Great school. You'll graduate in four years here unlike other schools and the people are amazing.

This was my first college experience at the age of 37. I was nervous as everything was new, but…read moreeveryone here was so helpful, the advisors, the academic counselors, the career counselors, the professors.. After a year I changed my major and transferred to a huge university which was a huge mistake. After a couple of years I started again at MSCTC Moorhead and got the same great help as before. I ended up changing my major a couple more times. Each time the advisors were helpful. I ended up graduating with an AA in Liberal Arts with a 3.93 GPA. The only negative thing I have to say about MSCTC is that I was told that I had all my graduation requirements met, and then I was told that I couldn't graduate. When I finished my courses the next semester that were required (at a fellow university), I got another letter saying I wasn't eligible to graduate. The first problem was that my transcript from the huge university classes that I didn't finish were put in at MSCTC as "in progress", which they weren't. The second problem was that even though I had followed the advice given to me when I asked, the powers that decide had not updated my transcript to include the fellow university classes that I needed to graduate. Eventually that was corrected and I did get my diploma. During the process of these letters, everyone I communicated with to fix the situation were super kind and helpful.

I transferred here from another college. I couldn't be happier with my choice to attend M State in…read moreMoorhead! The professors are helpful and truly want you to succeed. As long as you study hard, you will do fine here.

I have a masters degree, and I had a provincial license and a job in ND, and had been working with…read moreU Mary for over a year about taking online certificate courses for my license. The Director of the Department in BISMARCK PERSONALLY wrote my plan. When the time came to apply, LM HOLTER In Fargo stated that she did not want to ADMIT persons with disabilities into their programs as she did not want disabled people in their program NOR did she want them to work in the ND School System. I WAS DENIED BASED ON MY DISABILITY, VS BEING ADMITTED BASED ON ACADEMIC MERIT AND STANDARDIZED TEST SCORES AS IS ETHICAL AND LEGAL. LM HOLTER Criticized my "articulation" and personally stated that NO, she did NOT WANT A PERSON WITH A DISABILITY IN HER PROGAM; she also stated that she disagreed with the school having a Disability Student Access Center. I filed a complaint with the EEO at the DEPT of ED, when the report came back, it was even worse; she stated that she, despite all of the very invasive questions that she asked, thought that I over shared. This woman and her department broke Federal Law and they take FAFSA. I called Betsy, the Director of the DSAC (at the time) who later called me back and said the LM HOLTER ADMITTED to her transgression against me and against federal law. I have posted this same review, once with a bit more anger, and YELP is reporting to me that UMARY is complaining to them about the review and that I could face legal action. TO YOU LM HOLTER I SAY COME FOR ME BITCH! I would love for you to say none of this happened in a court of LAW, I would love for you and your director in BISMARCK to say NONE OF THIS EVER HAPPENED. I have save ALL OF THE EMAILS, LETTERS, ALL OF IT since I started Communicating with the school in McKenizie County at an open house in the Fall of 2016. SO come for me! COME FOR ME! Their actions COST ME MY LIVELY-HOOD so if they think they can win, FUCK ITS GAME ON!

Good and bad about NDSU. I started with summer classes after a year of a technical college. It…read morewent well although I would never recommend college algebra in 4 weeks to a social sciences student. The professor was super helpful when I often came in for help, it just wasn't my thing. I also took another class which I really liked. I was looking forward to fall semester... Ugh. It was awful. Professors taught stuff they didn't test on and so it was a lot of self-learning. For health insurance I had to work and I didn't have time to go home and teach myself everything that I could have learned some of in class. Technical college was much more friendly in that way. Also the class sizes were huge and the professors didn't care if you were there or not, they didn't know your name, nor did they care. Another class was just misrepresented (I tried lower level and they sent me up, and when I went to class they simplified the course so I stayed in after the drop-out date, and then the prof made it super difficult) I ended up dropping out. It wasn't long and I had to quit due to health reasons and the horrible stress of NDSU. The campus is spread out, but that is just the way it is, not good or bad. The best thing I have to say for NDSU is the person I worked with in accessibility resources (or whatever it is called now) was super awesome, as well as my academic counselors. Both were very understanding when I had to leave.

The STEM classes and programs are great! But the Counseling program is poor. They place students…read morewho have little education and maturity and no clinical skills in unsupervised rooms with patients/clients in order to gain skills and experience. No one is intervening to correct the students which is irresponsible.
