For those of you that may of heard about Ronald McDonald houses for children going through cancer treatment and their families this is the American Cancer Society's version of offering housing for cancer patients and their caretakers when they are away from home. We are about 5000 miles away from home and yet we feel so welcome here it is been a true blessing to have this wonderful place to stay. We can't thank the staff and volunteers enough for their wonderful hospitality. Love the decor here to, just like a beautiful hotel!

Let me eat, restroom, wash up, Check computer, do it again. I would fuck this place up something crazy, and about 5 peopl who are Drs. would not be, they had to cheat or something.... of course everything has been f***** up from the beginning 2 hours yesterday with dietary and food services to get my simple God damn meals. I want two milks, two cereals and two protein drinks. nothing else. I don't want any of what you're serving. I can't eat it. maybe it's the greatest thing in the world, but I can't eat it. my stomach can't eat it so, looking back I thought they had it figured out but now that I'm remembering it right this lady pretty much did it all on her own so they got lunch right and then the lady fixed dinner so they screwed up in 3 hours. then this morning breakfast finally rolls around. we're the last people to get. it is close to 10:00 and I get biscuits and gravy. no cereal like I'm supposed to and I get the full damn thing of food. it's going to go to 100% waste. you want to see what the f****** gravy look like. look at this. you tell me you've ever saw gravy like this. this is what I'm supposed to eat. I don't know how much I'm paying but I'm going to call my insurance company when I'm out of here and hopefully we can get together for because they should not pay any more 15%. whatever room is whatever it cost to stay overnight and whatever the nurse's cost they're worth it. the nurses aren't worth it. the nurse in tax are worth it and like transport that guy that did it. the guy that looked in my stomach that was worth it but everything else I wouldn't pay their bills because they haven't accomplished anything and anytime you want something something simple act like a pillow. I took 4 hours the other night to get a god damn pillow. I can finally walk now so I don't have to depend on other people. I'm serious. I'm going to need f****** mental help when I get out of here. Everyone was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. Did some blood work and got my surgery day instructions. The nurse was very clear on everything and answered all my questions in a manor that made me comfortable to ask everything I wanted to know. Thursday was cutting day. I had carpal tunnel release done by Dr. Wax. I was informed to show up at 6:00 am. I had a feeling I'd be waiting a while. I was wrong. They checked me in right away and sent me to the surgical floor. When I got there they showed me right to my room and started doing everything to prepare me. I've never really been a fan of nursing assistants. They always seem to be angry with the world. This day both my CNAs were super nice and caring, along with both of my nurses. The guy who transported me was super nice and made sure to tell me good luck as well. Once I got in the surgery room, already under some anesthesia, I informed the nurse that I was feeling nauseous and she immediately began to give me meds to help that. After it was all done I was woken up and given a little time to get myself together. I was given juice and a snack and allowed to head home. The next day I received a call from the hospital to see how I was doing. In the event that I would need surgery or to be hospitalized again, I do believe I would feel very good in choosing West Jeff!

Once someone came to the phone, she immediately said "please hold" and clicked me to hold without me responding today ok. I stood on hold for 1 minute before she came back to the phone !! My referral was sent two weeks ago, I called last week to see why haven't I started treatment being I was told by my OBGYN that it would only take 48 hours to hear from them! Once I called on Friday 4/24/2026 the lady stated she will leave a message . She also stated that she didn't see the referral come through, but she's sending it to the proper infusion person! I called again today 4/28/2026 at 12:52pm and I was told she will put a message in for me! Seems to me as the care of the patients are not top priority ! UPDATE: once I left this review, I received a call at 2:16pm!

Soooooo pre-katrina, the Ochsner "main campus" was but a mere consideration & most times NOT the choice of hospitals one decided upon... BUUUUTTTT NOOOOOW post-katrina, options are limited & Ochsner has a slight "monopoly" so to speak, in the world of New Orleans clinic/hospitals. So with that being the case, your choices are Ochsner or Ochsner or Ochsner, yeah. Post-Katrina, I have visited this facility more times than I care to mention, either with a relative or a friend. And this time is no different, I'm here with a relative. Review time: Entering the ER triage, we were immediately told to take the elevator to the 8th floor... No reference to which set of elevators... Guess me, my in active labor, aminotic sac ruptured preggo sis & her bestie have to figure it out... Ummm ok. Next we get to the area where she's "to be admitted" & no1 is there to greet us. Sooooo I pushed the "no admittance doors" and admitted, ha... Lol (classic me). So we fiiiind the nurse station... because there was no welcoming committee & then we're wheeled to yet another area. Upon arrival in the L&D triage area, "the correct place" (ER personnel sent us to the post delivery area, we needed pre delivery) we finally get some treatment & attention. She's admitted & we meet a myriad of people, some with great bedside manners & some not so great. Namely, Drs Moore, Pullman, Jordan & Super Nurses Brooke & Emma, ALL members of #teamoutstanding... and then the members of #teamNOTsogreat, well they shall remain nameless. I can honestly say the care, concern & patience shown to us by The L&D Staff, was phenomenal!!! If Alton Ochsner were alive, I'd give the ladies a shout-out & DEMAND a raise. The Ochsner monopoly, the find the elevators episode & the few not so nice L&D staff members, ehhhhh 3 stars it is. And only 3 because of L&D. Today I tried to ask a question using their patient portal. To use the portal, you have to provide security information, including your DOB. I typed my question, which is "Do you administer the Johnson & Johnson vaccine?" The response I received was four paragraphs outlining their process for taking appointments, how busy they are, how they are trying to vaccinate everyone, blah blah blah. Scripted reply, no answer to my simple question. Frustrated, I sent a second question, after logging in again, answering the same security questions again, etc., typing "Your previous response did not answer my simple question: Do you have the Johnson & Johnson vaccine?" An hour later my phone rang. A female identified herself as Nurse Jennifer and said she was calling to answer my question. I asked her "Do you have the Johnson's& Johnson vaccine?" She said she first needed to know how to spell my name. I told her. She then wanted my DOB. I lost it. I told her I had already provided their security protocols with that information when I posted my question -twice! -and what provision of HIPAA required my birthdate before replying with whether it not they had the Johnson & Johnson vaccine?!" She said it was "their procedures." I said I refuse because I have already given that information twice, and their is no security or privacy issue affecting whether or not they have the J$J vaccine. We hung up. I still don't know what vaccine they use but now I think they are so stupidly anti/patient hidebound by protocols they invented that I would not trust them to give a tetanus shot. Beware Ochsner! Beware their security! They are another Medical group that sees patients as little profit centers and not human beings.

This is a review of the physical therapy/rehab facility and not an individual provider…read more This is an Ochsner owned medical center specializing in inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation as well as physical and occupational therapy. In building B they have a gorgeous new sports medicine rehab/PT room, inpatient rehab and medical offices. They are also currently undergoing further renovations. Most of the occupational therapy is done in a room in the back of the building rather than the fancy new room, but they still have comparable equipment. Building A houses an Ochsner lab (for blood draws), Ochsner Employee Health and medical offices. I go for physical therapy in the sports medicine building and really like it. The therapists are professional, friendly and knowledgable. They have nice new equipment and lots of tables and exercise machines. They employ computerized Epic charting like Ochsner's Main Campus so they always have your information pulled up and remember where you are in the therapy plan each week. I would return to this facility for any further PT/OT or sports rehab in the future without a doubt. Parking is limited in the front of the building, but they have a parking garage as well as lots behind building A and across the street behind building B. Note: this is not an emergency or urgent care facility, you must have a referral or appointment.
