I waited almost 3 months to get an appointment with Dr. Heather Auld. On the day of the appointment…read moreI waited again. They were all very pleasant & I was ushered in to see the nurse who kindly informed me that the doctor no longer practiced functional medicine. The doctor herself also came and explained that she is also a gynecologist is is now concentrating on that side of her practice. She should remove all mention of functional medicine from her advertisements as you cannot get that care from her. She did not charge for the visit but I was extremely disappointed and had wasted a lot of time waiting to see her. I could have used that time to try & find a practicing Functional medical doctor, so if you're looking for a Functional Medical Doctor she is not the one you want.!!!

After my visit with doctor Auld she told me to take Vitex every capsules and my problem was resolved within two days after two long years of trying different doctors. She has backed up research on supplements she recommends and is very knowledgeable. I know that ever since they started taking insurance it has been a bit more difficult to see Dr. Auld for more than a few minutes since she has so many more clients to handle. Overall, her practice is of high value to people like me with complicated issues that other OBGYN offices were not able to figure out. Her integrative medicine approach is what makes her different than other gynecologists.

I had a very negative experience with Dr. Bipin Shah. When he asked if we had any questions, I…read morewanted to share my birth plan with him. I started off by telling him that I have a doula that will be attending me at the hospital and he said he generally does not like doulas and if they try to interfere with anything he wants to do then he will send them out. He then interrupted me while I was saying that a part of my birth plan is that I want to be treated with compassion and respect instead of like a procedure. He said, "Can you just talk to me about what concerns the doctor and not the nurses?" ....as if treating his new patient well does not apply to him. I desire to have a natural birth and my requests were not extreme. He seemed to rush along the appointment like he did not have time for us and when there were things I said that he did not like he was very rude about it. This whole time I was sitting there, vulnerable, wearing only a gown, because the nurse told me that he was going to do a "full check-up". During my experiences with doctors, usually they explain what they are going to do and why. But after our terrible conversation where I felt no respect, he just tells me to lay down. He did a breast exam in which I felt very uncomfortable and in which it seemed completely unnecessary for him to have to touch my bare skin. And then he asked me to spread my legs and I had no idea if he was going to do a pap smear or check my cervix (which was completely unnecessary at 31 weeks and I had explained in our terrible conversation that I did not want my cervix checked all the time in the weeks leading up to the birth). So I sat up before he tried anything and said, "What are we doing and why are we doing this?" I said this very calmly. And then he said, "I just have to do this!" And I said, "Well I don't want to do this." He raised his voice and said, "It seems you guys want to do a lot of things I don't want to do and you don't want to do a lot of things I want to do, so maybe you should go find someone else!" It was super awkward and he abruptly left and we left the office with all of the nurses looking at us awkwardly. My husband said afterwards that he reinforced all negative stereotypes of uncaring doctors and that he was a jerk and never wanted to go back again. It was so hard for me to get my mind off of that appointment. I felt he had his own agenda, he was invasive, he had a quick temper, and he did not care about my preferences but rather spoke to me like I did not know anything and that he was going to do whatever he wanted during the birthing process. If he were the one to deliver my baby, I am sure my body would tense up because it did not feel comfortable with his presence in the room. I am so disappointed that this was my experience and I genuinely hope that he changes for the better so that he can treat future patients with compassion and respect.
