Lakewood New Life Church (LNLC) is a Christian Non-Denominational Church on Detroit Ave. I decided…read moreto visit today after actually attending a different church service. I felt God was telling me to just attend. I'm glad that I visited because the sermon message today really was something I needed to hear. The Pastor was in the last day of a series titled "The Strategy of Satan" (read Ephesians 6:10-18). He preached about how in this life, we are engaged in an invisible war. When trials and temptations come your way, be ready to put on the whole armour of God (metaphorically speaking) and fight the devil. The pastor gave real life examples as he preached so the whole message was easy to understand. As the pastor preached, there were notes to follow along on a bulletin. I liked that inside the bulletin, there was a memory verse and next steps on how to get involved with the church. I enjoyed the praise and worship time, prayer, and the little meet and greet session. Everyone I encountered was very friendly snd welcoming. I especially love that the church is diverse - filled with different races with men, women, and children. I've been visiting a few churches these past few weeks and I know where I will end up but I'm still glad that I visited LNLC. **** This is my 110th Yelp review overall. 64 reviews for 2018. I am aiming for 100 reviews in 2018.

While I didn't get to visit inside of this church due to all activities being outdoors, I wanted to share about the camaraderie that seriously impressed me. All church members working alongside festival organizers were extremely welcoming. They were eager to share information about their church and just genuinely friendly. It was so heartwarming to witness one of the members discuss how welcoming they are of other cultures and views. I strongly feel that this type of atmosphere is a culture here and transfers to other church events and routine services. The people here are really gold - accepting, welcoming, and loving. I'm grateful that I got to spend an afternoon here. The church offers ample parking onsite. As you navigate to this church, make sure to make a turn into the right driveway. It's easy to miss a turn and pull into the park's parking lot. I would highly recommend attending events at this church and meeting its members!

From our first visit, people went out of their way to welcome us and make us feel comfortable. We became members this year and have really enjoyed getting to know Pastor Shelley and the congregation. She notes a disappointing and disgusting experience at the time of her Grandmother's death. I am sorry she had that experience. She received a quite inappropriate response. However, I need to point out that the clergy couple serving Noble Road left in the year 2000. Since then they have had two pastors. After them, a man served for ten years. There has been a woman serving for about four years. The clergy leadership has changed. And hopefully a different response would be provided should a similar situation arise. The congregation has long-time members and new folx. But the fellowship remains strong. And the church is involved in mission both in the city of Cleveland Heights and around the world. Nothing can make up for the experience that Paula Girl G reports. I am in no way trying to apologize for it. But things change - the leaders have changed - if you are in the Cleveland Heights area and looking for a progressive congregation with a strong committment to mission and to each other, give Noble Road a chance.

As second-time visitors, we were incredibly shocked to hear the pastor, from the "pulpit," literally chide and shame the congregants who were not wearing face masks, calling them words like 'immature' and 'childish.' It is certainly no one's business why someone else without a face mask on is that way-- their medical condition, religion, whatever-- so to have a pastor treat people that way was very sad. These examples clearly aren't the type of leadership and church atmosphere the Bible calls for!
