I highly recommend On Side Restoration. When my home suffered extensive flood damage, I was…read moreoverwhelmed and unsure of what to expect. From the very beginning, the entire On Side team treated me with kindness, professionalism, patience, and respect. Every employee I dealt with was efficient, friendly, accommodating, and genuinely committed to helping me through a very difficult situation. Because of my mobility limitations, many tasks that others take for granted can be challenging for me. The On Side team consistently went above and beyond to make things easier. They took care of details I had not even thought about and always made me feel safe, protected, and supported throughout the process. A very special thank you goes to Marie-Ève, who was my first project manager. She was exceptional. She listened carefully, explained every step of the process, and always made sure I understood what was happening and what would happen next. She had a remarkable ability to put herself in her clients' shoes and help them make informed decisions without ever making them feel pressured. One example that stands out is when I wanted all of my belongings to remain on my property after the flood. Marie-Ève took the time to explain why a heated storage facility would better protect my possessions from moisture, winter conditions, and spring thaw. She listened to my concerns first, respected them, and then gently helped me understand the bigger picture. Looking back, she was absolutely right. What impressed me most was her ability to anticipate what would make a client feel at ease. She never treated me like a file number. She treated me like a person. Even after another company took over the restoration work, she remained someone I trusted and turned to when I had questions. The entire On Side team felt more like a family than a group of contractors. Their professionalism was outstanding, but it was their compassion and genuine care that made all the difference. Thank you to everyone at On Side, and especially to Marie-Ève, for turning an incredibly stressful experience into one that felt manageable. I will always be grateful.

During construction, they raised their prices and ended up charging me the equivalent of the other bids. I refused to pay the final invoice when they tried to gouge me. They sued me, I hired a lawyer, and they eventually dropped the lawsuit and settled without me owing them another dollar. The amateurs did not ask me to sign an NDA, which is why I can share this. Stay away from this company. They are horrible and work with the worst subcontractors. At some point, everything they did fell apart: leaks from the bathroom ceiling, peeling paint (they forgot the primer), and electrical and plumbing work that was an absolute mess.

Quoted 3 months for a job that started June 2020. It took til mid-January 2021 for majority of work to get completed & full job was not completed til mid-July 2021. 2) Cost was 25% over quoted budget. 3) Quality of a work was a solid B+ or 7.5/10. Many small details only addressed after us following up several times. In conclusion, we've worked with other companies for smaller jobs but due to size of our reno we had gone for a larger company - Newsam, and we regretted it. Though at the end the job was done to design it was an emotionally painful, long drawn out & overpriced experience.

I refused so he demanded extra $600 to continue work and do the epoxy floor, that he was broke. On receiving this, he then abandoned my project while giving flimpsy 'weather bad' excuse. Eventually, there was good weather window and he did not follow through after confirming to come around to do the job and clean up the demolition materials he had left on my driveway for 2+ weeks. I got fed up and asked for my money back. I warned that I will report him to my bank as scam in an attempt to get my money, he said I can go ahead that he cannot return my money. He is refusing to give me back 2K of the $2,825 he has already collected from me, saying that, "my plan was to make a couple of payments to reach 1.3K." When I informed him I would take legal action against him and go to the police. He said he will not pay me anymore that and I quote him, "the money I was gonna send you will be spent on lawyers instead.". Afterwards, I allowed him to make payment of what he thinks is due to me so I can suspend the legal action I initiated, but he refused. So, essentially he wants to defraud me of $2.8K (63% of project cost) for incomplete removal of ceiling insulation of ca. 280 sq.ft garage and some drywalls including 85 sq. ft of my drywall that I never asked him to remove, then leaving part of the debris on my driveway and scampering for more than 3 weeks after failing to follow through with our agreement and being dishonest.
