Conner who works for the Lakeside Office is a horrible person to try to speak to. He speaks to…read moremental patients very rudely. He has no compassion or concerns. He is a very bad representation for a Mental HELP facility. Conner should not be allowed to work with the patients. Not only did he harass me over the phone until I showed up at the office on Union. He locked the door when I arrived and told me that the doctor would no longer see me, due to Conner's behavior? I have looked at a lot of Lakesides reviews. It does seem like the office staff & Conner are a big problem for some patients there. I recommend everyone read the bad reviews first! If I could give 0 or minus scores I would…read more Terrible experience. I feel bad for those in the IOP who don't have a grounding in what a good therapy group is. Mr. Edward Flynn uses the IOP as his own cult of personality "show". His profile says he is a "nationally certified DBT-C" but in closer inspection, his certification certainly isn't with the only recognized DBT certifying org but rather, the off, off, off broadway version. DBT is a structured, rigorous programmatic approach with skills and tools acquisition. Mr. Flynn's version is an aberration. Mr. Flynn speaks incessantly, talks over people and essentially sucks all the air out of the virtual room. Very few people respond because he doesn't make space for response. IOPs are demanding in terms of the time commitment, and Mr. Flynn's lack of respect for patients, for people who have significant diagnoses - CPTSD, prolonged grief, GAD, etc., is astounding. I tried to politely ask for something, anything I could use as a skill or a technique, via group chat (Zoom), when he was warbling on about distress intolerance, which he defined so inaccurately it was insulting. His 'clinical' response? He openly gaslighted me in the group and came at me hard about not using the chat but basically to man up and say my question out loud. His behavior is inappropriate and selfish. For someone suffering from GAD, not only not helpful, but actively hurtful. if this is the only thing you have access to, by all means do it because as piss poor as it is, at least it's something, but if you have other groups in your insurance plan, please run far and fast from this group of charlatans. The MD, whose business this appears to be should be ashamed but I am guessing the moNYE mill is the motivating factor vs care and concern for people with actual, mental health needs. Dr. Yamanadala and team......shame on you all.
