My tankless installation was a little more complicated than most. I called a few plumbers, and one of them told me that he does them if they are straight forward, but he said the guy to call for tankless is Roy at Conejo Tankless. I had already left a message for Roy so felt comfortable. As the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for". Roy wasn't the cheapest, but his price was fair. 70% of his business is tankless water heaters, so how can you go wrong. 5 days after the installation, I smelled a very faint smell of gas. I wanted to replace my existing water heater with a tankless and have hot water to the kitchen sink faster (farthest from the heater). Roy came out and look over my existing setup and suggested the Noritz. After it came in he set up an appointment and was there on-time, a real plus in my book. I was in need of a new water heater and researched tankless units to ensure it could accommodate the size of our house (4,600 sf). Based on recommendations, I went with Roy at Conejo Tankless. Roy was very professional, friendly and provided his years of knowledge confirming we could use a tankless unit. After discussing the Noritz and Rinnai units, we went with the Rinnai unit with the wifi capabilities so we could control the unit from our phones. Roy walked us through the installation process and what would take place along with an estimate. The day of the install Roy was on time and it took 8 hours to complete. He didn't leave until we fully understood how the new system worked. He even returned a week later as I had concerns over an item that turned out to be a non-issue. I had a tankless water heater problem for several weeks now. Suddenly my hot water output decreased to a luke warm water output. I have had this heater for about six years never experiencing problems. I've narrowed the problem down to the water valve after reading forums and the Bosch website. I ordered a rebuild kit and called Roy. Roy told me that he had never worked on Bosch units before, but was willing to do the job and gave me an estimate and an appointment. On morning of the day of appointment he called and had to cancel because his other job ran long. We rescheduled but I couldn't take time off again until two weeks from that day. Two more weeks of luke warm showers in this cold weather.. I ordered a complete water valve and while waiting I attempted to exchange the water valve myself. It's not brain surgery. I had a problem removing two last set screws which had become frozen into the brass water valve, the phillips head stripped. The screws weren't flush with the valve. When Roy and I talked the day prior to the appointment I told him about that. He sounded confident. When he came over, he briefly attempted to remove the screws while on phone with tech support. He wasn't excited about Bosch units nor about servicing tankless water heaters. He seemed helpless. Tech support basically said a new gas valve would have to be ordered if the screws aren't coming out. Roy didn't charge me since he couldn't remove the screws but there wasn't a whole lot of brain storming going on and not a whole lot of motivation noted. I think I basically just wasted two days off and two weeks waiting around. I'm sure on new unit installations he's a completely different person, but for servicing tankless units .".Meh, I've experienced better." read more

Roy came out and replaced a check valve on my tankless water heater and cleaned out what was apparently an extremely filthy filter. Although I had an initial problem I was able to fix one my own, I got the run around with other tankless water heater repair companies, one that even tried to tell me that my neutralizer was an accessory unit to my tankless, even after having the panel off and the manual in front of me. Roy was able to diagnose the problem with my explanation over the phone, and came out and got my water heater, working properly for the first time since we moved in, quickly. Not reliable and very unprofessional. Did not call back when promised to schedule an appointment, but had decided to give another chance. When he arrived for installation (on-time) my 9 year-old daughter had answered the door and said I was sleeping. Instead of asking her to get me (I was upstairs doing laundry and did not hear the door), he left. Who doesn't ask for a parent when a child answers the door? When I called him, he refused to return and was very rude. He said, "He wasted enough of his time and that I should go with the other quote I had received". Although I had called thirty minutes after I realized he was running late, he claimed he had wasted 2 hours of his time and lost money on the job. Beware. read more

This is an amazing company run by a guy named Roy Madigan. Roy installed our tankless water heater in 2008 and we have not had a day of trouble with it. It has been the simple most important decision that we made for our daily lives. Everyone in the house, every single day, can take as long of a shower as they want. Ten people in a row could take an hour long shower with no problems. Roy does an excellent installation and is available and friendly in answering questions. Roy is a nice guy and I've used him a few times to service my hot water heater without any problem. I recently used his services to install 2 new toilets and a new faucet in my home and was quoted around $250 to get that work done. I was away when he installed everything and he left a bill on my counter for almost $600. Additionally, one of the toilets leaked and caused damage to my new wood flooring due to it being installed improperly. When I asked Roy about the higher than expected charges he said that the toilets were more difficult to install than he anticipated (because they were top button flushing units). He stated that he chose to charge me on an hourly basis and included his time for breaking down and throwing away the boxes the toilets came in. After e-mailing back and forth he told me to just pay what I thought I owed him. He is refusing to return to fix the situation and I now have to hire another plumber to literally clean up his mess. As I said he's a nice guy and I have been a loyal customer of for a few years. I think how people treat customers when there is a problem speaks volumes about their honesty and integrity. Couldn't be happier with the service. We had an old Bosch which gave up. My wife found a tankless on sale at Lowes. We called around for quotes - they ran everywhere from $250 to over $1000 to install our unit. Some people did not know how to handle the installation, but weaned to charge us anyway. It has almost been two years since my tankless water heater installation. All the concerns I had never materialized. I have never had a problem with my Noritz unit. No leaks, no noise. No pilots blowing out. No noisy rumbling like I had with my old water heater. I am able to run my front loading HE washer with no filling problems and no problems running my dishwasher. I have much more space in my utility room and can do my laundry without squeezing between my dryer and the old bulky water heater. Mr. Madigan did a great job. He arrived and completed the job just as he said he would. He never tried to add a "this" or a "that" to his price after he started the job and he actually did a few extra things at no extra cost just to reassure me.
