I received my Business Management undergrad as a transfer student at CUW (WI) and am now transferring to the CUAA (MI) campus closer to me. It is a small, picturesque 197-acre campus perched above the Huron River that runs through Ann Arbor. The chapel has a unique pyramid design with walls of stained glass within it and an immense pipe organ that you have to see to believe. The 1960s campus resembles a park and sits in the heart of the Lutheran Synod of Michigan. Entering after the CoVID, it seems like a quiet, relaxed atmosphere on campus. I like that they consistently tie their lessons to the Lutheran Faith. The online curriculum is not perfect and allowed me to build on skills that I was already familiar with and tried to steer me towards what I needed for my career. I think with the onset of the pandemic, they like most schools were negatively affected. I am currently working towards a Master's degree here online. Make sure to look into possible scholarships and aid to save money. I am giving it 3 stars because I have always been an adult student at this school and in Wisconsin. I cannot judge extracurricular activities and athletics. They do have a strong music program and do concerts on the banks of the river at times. Very nice. The institution changed its name to Concordia College when it began offering four-year degree programs in 1976, and ultimately became Concordia University Ann Arbor in 2001. In July 2013, a strategic partnership between CUAA and Concordia University Wisconsin became official. Within the first years after the merger, the campus underwent major renovations and enhancements, including to residence halls, the student union, athletic fields, and the dining hall. In 2015, the university purchased a former law school building located just over two miles north of the main campus. The "North Building" now houses the campus' School of Nursing, the first fully accredited academic school opened by Concordia since its merger with CUW. Coupled with expanding academic programs and athletic offerings, enrollment reached an all-time high at Concordia University Ann Arbor during the 2017-18 academic year with a total of 1,081 students. BEWARE IF UR CHILD IS SIGNING AT CONCORDIA! Shame on you Concordia University! After all the money given to you , you're going to send out a email to the nursing students set to graduate next year and say you're folding your program. Not only did these kids bust there ass to get where they are, but they're in the mists of studying and doing clinics to now have to worry where there next semester will be. They had to take your ridiculous religion classes that does nothing for them to transfer out but to create more debt. Beyond upset parent! On top of it we found out they are cutting a bunch of sports so her boyfriend received the same email after being there for 2 years so now he has to find a college. read more

I've taken many classes here over the years. It's a hard one to review because they have a very distinct market. Unfortunately, the people in admissions don't always realize this. When I first applied, I was told that, "People from all religions and faiths could excel here." Whoa. Only if they want to fight an uphill battle. I think it's fine to offer an education strongly influenced by your school's religious background, but tell the truth about it. If that one representation were corrected, Concordia could have gotten five stars for being what it is. There are a lot of students who stay on campus, and a small amount that commute in from homes and apartments in Ann Arbor and the surrounding communities. Because the majority of students live on campus, study groups and the like may be scheduled at inconvenient times for those who commute in. Armed with this knowledge, a successful education can be gotten at Concordia. read more

The occasion: All-Alumni weekend celebrating 50 years of academic excellence. I took part in the festivities on Saturday, a perfect Fall day for tours of the grounds and facilities. I learned that the school has a current student population of about 770, which allows it to provide for some truly personal instruction. This past summer, a complete renovation of the Science building took place, allowing for new labs and a spacious theater-style lecture hall. The glorious Chapel of the Holy Trinity, with its huge and wonderful pipe organ, as well as stained glass windows throughout, is one of the most photographed structures in the Ann Arbor area. This is certainly one of the most intimate university settings in Southeast Michigan. Warm and friendly, students and faculty function as one large family. read more

Basically if you're rich and extremely religious, go here. This school is so over priced and poorly run it's ridiculous. I was locked out of my dorm and my meal plan was cut off twice. The second time I was given absolutely no warning. I was in class the whole day and then I had to sit through a four hour basketball game for pep band. I got back at 11 and was locked out of the dorms. The internet is always down. E-mails frequently don't go through. The scholarships are pitiful. I know personally the band scholarship was not worth anything. The time students with a band scholarship are expected to put in is completely ridiculous for the amount they give.The same for pep band. People are better off just getting a job. They'll make more with minimum wage than they will with the band program. That's with combined band AND pep band scholarships. The food is actually the most disgusting thing I've ever had to eat in my life. For what students are paying to go to this school, the food shouldn't be the stereotypical horror story of cafeterias. The cafeteria hours are also ridiculous. Especially on the weekends. Most people on campus have cars and I quickly figured out why. The school is in the middle of nowhere, there aren't any bike paths unless you go way out of your way, and the bus system is awful. By the way, the I.D.'s can't be used to ride the bus. Students also have to pay for bus passes. The dorms have one tiny light in them, and the bathrooms were covered in bleach and ruined my towels. I was told I would be accommodated and be able to easily get a job on campus. I applied to 3 or 4 different places, heard back from one that was only open during the times I had class.I was unable to get a job. They also said they would be helpful financially. Lie. I went in to ask about scholarships and the women in the office were very dismissive and frankly, rude. Also, if you don't want to go to church everyday to make friends, please avoid this school. As a transfer student, it was impossible to meet anyone. I'm religious, but I was not about to go to church seven days of the week. No one really reached out, and I didn't have a roommate, so my social experience was also awful. Basically, the school is just not worth $32,000. They're completely delusional too, if they actually believe they have a "dry campus". I couldn't find any honest reviews of this place, so hopefully this might help a few people who were wondering. Again, this place is the perfect fit if you are very religious and don't have to worry about money too much. Otherwise, please consider other options. read more

My son was excited and ready to start his Freshman year at Concordia. Due to horrible extenuating circumstances, he needed to withdraw for medical reasons. The University has protocol in place for how to do this. Although they may sound kind on the other end of the phone, it is nothing more than playing to your emotions. No sincerity, no concern, and certainly NO response when it comes to returning unused funds. I was told that I would not be receiving money back because my son's attendance was denying the place of another. A complete fabrication, since my son was never slated to live on campus, never. The school has willfully declined to return my calls for months now. As for a "Christian" school.....a disgrace is more like it. How the financial aid department and higher ups treat students and families when they are struggling and low, is an utter disgrace. Would never recommend this institution to anyone. read more
