orange and purple cauliflower, cabbage, yams, lots of different citrus, He also has sugar cane for sale but you need to asked for it. I suggest to get there soon after they open if you want the best selection. Some of their items go quickly. When you come upon the circular driveway, enter on the left side where you see the sign, drive slowly past the veggie stand and park beyond it in a way you don't block the driveway so people can get out.

FRESH FARM EGGS!!! (5 stars + meteor shower + starlinks)…read more Pasteurized eggs are the best quality. But pasture raised + fresh farm eggs; Hens that roam freely and forage, even better quality! Did you know... fresh farm eggs can sit on the counter (unrefrigerated) for up to 14 days IF the eggs have yet been refrigerated. And they are SO good. Obviously, refrigerate if they won't be consumed within the 14 days but once refrigerated they must stay refrigerated . When buying at the booth, they have not been refrigerated. Current price: $8 for 1 dozen. Expensive but quality and freshness is priceless. If you haven't had fresh farm eggs or don't know the difference, you need to refine that pallet of yours because you are missing out. Fresh as in unwashed!!! I've gone "country" in this beach city! Many times I have considered taking the drive to Ramona to the farms to hunt for some fresh eggs for my baked goods, breakfasts, and my fresh pasta noodle making. Especially when it comes to making my fresh pasta noodles from scratch I want the freshest eggs possible. Well, you don't need to drive to the farms. Their tent is available at some of the farmers markets around the county. If you see their tent, don't pass them up! Well worth $8. Some of the other food vendors at the farmers markets use their eggs as well. I had a "breakfast bowl" and they were frying up fresh eggs from Three Sons Farm. The taste of fresh eggs... I can't find the right words that deserve their compliments. Has a fresh and clean taste to them. The yolk doesn't have a harsh "yolks-ness" taste, it's lighter and creamier - if that makes sense?! The difference is in the yolk. I will take creamier over store bought any day. Ex: I make my own fresh pasta noodles from scratch. That alone, the noodles are already fresh and silky. With fresh eggs... "!!!!!" JABA APPROVED. Until the next review....
