I am giving this company a low rating because of poor communication and unprofessional customer…read moreservice from Tony Brown. I hired them to trim two ornamental trees in my backyard because they had done other work in our neighborhood. Their quote was higher than others I received, but I accepted it for convenience. The work was scheduled for Thursday. That day, they called and said they were backed up and probably would not get to my trees until Friday or the following week. My wife and I left to run errands, but later that afternoon I received a text saying, "We are almost done with your trees." I was frustrated because I had not been home to verify the work or arrange payment. When I texted my availability, Tony did not coordinate with me. He simply said he would come the next morning to collect the check. I was home most of the morning, but he showed up during the one hour I was at the gym. Instead of contacting me directly, he complained to the HOA President, which was inappropriate for a private transaction. When he eventually returned, he texted, "I'm here," stayed in his truck, and waited for me to come to him. The exchange was uncomfortable and unprofessional. The tree work may have been completed, but the poor communication and customer service were unacceptable. I will not use this company again.

I would NOT recommend this company. If you value your property and expect professional customer…read moreservice, I would look elsewhere. During the job, they damaged my grass, broke multiple panes on my greenhouse, broke other glass items, and destroyed a $100 digital birdhouse. The cleanup afterward was also disappointing. What bothered me most was the complete lack of communication. At no point did they tell me these items needed to be moved or that they could be damaged. As a professional service, I assumed they would either work carefully around them or simply communicate with me beforehand so I could move them myself. After the job, I texted my contact and asked for sod replacement as the bare minimum considering all of the damage. His read receipts are on, so I know the message was received and read, but I never received a response. My mistake was paying them before these issues were addressed. Once they received payment, the communication stopped. Very unprofessional experience from start to finish. Based on the property damage, poor cleanup, lack of communication, and failure to respond afterward, I would NEVER recommend this company.

I just want to say what a GREAT job Country Club Tree Service did! I have an eighty-year old…read moresilver maple with a hole in the trunk, and when I consulted the arborist he took the time to come out, look at my tree, and talk about all the possible options. We decided that filling the hole with expandable sealant was the best option, but at the time (this past spring) there was a family of squirrels living there. So Country Club took the time to let the babies grow up, then came by twice in mid-summer to put mothballs in the hole to chase the squirrels away. The tree team returned this past week, checked the hole to make sure it was squirrel-free, and then filled it with the sealant. They chose a color that would harmonize with the bark, and it is actually difficult to tell where the hole used to be unless you're looking for it. While they were here, they also trimmed up a lower branch of the maple that had started growing toward the house; they left the vertical portion of the branch but trimmed the horizontal portion, and it looks beautiful! The best tree-trimming work is invisible. :-) I've consulted their arborists in the past regarding my old-growth trees, and every time they give me great advice and guidance. They also took the time to look at the trees on a Habitat build site where I was volunteering, to guide us in our work around them. Many thanks to Country Club Tree Service for their expertise in trees; for their quality work in solving even the "simplest" of homeowner questions; for supporting non-profits like Habitat KC; and for being good stewards of the environment (making sure all the squirrels were gone before filling up the hole). You all are the BEST!!

Poor/non-existent customer service. 2020 This company was…read moreproviding service in my neighborhood and I was recovering from a couple herniated discs in my back so I called and used them for the 2020 Spring/Summer season. $40 per mow for my medium size lawn that takes them less than 5mins to mow. Signing on was fine but response to my communications was slow and I often had to call or email multiple times to pay my bill each month. I was told Covid had pulled Rachelle away for child care meaning Rob was left to manage the business so everything was happening slowly. The mowing itself wasn't great but it was getting done. The team followed the same exact pattern every week they mowed which formed ruts in my lawn. I've never used a lawn service before so chalked it up as part of this being a basic-level, relatively low-cost service. Then the lawn care team mowed a hose that was in my backyard and didn't tell me. Just shredded it multiple times and without skipping a beat kept going. When I called the office and left a message Rachelle called me back and was apologetic, offering to reimburse me for hose. I told her that wasn't the point but instead I was concerned they had damaged my property and not bothered to tell me. I was assured that wasn't acceptable and not the level of service they normally provide and that they would talk to the team member. In June I asked them to raise the deck on their mowers because they were scalping parts of my lawn completely killing the grass. No reply. They advertised they could do additional services like verticutting, aerating, and fall cleanup so I left a message requesting a fall cleanup. No reply and i didn't know if it was actually going to happen until they just showed up one day and did it without letting me know to expect them (so I could lock my dog door to keep my 4 dogs inside). They blew a ton of leaves underneath my large deck up against the house attracting a varmint who nested there and into the window wells. I had to roust the varmint and clean the window wells out after they were done. Not okay. I had paid them over $100 to take care of of the leaves and instead I spent hours finishing the hardest parts of the job. I was waiting to receive the bill to call and complain. However, two things stopped me. First, I didn't get a bill until the following spring. Second, this company had proved they're working on a shoestring and that my opinions about their poor service didn't matter. I emailed to discontinue service in October and asked to settle up my bill. The mowing stopped but I didn't get a reply or the final bill until the following spring (2021). Yes, I got an invoice 5-6 months after my final service which was the fall cleanup. 2021 - I recovered from my back injury and enjoyed the Spring/Summer season of yard care on my own. We're approaching fall now and this company has a team that still mows 3 of my neighbor's lawns. I know this because they park the company truck and equipment trailer in front of my house every week even though I'm not a client. A couple weeks ago the team pulled up as usual and parked on the street directly in front of my house which reminded me I had intended to call to see if they could finish up the season for me. So I called the office and left a voicemail asking if the team that is right here, right now could include my lawn which takes them less than 5mins to mow. No response. Not wanting to lose this opportunity, I stood outside in the cold and waited until the team was done mowing my neighbor's lawns then asked a team member if they could do my lawn since they were already there. I got a blatant smirk and a rude no, pretty sure we're not taking on new clients. I thanked him and went back inside. I called the office and expressed my dismay at the rude treatment. It was uncalled for. No reply to either call. Today the team was back and mowing my neighbor's lawn and parked in front of my house, walking through my lawn to do it. I asked them not to walk through my yard. They agreed then did it anyway. These guys are just completely rude and tone deaf. Overall, I'm frustrated with the poor customer service of this company. Covid was an excuse that I accepted that for a year. But I think this is the new normal for this company and it just doesn't work for me. So neither do they.

We switched to Green Lawn, Inc. last year because the previous company who was doing our lawn…read moretreatment didn't eliminate a majority of the weeds. I do a spot check every week to dig up any weeds that might appear, but they were so numerous that I couldn't keep up. It was a bit aggravating to have to do all that cleanup when the treatments should have been more effective. We have been extremely happy with Green Lawn, Inc. this past year because their lawn treatments have killed off those weeds and allowed the grass to grow back. They have done a great job overseeding our lawn as well, and we have added on their sprinkler overwintering services for this fall. Also, all the employees and technicians that I have interacted with have always been polite, knowledgeable, and willing to go the extra mile in doing quality work.

Called the next morning and was told "we got busy". I understand that some jobs take longer than anticipated but I at least expected a quick phone call to ask to update me rather than having no contact at all. Office was extremely rude when asked for a refund. Didn't even apologize for a no-show no -call appointment. I can't comment on the quality of their work as they didn't show but would strongly recommend hiring a different company if you're expecting an even minimal level of reliability, professionalism, and customer service.
