Many of them have religiously mixed marriages. The Rabbi is amazing - very smart, always up on current topics, and tries to keep the members engaged during services. It's also very informal - jeans for services: no problem. The only negatives are that Temple Sinai does not offer Saturday services unless there is a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, and only the High Holy Days are celebrated by services on their actual dates. Also, the facilities are not fancy so if you want glitz and glamour, this is not the place for you. However, it is the people and Rabbi that make a temple and that is what brought me here 10 years ago and why I still belong, even though my daughter finished religious school long ago.

We love our teachers Ms Laura, Ms Jill and Ms Paula. The facility is so clean and safe. All the classrooms have new furniture and toys for the children. The ECA has a wonderful curriculum that is age appropriate. The indoor gym is also a sensory room that the kids love. Here's the Scoop: Today my husband and I were invited to a Bar Mitzvah at this Synagogue. As you…read moreenter the lobby you are greeted and yarmulkes and dollies are given for your head. You are reminded that cameras are not allowed and phones must be turned off. The service started promptly at 10:00am. Pews are close and low but comfortable. The Synagogue is decorated with religious symbols on the walls. It has high ceilings and on the backs of the pews are name plates for parishioners who've donated to the Synagogue. These plates are also displayed at the entrance and in the encased glass in the lobby. Gorgeous wooden ark holds the Torahs on the alter wall. The Bar Mitzvah service is interactive ( call & response) and engaging, simply one of the most beautiful church services I've ever partaken in. I thoroughly was intrigued by the service and the singing of the scripture and many questions began to well up within me during the service. I'm glad that we were invited to celebrate this awesome occasion. Shalom!!

The room where the services was held is beautiful! High ceilings, lots of light and most importantly, actual seats. Not a bench. A seat. Seats = about 10 min of extra ceremony I can tolerate. The cocktail hour room was large and had a long bar. Staff was quick on the pour and people could fit comfortably enough to eat little bites in one hand and get sloshed with the other. The star knock is only bc the food wasn't great. It was good, especially for a large wedding, but not great. The ballroom was large as well and had a stage for the band, allowing us drinkers to rock out and listen to speeches while keeping my arse in my seat (sitting and drinking seems to have been the theme of this jam). The lighting of the room was excellent and really made the place feel classy. Kudos, TBT. Bottom line, if you get invited to an affair here, go. It's worth the price of admission.
