I recently got a repair for my macbook air display, it was darker on one side, so being as I'm in Ireland for christmas i took it to the Compu b store in limerick on O'Connell street, after being referred there from the apple site, once I dropped of my macbook they called me about a hour later saying the display was failing and that they would need to replace the display, which would cost me €630 and i would pay another €50 to have the faster service meaning i would get the macbook back in 2 days,
This all seemed fine at first , despite the no contact from them about the repair status and that i had to call to find out what was happening, this message is to make apple people of the shoddy and damaging work that i have experienced, my macbook was returned to me damaged, above the escape key - it looks like there has been some hot metal / solder dropped on the the casing and it has melted into the body of my macbook leaving a sharp edge to it also, ( i have pictures of this) i don't know why they would even need to use solder on this macbook -also after having it back for not even 24 hours, it failed again with not being able to find the start up disk, i tried to find it myself in recovery mode and its completely gone, no macintosh Hd to be found anywhere, I couldn't even reinstall anything (i tried all the help listed on the apple sites) and as a result have lost pictures and other documents since the last backup, i understand that this ,might not totally be their fault, but judging from how they handled my macbook when i got it back ( banging it of a doorway) and not even being able to comprehend what was going on or why i was shocked they didn't even apologise, also while in the store, the manager was explaining how apple HQ had contacted them about a certain iPhone case and had told them to put their iPhones in the case and "throw them across the room" to show cutomers that their phones would be protected,
now i know they may not have been the cause of Macintosh hd disc breaking/going missing , but i wasn't about to bring it back in for more damage/ more costly repairs, so i went to another reseller and bought a new macbook today,
I would really really REALLY avoid this place, buy a ticket and go to the uk to a apple store, would be cheaper and they actually understand what they are doing, I'm so surprised that apple have them as a premium reseller, read more
